My opinion is that the gay issue didn't affect Adam in the way that everyone thinks here.
Read the news about text message overages. What age range sends the most text messages? 13-16 year old girls. What is the hottest thing ever to these girls? Cute guys who sing mellow and play guitar over their knee. These young girls are more likely to send 39432490324 text message votes than the older viewers who seemed to favor Adam (for the most part). I had seem many of the older crowd compare him to Elvis. The young girls didn't necessarily go gaga over Adam because the gay glam rocker doesn't get them wet.
Kris is generic garbage. If he is to have a place in the music industry, it should be behind the scenes helping other artists with arrangements. He created some great arrangements, but his voice severely lacked. Adam is exciting.
Adam WILL be an icon. It's a shame he got screwed, but hey, Michael Jordan didn't make his high school basketball team.
You know, I bet there is some truth to this and could have been a deciding factor, but I doubt it's that extreme. I only voted once. I thought of voting more to counterbalance the same exact usage stated above, but went against it. Once is enough for me. I showed my support. It's more than I would have originally given, and I'm only one person. I'm not going to pretend that my voice matters more than anybody else's.
The gay issue could have had a bit to do with it too. I didn't think so initially because I never blog about the show or read other people's entries. Let alone articles off news sites, but looking back now... wow. I thought America was done with hate mongering. The photos that leaked out over the net, articles and editorials treating this as if it was an issue... some people are just vindictive by nature. Happens when you confuse humanity with religion. I don't think it's a gay issue per say. More a feminine issue. America loves to stereotype, and often is a key part in their decision making. Remember Ricky Brady from earlier in the season? I still can't figure out why he never cracked the Top 13, but, if true, this would explain it.
What we need is a gay contestant that doesn't live up to the stereotype with word only getting out once the finale is over. Now that would be delicious. Maybe someone from GAF should try out. :lol I'm sure we have plenty of talented singers, and GAF would not disappoint. You would have our full... dammit, I forgot the word. Whatevs, you'd have that and more. Oh wait, just remembered the word. SUPPORT! Yep, you'll have that... and stuff. Yeah...
God, I'm already bored and shit. American Idol has now become all serious and crap. This has nothing to do with a singing competition, and almost takes the fun away completely.
