Sanjaya was f'n terrible.

He was a creation of internet hype by people trying to hijack the show. I'm glad he's been put out of my misery.

I hate flaming on the intersnets, but you guys are morons. Sanjaya has zero personality. He can't answer questions, he can't smile without showing his chihuahua teeth, he can't speak in a normal voice. He's ****ing blank.

I didn't mind him being on the show because no one except Melinda or Blake is really good this season, so he wasn't taking up any valuable spots. But having him on was pointless.

And who cares who wins it? Where ever they got or will get kicked off, Sanjaya, Melinda, and Blake will all get record deals. No, he wasn't. His becoming a sensation was entertainment for you. And I bet the entertainment was heightened for you when people started hating him.

Agreed, Agreed, Agreed!!!

That was the case for me...does that make me a bad guy?

Seriously, if he was that bad...how did he make it to Hollywood? And the subsequent cuts by the Judges after that?

Where did I say I was capitvated by Sanjaya's interview prowess? The guy was entertaining because he was a visual and audio trainwreck every week and it made the show worth watching. And I'd rather sit through a blank stare, tooth filled Sanjaya Q&A than have to watch Melinda Doolittle shrug her shoulders and go into turtle mode with her "O golly gee whiz I don't know if I gots any talent" schtick or listen to Phil tell us again how it's a blessing just to be on the show. Zzzz....

I don't care who wins American Idol or who or who doesn't gets a record deal. Sanjaya made me laugh my ass off and that was more than enough for me to want to keep him on the show.

By the way, props to Melinda for refusing to pick which group she thought was the bottom three. That was a shitty thing to ask her to do, and she handled it perfectly.

Eh, you knew it was coming eventually and I can't say I'll really miss him. He just hasn't been entertaining enough lately to warrant the whole "this would be funny" vote. He didn't embrace why his fanbase was voting for him and it almost seemed like he was trying to sing decently the last few gos. I dread to think that there's still several shows left. Just give the damn thing over to Melinda already. If it is indeed a singing competition, then she'll win, hand's down. But all the interesting people, the cute girls...and the whatever the hell Sanjaya was are gone and I've got no real reason to watch anymore. I was, at best, only watching the last few shows in the background. Unless Ryan and Simon do what everyone is yearning for, break past their regressed sexual desire for one another, and make out live on the stage, the rest of the season should prove fairly boring.

I think next show will be pretty entertaining. AI does a pretty good job mixing in stars with their contestants. For some reason, I am actually interested in seeing Kelly Clarkson sing again. She seems to have shunned the whole America Idol thing, once she left their label.

Overall, I'm still kind of interested to see if Jordin can continue to improve and steal this away from Melinda.

They do this every year. Bo did it too. At this point it's expected that the person won't pick a group. It's kind of lame.

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Melinda will win. She is an amazing singer, but Jordin is great too and (I think) fits the "Idol" mold a little better. I think the last 2 weeks have the potential to be very dramatic.

i just really wanted him to knock out someone like lakisha first, before he left. that would have been amazing and caused a huge uproar.

I just wanted him to embrace the joke, to out out there and sing some rap music on country-theme day. I wanted young girls to cry at his unabashed ambiguous sexual appeal. I wanted the Sanjaya America demanded.

I don't understand all these people that need a "reason" to watch the show. What were you watching it for in the first place? I mean, it's season 6. I could see if it was season 1 or 2, but come on, by now you know what this show is about. Tune in or tune out.

I've always watched it because I either had a favorite "singer" (again, a favorite "singer") or whoever was left was a great singer.

Aside from season 5 (when the final two was pretty much all we had), the rest of the seasons were filled with legitimate talent. This year, there is a lot of faux-talent: Blake is original but can't sing; Phil sounded his best one week out of nine; Chris sounds horrible with his nasally voice; Lakisha is good but reeks of "been there, done that"; and Jordin is pretty consistent but sometimes I think her voice gets a little screechy sometimes (a la Katharine McPhee). Melinda is the only real talent.

This'll be the first time when I didn't finish an entire season. I just don't care about ANY of the contestants.

And there she'll be, looking all surprised and humbled that she won. I hate her so. :D

Sanjaya's sister reminds me of Dualla from Battlestar - who also has big cans. :D
Nah, Dualla's strength isn't in her cans (which aren't that big btw), it's the backside of her :).

I wonder if the judges are going to start heavily promoting Jordin now because she is so much more marketable than Melinda is.

