AMAZON US Switch up

The only issue with this case is that it seems to require the Joy-Cons to be detached and placed on the small flap containing the cartridge holders. I don't know how I would feel about having that amount of pressure on the screen during travel.

Edit: On the second look, it might still fit the Switch with the Joy-Cons attached. I guess that bottom loop could be for spares or the AC adapter?

The official case actually sold out not too long after they went up for sale earlier today. Not all that surprising though considering it's straight from Nintendo.

the official nintendo case has actually been up since last friday (I ordered it then), it just didn't have an image on it. I pre-ordered it as a just in case.

edit - i'm also a big fan of a number of different cases (not sure I'll keep the pre-order on this nintendo one or not), but I have the Zelda special edition on pre-order and that comes with a case so I might end up just rocking that.

anyone seen any pics of the official nintendo case open? curious what the inside is like.

Odd, I had the item wish-listed and only managed to get an order in earlier today after watching out for it.

It's since been sold out.

Is this the same as yours? Link

Seems to be pretty plain in its offerings, but that could be a plus for some since there's nothing in the way to cause potential damage or unnecessary bulkiness.

yep! at the top it says "You purchased this item on January 13, 2017."

edit - FYI it looks like walmart has the official case in stock: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nintendo-Switch-Carrying-Case-and-Screen-Protector/52901842

I guess I missed it on the 13th. Oh well, I managed to snag a preorder before it sold out again earlier today.

I was going to go with Walmart if I didn't manage to snag one, but now I don't have to provide the money upfront in case I find something better as the release date approaches.

thank you for those photos! not for me I don't think. gonna go another route. thanks!

Walmart is a dicey roll.... I remember that people that ordered nes classics in November did not get them into January.. not sure if they still have fulliflled them all.

It's well-documented on now in stock.com
I feel comfortable using walmart given that the there should be more switch units available than there were nes classics. But you never know, they could screw us over again.

So I'm paranoid that for whatever reason I could have less than the money needed in my debit account when amazon finally decides to process my Switch preorder (Money moves around in my accounts a lot). If I went to a CVS or something and just got an amazon gift card for the price of the order could I use that to pay?

Yes, you can apply Amazon Gift Cards to the order whenever you please. In the event that your order fails to get a payment authorization from a card, you usually have until the end of the business day to remedy the issue before the order's cancelled.

There's a risk that your order is outright cancelled should payment fail to be gained though due to the high demand of the item. I never had a payment authorization fail for a highly sought after item, so I can't say for sure.

Yes, you can. If you go to the order details you can add a gift card balance to the order.

Yes. This is also the "secret" trick if you ever need to change billing information on Amazon for a preorder. Just buy a gift card with whatever payment you need and apply to the order. Queue order won't change.

Do we even know if Amazon is going to get any Neons? I know they were kinda feuding with Nintendo a few years ago. Didn't sell the 3DS or whatever it was at the time.

So I decided to change shipping speed for my Switch at Amazon and now it's arriving later than with free Shipping?! Should I contact them about this?

The fued was because Nintendo refused to take back their old 3DS stock with the faulty screen bezel but it seems they got over it considering we can preorder the grey Switch.

Don't know where this would go, but I was able to reserve a Switch console in person at Walmart. Luckily the Walmart nearest to me is kinda in a bad area. No one reserved the Switch at that location, so i'm good. I got Zelda, the pro controller, and bomberman all paid for on amazon. March 3rd can't come soon enough. All gray everything for me!

The Pro controller isn't up on Amazon. US?

If I can't get a preorder in, I'll just wait for the neon one to show up in store or on amazon again. Really hoping I can snag a preorder though.

This thing has an adapter for Ethernet ?

I never heard anything of this

I haven't seen it for sale anywhere yet. But all of HORI's planned accessories got leaked a few days before the big Switch conference. We had a thread about it somewhere.

I'm assuming it plugs into 1 of the 3 available USB ports on the dock.

My question is, is it USB 2.0 like both the Wii and Wii U USB Ethernet adapters or is it USB 3.1?

usually if you see that hint of blue on the inside of the port, it tends to be a USB 3.0 port. I don't know if this always holds true but it's a hint to look for.

So the port you are asking about COULD be USB 3.0.

Yep, it's an industry standard.

I really hope it's 3, but let's be real. It's probably going to be 2.0 and a low-grade broadcom chipset that won't even get close to hitting 480mbit. :\

I assumed cdx was talking about the NIC being sold, not the ports on the switch dock.

Yeah, I know the port is USB 3.0 on the dock, but I was wondering if the ethernet USB adapter itself will take advantage of that USB 3.0 port or not. I was just wondering if ethernet adapter itself could be the same USB 2.0 adapter they've had for both the Wii and Wii U, and it won't matter if you plug it into a USB 3.0 port or not.

For all I know that USB 3.0 port could be for a planned but so far unannounced external harddrive feature.
