without prime it sucks... but for anyone that is interested, with prime we switched a LOT of stuff to amazon that we normally would have bought locally... between shipping costs, savings, and no tax we have easily made the cost of our prime membership back over the last year and then some. the only thing I never liked about prime is exactly what we are talking about here. That if you absolutely wanted something on release day Amazon couldn't do that most of the time. But now with the only things that release dates really matter with they will.... definitely has changed our buying habits with them considerably. The only entertainment we don't grab at this point is music because we use itunes.

Yeah, Prime is seriously amazing. I signed this fall and it's already changed all my spending habits.

You raise a good point but how many people are Prime members really? Sure there might be a high ratio on GAF but amongst gamers in general? I doubt very many. Otherwise release day shipping is like $6 and kind of a dealbreaker unless Amazon is running a sweet deal (Like the MW2 $20 credit).

How much are you paying in tax at the store? And what is your time worth to you?

Unfortunately, I live in an apartment building with a buzzer in the city, so UPS refuses to cooperate with release date delivery.

I get everything delivered to my work since there is always someone there to sign for it.