True. The episode where she was training with Apollo and things got a little intimate. Good lord. Sweat pants never had it better than that booty.

And I found this funny...

Well put. I don't think the contestants of this season stand out like prior seasons. All the good-looking and/or interesting contestants (Antonella, Gina, Haley, Sanjaya) have been voted off.

The remaining contestants are vanillia except for Blake, who has his own vibe and at least a decent taste in music.

I like that all the Sangina fans are saying they're not going to watch the rest of the season, when they are in fact going to watch the rest of the season. :lol

It's complete and utter bullshit. So just stop lying to your selves, please. *cue "No honest, I'm really not! posts*

I was all for the whole "Sanjaya irony running joke!" thing in the beginning (Didn't go so far as to vote, I never do vote in this type of thing), but as he kept winning, and as I saw other people who had some genuine talent/potential leave while he was still there.. it started to get annoying. I'm just glad he got booted and the joke wore off as we started to get to the finals.

Though I have to admit, seeing Sanjaya make it to the finals and actually having a chance to win it would have been CRAZY! :lol And I would have been all for it. (The internets would have melted down) But I knew it would never get to that point.

This is the first season of AI I have ever watched in my life btw. I know of some of the winners of the previous seasons and everything, but I never decided to watch a season until now. (Anyone else notice how Simon is right 95.5% of the time?)

I love how reality show fans get all bent out of shape when a bit of reality is injected into their television program. When people on "the Real World" show hit each other it's "shocking" or when someone stuck on a tropical island in "Survivor" gets hurt people can't believe it. Now a popularity contest is temporarily subverted by voters who decide not to pick the prettiest or most talented for a change and America's TV viewers are near apoplexy.

Sanjaya was the freak in the party of "cool kids" that is American Idol. It was fun to try and keep him there, throwing them off kilter. Now that he's been forcefully removed, there's no point in giving it any more of my attention.

When my favorite got voted off, my 2nd favorite always made it to the finale, thusly giving me a reason to watch...except for last season (season 1: Tamyra Gray and Kelly Clarkson; season 2: Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard...though I wanted Ruben to win; season 3: Fantasia Barrino and Jennifer Hudson; season 4: Vonzell Solomon and Carrie Underwood; and last season my favorites were Elliott Yamin and Paris Bennett...and Chris Daughtry to some extent).

This year, I don't care who wins. For realz.

Blake, Melinda, Jordin, Phil, Chris and Lakisha could all be voted off next week in one big swoop, forced to go back and live lives of obscurity and I wouldn't bat an eye.

I mean, of course, some way or another, I'll find OUT what happens but I am not going to watch at all (and I won't download the episodes, either).

I've been a fan since day 1. Never before have I been so turned off by a season. When Sanjaya made the top 12, he became my sole reason for watching.

who is that?

i wouldnt put it past the producers of the show.

:(

He some guy at Idolforums.com that usually reveals the song selections, the performance orders, and what he says is a ranking of the contestants in terms of votes received.

He says that it went like this:

7. Melinda
6. Jordin
5. Blake
4. Chris
3. Sanjaya
2. Phil
1. Lakisha

He also says that the only time they rigged the boot was back in season 1. He says that Nikki McKibbin actually had more votes than Justin Guaranni, but they wanted Justin instead.

Song spoilers for tonight ( show is taped this week)
Chris Richardson “If I Could Change The World” by Eric Clapton - He wore a tie and jacket.
Melinda Doolittle “There Will Come A Day” by Faith Hill - She wore a gray dress.
Blake Lewis “Imagine” by John Lennon - He wore a purple shirt and jacket.
LaKisha Jones “I Believe” Season 3 coronation song - She wore a black strapless dress.
Phil Stacey “The Change” by Garth Brooks - He wore a blue shirt and jacket.
Jordin Sparks “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from the musical “Carousel” - She wore a beige dress.

Lakisha must be crazy, brave, or really want to go home.

There are spoilers all over the web (judges comments, audience reaction and everything). There seriously is no reason for me to watch tonight :lol

Yeah, I might pass on tonight as well. Nothing incredibly exciting.

It might be worth it though to see Lakisha trying to get off the show.

According to the spoilers, Melinda was the best (surprise) and everyone else either got undeserved praise, undeserved criticism (I hear this was directed at Lakisha) or simply sucked (like Blake does every week).

What an exciting season.

Jordan forever! I am falling in love with her.

If she keeps this up AI is hers for the taking.

Chris needs to GTFO asap. JT wanna be talentless piece of crap.
