Since it hasn't been said yet this week and is long overdue:

Anybody get the feeling that Fox has given up on making the audition portion of the show anything but a freakshow? I really think so many of these folks are paid actors.

Each city so far the auditions have mostly been freaks and then they show us that quick hit of the people who DID get through and we've only actually seen 5 of them during the hour? WTF?

16 or 17 is just too young for this competition now. Unless you are some child professional like Diana Degarmo (sp) (runner up, season 3).

Looking up her bio, she is almost 24 years old now. So, she would have been 20-21 yrs old when she auditioned.


It's VERY rare for a teenager to make it far in this competition. Especially now that they raised the age allowances. They are even talking about raising it to 30 yrs old next year.

The people they chose all seem very strong in the vocal department. Every year theres alway a large amount of people that clearly suck but this season the field is leveled.
