AMAZON US Switch up

I swear I remember the product page being less wrong a week ago. I think it used to say "Switch" in the product title as well as having the correct image. The "Platform:" listing has always said Wii U, but even 1-2 Switch has that platform listing.

If you search "Breath of the Wild" on Amazon you'll be presented with 3 results right at the top. One of them is a sold out Special Edition. The other two are very clearly titled, pictured, and even categorized for Switch and Wii U.

I'm guessing everyone contacting CS telling them the Switch version is the Wii U version got someone working at Amazon confused enough to change the title of the Switch version to say Wii U because nobody seems to realize that there is simply no other product page on the website that could possibly be the Standard Edition of BotW for Switch, and there's no reason to have two Wii U version pages with Switch art on one of them.

tldr; Order that one. If you have it ordered keep it. I will be amazed if anyone ordering that version ends up with a Wii U copy instead.
 
damn was on the train, and saw it was up, but waited till I got to my office, and now its gone. Should have just snagged one. Not sure I actually want one yet though.

its odd because if you search for the game, it is mostly labeled correctly in the search results. Has Switch in the title, says Switch over the price, but still says WiiU after the title. But clicking on the listing, and there is no longer Switch in the title.

I don't think Best Buy's preorders have gone live yet, so that's probably the next place you should try if you want one.
 
As always, everyone who says "ah don't worry about *insert nintendo product here*, it will be easily available for pre-order" continues to be proven wrong.

This is Nintendo people, they don't give an FFFFFFF.

Im assuming if console pre orders actually ever do up again. Or if its the Neon pre orders for Amazon, I am guessing there will likely be a new thread made. But yeah still odd this thread hasn't been re-titled. Maybe something like "Switch hardware and accessory pre order discussions."

Anyone else's order say this:

Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.

Not sure what that means? Rest of my Switch stuff says it'll deliver the 3rd.
 
I was able to pre-order a Pro Controller, but it has no estimated arrival date.

Also cancelling my second Switch pre-order on Amazon as the Gamestop in-store one should hold and I can get that on Thursday night / early Friday instead of late Friday via Amazon / UPS.

After they fucked up release date delivery on my KH 2.8 Limited Edition when I pre-ordered in October and I could order one right now and have it arrive faster than the new "estimated" arrival date, I don't trust them to get me anything on launch date.

Also my friend doesn't need a $300 birthday gift. I buy him too much as is lmao.

You are better off using a tracking site like nowinstock but I agree.

I mean in the Black Friday 3ds thread we had people actively discussing findings and clashing about screens differences but it was never like this thread.

Even if it is sold out In a minute i imagine that someone will make a neon thread instead of letting people catch fade for ignoring this one because they got tired of coming in here only to find a Gaf member asking about 3rd party accessories.
 
I've been checking this thread for 24 hours. A friend calls for an important matter and I miss this stupid controller in that timeframe.

Have a pro controller preordered now, but would prefer to scrap it and my gray switch for a neon switch and the reverse neon joycons. Still waiting for that opportunity
 
I ordered the pro controller and don't feel all that happy about it. But I'd have bought it one day and I'd rather not be frustrating playing Zelda on day one.
 
Nintendo is getting a bit ridiculous with their products. So few people can actually get their products anymore. I feel like someone as Nintendo is saying "We don't like money so make everything as hard to get as possible". You know like that NES Classic that so few people can fine. Still have not seen one in person.

Nintendo has to be leaving hundreds of millions or even billions of profits on the table because of their decision to make everything hard to find.

Like Nintendo who is underestimating demand and hawkishly managing working capital, you are grossly over estimating demand and the business/market .

The thing is, this stuff will eventually be readily available. Launches shouldnt be a shit show, but something tells me this is really a soft launch.
 
Got the following preordered on Amazon:

Nintendo Switch - Grey
Pro Controller
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

All I need is a Neon console and I would be set, but if that never happens, I might just go with the grey and buy some different colored joycons down the line.

I'm checking Amazon the whole day then I decide to keep doing work when it doesn't seem it'll be up today, and I check this thread as I'm having lunch and it's already out.

Guess I'll keep checking until my local Gamestop that has my switch pre order allows preorders. Or my local best buy.
 
I got in an Amazon pro controller pre order but I'll probably grab one from best buy too if I can. I trust best buy more than Amazon to get me my preorder on time.
 
I wasn't gonna get a pro controller at launch, and then I remember how hard the Wii U pro controller was to find at certain points in its life so I decided to bite the bullet. I'm one of the lucky few who nabbed a preorder.

God damnit. What's the point of signing up for the Amazon email alert if it doesn't send an email to me when the item becomes available? Am I doing something wrong here?

Amazon NEVER sends those emails.

The best you can do is sign up for NowInStock. However they also didn't send the emails this time :/

Amazon's alert system is essentially useless. You'll have to use a stock notifier offered by various websites for any real chance. Following Wario64 on Twitter and enabling Tweet Notifications is another good resource.

No. Amazon alerts are useless for this kind of thing. Well mostly. They will send an alert after something is up for like a day, not right away. A couple of times they have sent special notices to people with an alert set up about how a release was going to be done but it's not often that that happens. It doesn't seem that their alerts are really for things that go fast, but more for normally restocked items that you just want to know when they get back.
