Remember when Randy used to pretend he knew Whitney and Mariah well?
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PUBLIC PLACEMENT?

MADTV
Randy: "Whitney! Me and you go way back!"
Whitney: "Who the hell are you?!"
Randy: "It's me, Randy Jackson! What's up?"
Whitney: "Hey man, I-DON'T-KNOW-YOU!"
Anyway....Shannon's gonna sing "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey
Shannon: B
She just thinks she's a WAAAAY better singer than she is. STOP going for these big songs.
And Jennifer deserves a slap for lying through her teeth like that.
Shannon: B
This song happened in two parts. First part: A passionate rendition of a....MARIAH CAREY joint?? Wow. Very sweetly performed. Second part: got completely lost in the song and it got too big for her.
WHAT
I can't believe the judges are loving this. Something HAS to be going on behind the scenes.
A B?
... Are you grading her on a curve?

Song predictions. First is what I want, second is what I think they'll do. Only one if I think it's both.

The opening was pitch perfect IMO and didn't stray too far from Mariah's rendition of it to where Shannon would suffer from being compared to the original. To quote Paula: "She made it her own"....well, the first half of it![]()
... So where was the hard rock?
... So where was the hard rock?
... Didn't stray too far?
*rewinds*
The beginning part that she sang, remember, wasn't even sung by Mariah. And while the beginning wasn't awful; she just had no support and wasn't projecting her voice at all, it was awful once she hit the bridge and had to start belting.
D+
Nowhere, it's obvious he's an alternative rock singer at his edgiest(which isn't very edgy).
Steven Tyler seems to be telling people they suck tonight. I think he's mad about the 60 Minutes interview. Lara Logan twisted Joe Perry's words and he said some egotistical stuff.
I think the performance was good for what it was, but not something I would buy.
I think that's why Steven Tyler didn't like it. Aerosmith's new album is supposed to sound like their 70s material with Jack Douglas as their producer.
i hope american idol lasts long enough for somebody to be able to perform Stupid Hoe as the song from their year of birth
I was surprised at how much Aerosmith still brings it from that 60 Minutes.
Fan of the band but kind of lost touch with many from that era.
I even liked Stephen Tyler's song he did on Idol a year ago.
Dude can still sing.
