I'm an Adam fan, but that s was painful. Syesha did it better last year.

Yes, yes she did.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought Adam's 2nd song fell flat. I didn't agree with the judges at all.

It started off ok but by the end it was painful.

Wow, last song was just horrible, for both contestants.

Adam should win.

Kris proved allot in the past 2 weeks. Still his best performance was Heartless.

Kris was the 3rd or 4th best this season but not #2. Allison was by far the 2nd best and is a better/more interesting singer.

Been watching Idol since the very first season, and this was by far my favorite finale. It could have been a bit more exciting with Allison in instead of Kris, but he sang his heart out.

I like both of them, but I ended up voting for Adam. I've just never seen or heard anything like him. He's captivating and I love it. I honestly do believe that we saw a superstar being born on this season of Idol.

Paula finally said something real.

Adam has the potential to be someone truly world wide. Truly iconic.

Give me a fuckin break. Both will sell cd's with Adam selling more and then fade away into nothing. Even Carrie Underwood isn't what I would call an iconic figure and I doubt Adam reaches her level of success.

True that...there's never been an Idol finale where I find myself actually rooting for either contestants to win...I'm leaning towards Adam grabbing the title but I won't mind at all if Kris ends up the winner

Am I the only one who wants Kara fired? There should be some sort of petition. She ruined the finale.

This was worse than "I want to be inside your heaven." or whatever it was.

The last song sucked, but Kara is infinitely more bearable than Paula. At least she doesn't have the same opinion after every song; and she's actually capable of giving constructive criticism.

I didn't watch the finale(only seen the performances online). What's the deal with Kara?

She's unbearably annoying, and not just in a cute "I'm overmedicated." way like Paula. She obviously can't write songs because she wrote the worst Idol finale song in history, a song so bad that even the most talented Idol contestant ever couldn't sing it.

Ah so she wrote that song. I already heavily disliked her anyway. :P I just don't like her attitude or personality at all.

BTW haters Change is Gonna Come was flat out amazing, confirming that there's no competition to be found here.

No, sorry. There's a difference between a bad song writer, and a bad judge. If paula doesnt come back next season i'll be fine. Every thing she says she sugar coats, but Kara gives constructive criticism.

Horrible song writer, for sure.

Well every song writer has their ups and downs I suppose...

I wouldnt say that Kara doesn't sugarcoat her comments at all but yeah, she HAS been a better judge than Paula, in almost every single goddamn episode imo..in a competition like this, I'd much rather listen to criticisms from someone who has SOME skills in songwriting AND singing than a has-been pop artist who's been having more success at dance choreography

I don't think people are giving Kara a fair sahot. Imagine if "pitchy" Randy or "medicated" Paula wandered onto the panel as a new judge this season. I expect Kara to do better next season. She does need to learn to shorten her critiques though

wow @ the link. Didn't know Kara could sing like that.

Listened to adam's "A change is gonna come" agan, and I still like Syesha's better. She was underrated her whole season. What annoyed me most is that Adam seemed to miss the pain of the song, choosing to go into vocal gymnastics instead. The worst offense being "My change is gonna come" instead of the regular lyric.

Sort of felt myself agreeing with the judges tonight.

First songs - Kris' performance was better. You sort of have to admit, this song is basically the worlds most perfect song for him and he capitalized on that. Adam was close behind but the new arrangment was a small step back from the one he did earlier this season. Thought I might have sensed some fatigue in his voice as well (?).

Second songs - Adam was unbelievable with Change is Gonna Come. Mind blowing stuff. Kris was ok but nothing you wouldn't hear by any number of mediocre performers.

Third song - lol? Both of the guys tried their asses off to do something with this mess. Adam basically proved he could sing the dictionary because the dictionary is probably better than that crap. The friggin background singer from hell made a reappearance but he basically polished that turd of a song into the shiniest, most awesome turd you can imagine. Kris was out of his range artistically and vocally and forgot the words at one point.

I think Kris is going to win mostly because of the David v. Goliath thing and because adam is polarizing. If 40% of people love what adam does and would buy his music but 60% loathe him while 10% of the people would buy kris' music but the other 90% think he is pretty cool then guess who wins? Guess who sells more music?

Kris can sing a mean coffee shop acoustic and might be able to turn out a hit or two if he stumbles into a song in his specific wheelhouse (think jason mraz).

