I think the poster said it best, when they said adam should be on broadway, I just dont see him being commercial, dosent mean he cant sing.jett said:You guys don't like Adam? I think he's the best by miles. In fact I don't really give a shit about anyone else this season.

Zeni said:Allison's my favorite overall. The most consistent of all the contestants, and her performance last week was the best of the season IMO.

tardisdiva said:Allison's vocal cords are completely trashed. She is 16, yet sounds like a 70 year-old chain smoker. She may have a good natural talent, but she is far removed from being the best vocalist this season.
She is going end up with vocal nodules in the next year, mark my words. Just painful to listen to.

tardisdiva said:Thank you. Sad but true. She has great potential, but she needs to take a year off and get some serious training.
offtopic said:People are way to clinging to Kara's early criticisms of being too 'broadway'. Thats just crazy talk at this point. Yes, he is lstill earning how to relate to a camera but he has come a long way since auditions/hollywood.

SteveMeister said:...and DialIdol currently has the bottom three as Anoop, Allison and Megan. The only ones considered safe are the top three, Danny, Kris and Adam, in that order.
The judges will exercise their save on Allison if she's voted off this week, but I'm pretty sure it'll be Megan.
SteveMeister said:Anoop: Horrible song, boring performance. He should stick to ballads.
Megan: Terrible, again. She really, really needs to go.
Danny: Really good performance, and a great song choice.
Allison: Not as good as last week, but she's still one of my favorites. Boo to the judges for focusing on her outfit -- they're submarining her AGAIN.
Scott: His best performance so far. It'll keep him safe this week. He's still not good enough to be one of the top contenders, though.
Matt: Weak performance, bad song. He's in trouble. It was exactly the wrong thing to do.
Lil: Not very good. Pitchy, and she was shouting the song by the end.
Adam: He's the most talented singer this show has ever seen. There's never been another Idol contestant with anything like the vocal control he's got. This wasn't as good as last week, but it was still great.
Kris: Best performance of the night. I was speculating that he might be forgotten compared to Matt, but he's been killing it the last couple weeks.
He misses the point of what they are saying; they aren't trying to criticize him because they want to control him artistically, it's because he actually sucks trying to do Coldplay and doesn't have the skills to do it. It's the same thing they'd tell Lil Rounds if she tried to play Bon Jovi songs on "contestant's choice" week; nobody is gonna want to buy Matt Giraud's album of Coldplay clones just like no one would want to hear Rounds doing rock music.MIMIC said:God, they're fucking casting Matt. How DARE you sing something that isn't piano-R&Bish!
See, but that's to the point; letting the audience vote on it generally works itself out. They may not have "wanted" Taylor to win, but ultimately Taylor winning shows why winning is irrelevant; Daughtry wouldn't have sold more or less albums if he had won in my opinion.JCX said:I don't think they"fix" the show either. If it were ever found out that they didn't count votes, the show would be over.
That said, you could not convince me they wanted Taylor to win season 5 unless you got the producers themselves to tell me.
yes, the primary goal of the show is the show itself (hence simon's "casting" comment on wildcard night). However, the show loses some of its appeal if they can't brag about the success of its winners (and Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson).
There are numerous examples of things occurring so that a desired outcome is achieved because, like I said, they need to be able to brag about the success of former contestants.
Paznos said:Anyone not really liking this season compared to the last few seasons?
Compared to last year I liked Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, Brooke White(yes I liked her:lol ) David Hernandez, Chikezie, and kinda liked Ramiele.

Is that really the #1 song in America? What the fuck is wrong with kids today?
