AMD sues 4 ex-employees for leaking docs; includes next-gen console contract head

Been saying Sweetvar26 is one of the few guys on here that actually Knew what was up. He posted that shit a little too nonchalant, then just was silenced/post deleted
Doesn't he still work for AMD though? Leaking specs is one thing, but trying to sell it to a competitor is another.

I'm sure someone can roughly recall what this sweetvar said. Post here. No sense digging for something that could be gone.

Edit: If it's not interesting don't bother.

wow

Do people not know how to conduct corporate espionage anymore? WHAT THE FUCK are you doing searching for "HOW TO DELETE LARGE NUMBERS OF FILES WITHOUT DETECTION" at work!?! And then send emails incriminating each other on the same corporate system. Hasn't anyone heard of keeping this shit off the record?

Obligatory 'The Wire' reference: NIGGA IS YOU TAKING NOTES ON A CRIMINAL FUCKING CONSPIRACY?.gif

/smh
:lol :lol

It's funny because it's true.

Off the top of my head I know he came out with the Ram info for the most part in the ps4 vg thread.. Along with something else. What surprised everyone was the fact the post got deleted quick

AMD ninjas were right up his ass prolly. Gets me thinking, who would win in a fight;

AMD Ninjas vs Nintendo Ninjas?

Yeah, I see he's still an active poster and is still posting in the Orbis/Durango threads with info; though not his own anymore.

There was also a lot more, but it was unorganized and hard to sort through all the documents....

:D

AMD roadmaps, Durango plans, big interest shown in Durango project...etc

From my memory, the juicy stuff was deleted.

Yes. Due to the timing a ton seemed to be related more around the Durango and the large developer interest in it. Think that was just timing.
Is that where the "super computer architecture"/"Durango is AMD's priority" stuff came from?

Yes

Firefox + Scrapbook extension = local, exact copies. :-D

Just wish I was browsing at the time of the post...

If you search online, people have echoed what Sweetvar has said.

A) He mentioned a codename thebes.
B) He referenced a "Starsha" APU
C) Durango being higher priority 8 x 1.6 ghz jaguar info.

If I were Sony, I would be totally pissed about C. He mentioned Durango being a super computer
and Orbis delayed 6 month to be on track with Durango. Also, a pretty good insider mentioned Sony's devkits began changing in September and they upped the RAM. So his information is old, but it provided Sony enough to react.

The other big leak is the VGleaks for the Sony PS4. The one where we had the revelation of 1.84 TF and a 4 GB 192 GB/S RAM module.

Also he never mentioned performance. Things have changed A LOT since he posted his information. Sony upped the RAM in September devkits, and beefed up the GPU considerably. Things are very different now. Systems are looking to be a wash. However, his information and posting the words "starsha" on the internet caused a storm.

Yeah the "super computer" part took everyone by surprise.

Just do a search over at B3D for Sweetvar26. I'm prtty sure you'll find the info.

If it was deleted on GAF... It would also be deleted on B3D. AMD Ninjas are all over that forum too...:/

Wow, this thread has high popcorn potential but could use more conspiracy and ninjas.

Also, I seriously can't believe the level of stupid in the googling part.

There we go :p, I forget he DID mention the whole 6 month thing...was trying to remember who brought it up first.

I originally that it was Sony that went after his post but after awhile people were saying it was AMD, which would make just as much sense.

He still post, I remember seeing him post something earlier in the roadmap thread.

Yeah the "super computer" part took everyone by surprise.

I remember him being very confused and not understanding much about what he was reading. I think he was an uninformed non technical guy who happened to land on a gold mine he couldn't interpret.

Spoilers:
The leak was planned all along by the Patriots.

Yep that is what happen , he post other stuff also but it hard to figure certain things because the bits and pieces .

I don't get it. People are saying Sweetvar is one of the 4 employees?!
Sweetvar was a GAFFer who had a friend at AMD who told him a bunch of codenames and details. He couldn't exactly interpret it, and to prove he had some stuff, he posted random code names online. Well turns out, he was right about the codenames.

I don't think so. I recall reading his posts as he was putting them up, he said he was getting them from a friend. I doubt the people actually involved in swiping the documents would be posting them on Neogaf for free.

I remember lurking when sweetvar originally posted the info and it got taken down immediately after. Subscribed.

Thank you for the information.

Corporate espionage always makes for a great read. I wonder what will become of this.

So from what I'm reading:

- Sweetvar has a friend at AMD who provided him information and has documents that dated back to 2010.
- He started posting some of the info here, and a few others confirmed that he's right.
- Someone asked him to prove it and scan the document
- Sweetvar decided to do so and all his posts immediately got deleted and he got temp-ban.

That's some sizzling stuff! E3 can't come soon lol.

I wonder if this is going to result in some hot subpoena action for sweetvar and Evilore.

Anybody remember that E3 where that guy went all cloak & dagger and hid in the bleachers where they were doing the set up for Sony's conference and tweeted everything that Sony was going to do for their show?

Wow.

This must be absolute torture for those people desperate for news on the new consoles. Personally, I'm happy to wait and see whatever is revealed in due time. But yeah, for those with a penchant for tech comparisons it must be driving them nuts knowing that tangible information is so close to hand.

Can't say Im surprised to see the lockdown on info though. If those leaks are true, that has pretty major corporate implications.