The sky is the limit for adam although he probably will not win. His challenge will be to find or create a niche palatable to the mainstream (like most of his AI performances). Think jamie foxx basically stated this in a recent interview - something about adam can "go stratosphere" if he makes the right music. Will he make the right music? Certainly hope so since he is a rare combination of belief-defying vocals combined with a dominating stage presence.

Holy shit.. Dial Idol has Kris at 61.2 and Adam at 60.8 or something

FUCK.. This will be epic.
A virtual tie in DialIdol scoring should probably indicate a Kris Allan victory tonight due to how that guy cleans up on text voting like nobody's business (something which DialIdol doesn't measure).

That being said, I wouldn't bank on it 100%. But there's a pretty strong likelihood and I'd say he needs the title more than Lambert does anyhow.

I've been rooting for Kris and Allison for some time while undervaluing Adam for a number of reasons, none of which he was responsible for, but I have to say that if Adam doesn't win this competition it would be a travesty.

He might not be the most likable, or packing to easiest vocals on the ear, but he's by far the most talented contestant since this show began, no question.

I'm glad that Kris made it this far, but he really doesn't belong in the top two. It was supposed to be Allison or Gokey (even though the latter bore me to sleep). This Kris craze is gonna wear off as soon as the show ends and people would realize what a horrible mistake they made if he turns out to be the winner.

Oh and Kara ruined the final song, but I want her to stay just to prove that a judge's job it to critique and not fawn over heartthrobs like little girls. She's been great at speaking her mind and giving relevant feedback, whether they decide to keep her or not is up to them but please, PLEASE, take Paula off the show. I'm not lying when I say that for the past 3 season I've been fastforwarding her parts.

Allison was great and deserved to be in the top 2, but the judges constantly undermined her.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter who wins at this point, since both contestants will have careers after this.

Allison would have OWNED Kara's song. That song is totally made for a good strong female voice. I feel like Kris and Adam both kind of sucked last night. Except for round 1. I have a sneaking suspicion Kris will pick up a huge chunk of Gokey/Allison votes.

Do we have the studio versions of Kara's song sung by the two contestants?

Watching the shit last song without a functional DSL at home and not being able to blast it in real time sucked!!!!

KARA YOUR SONG SUCKED...though I bet Gokey would have killed it, it was corny, and he did corny well.

I think Kris will win...Adam is amazing, but after 12 weeks of him, I realized his shrieking grew old and I have no idea wtf his CD will sound like...if you like his ballads, you'll like 2 songs..if you like his glam rock, you'll like 2 songs...etc...he has too many sides to keep his audience unified. (He is incredibly gifted, not saying he isnt). He should just go into a rock band and be a star, and not be 10 different things and flop (from a sales perspective).

Kris should just go the Jack Johnson-esque route, and play stuff thats chill, and easy on the ears, and tour the wheels off his bus building up 'singer/song writer' cred and have a long career, and not try to be 'super-pop singer guy' they will surely try to make him and ruin him in one CD.

Admit it, we all hate Kara because of that expression she makes when she's trying really hard to sound academic about the contestants. I call it her "bitch face." Call me sexist, but those are the only words that come to mind when she furrows her brow and puckers her lips.

That, and the pinchy fingers pose. And the fact that she's supposed to bring teh knowledge, but apparently doesn't know:

- That Aerosmith's Dream On is older than the "classic" Cryin.
- That Falling Slowly is pretty damn well known.
- That there are eight words in eight word sentences.

That song is totally made for a good strong female voice.
That song is totally made for Hannah Montana.

Adam should have done "Tracks of my Tears," but the more subdued Mad World was good. Kris was just aite for me dawg, but good lookin out and all that. Give Adam the win with a narrow margin.

That boring idiot is going to win and I can't even remember his name. Eyeborws, guitar.

Adam was robbed (preemptively) and at least this time Simon basically admitted the song was total shit.

The songs are an embarassment. I was amused to hear it was co-written by the once amazingly hot Cathy Dennis though. Om nom nom. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G3BEJVYKnY

God I will be so fucking happy if the screeching, most-whored contestant in this show's history didn't win. It would be like if Nader won an election :lol

Adam should win. He's one of the only Idol contestants ever to actually have star quality and real talent (ie, more than bland karaoke takes on songs). Kris seems like a nice kid, but he couldn't be more boring or run of the mill. Regardless of who wins, Adam has already made the cover of Entertainment Weekly and will be a star either way. Win or lose, Kris will be forgotten very quickly.

Fixed.

I really, really hope Adam loses. Badly. :D

It's very close. Both deserve to win, but Kris needs a win more than Adam, whose future success is absolutely assured. In fact, while I think Adam is more talented than Kris, at this point I'd prefer a Kris win because then Adam won't have to sing that piece of crap coronation song again, either tonight or on his first album.

Quick: who was on the cover of Entertainment Weekly two weeks ago?

...that's what I thought. :p

Theatrical is good and needed in todays pop climate. We have enough goddamn people who just sit in one spot without moving making pained expressions the entire way through their songs.

Its so odd that 'theatrical' has become a pejorative. Wtf is wrong with you people?

If I wanted theatrics, I'd go to a Broadway show. I certainly won't be buying any Broadway albums in the near future.

And also, you don't need to be THEATRICAL to be entertaining.

You don't become big by having a good voice. Tons of people have fantastic vocals and never make it anywhere.

You need to bring something else to the table, and with Adam it's his showmanship. With Kris it's...what?

Kris puts together nice arrangements and has a great smooth voice, but his concert wouldn't be nearly as entertaining than an Adam concert.

That's what everyone said about Taylor Hicks, Blake Lewis, Bo Bice, etc. And that their competitors are "boring" and would pale in comparison to so-and-so's concert.

Nope but it helps when its in your arsenal to be theatrical. Thats the thing...someone who is has the talent to be theatrical can choose to not be theatrical when it suits their purpose. The reverse doesn't work at all (hello koffeehouse kris).

BTW, many current chart-topping pop performers are highly theatrical. Yes you might not buy their stuff (but I'm guessing you probably do) but it is a talent that translates into success.

You can simplify anyone. Both deserve to win it. It isn't like Gokey is in the finale.

MIMIC ranting about Adam = Cheebs ranting on New Star Trek Movie :lol

God Kris is so FUCKING Generic. His first song was good even for him, but Adam took the last two.

Change is Gonna Come had so many levels and worked on a gay civil rights level considering Adam sang it. Ryan inferred as much at the end.

Whatsawho your implying about Adam Krips?:lol

That song is totally made for Hannah Montana.

And thats the problem with Kara. That song was way too Disney and nobody can sing that type of song but Miss Cyrus and Allison. Thank God Simon stated he hated it. All of his produced end themes were better.

Is it me, or is Fox and 19 so fucking money hungry they couldnt do Kodak this year or am I mistaken?

The problem is that if Adam doesnt win Idol he will get lost in the shuffle. The Industry is too well intrenched and snooty beyond belief - Adam Needs Idol more than Idol needs Adam. I know he has a record deal in the works if he loses but he still needs to win the whole thing. Hudson had act before she got any sort of success and the majority of the country could care less about her talent - otherwise she would be bigger than Miss Knowles-Carter. Underwood only went so far but she had the folk and the right songs. Adam is the next (and in my opinion the last true) American WorldWide Superstar. And if he fails it would not be on his sholders, it would on the record producers and industry because there connections and distros are BOHICA'd.

In terms of dialidol, is this the first times someone who has never lead a week has ever come all the way to the finale and finally take the lead the final week. This has never happend, usually the favorite wins. It just leads me to believe that a lot of the votes for Kris are actually just votes against Adam. And I dont mean the whole gay aspect, I am talking about the way he sings, clearly he is very polarizing.

lol if Adam actually lose this, you really can't pin it down on his vocal ability as he's proven exactly that with his more subdued performances...A win for Kris would only mean more people having a distaste for Adam's theatrical/flamboyant style...

Well...I guess its been quite a while since the more talented singer loses the title eh? ;)

Her saying that he should have done an older more classic song like Cryin rather than Dream On was the highlight idiot moment of the season for me.

Theatrical changes nothing about what I posted.

Adam Lambert is no question the most vocally talented AI contestant thusfar. You can try and shit on him with "screeching" and "theatrical" all day long, but from a vocal standpoint he is unparalled.

Please study voice theory and come back.

How else could've we been introduced to Gokey's one-note shriek!! Thank God Kara didn't rob us of that glorious moment!
