West coast, you're filthy all around.
I didn't realize Central Cali's and SoCal's predictable placement on this list constitute the entire west coast.

Well you can certainly tell something is wrong when you visit Riverside.

about a year ago i took a wrong turn on a trip down to fontana and wound up in riverside (jurupa's one fucked up street). it was weird as hell.

Now I see why Adam used to rip the shit out of Riverside and Bakersfield everytime they got a caller from there on Loveline.

Eh, I wouldn't base the entirety of Riverside on Jurupa. That portion is definitely fucking weird, though; it looks like TJ.

Is it the time of the month for the geography picture?

Pennsylvania as a whole seems like it's going to get a lot worse, especially with a newly elected GOP governor. Sometimes I argue with people on one of the local newspaper's websites when stories arise about things like the state of natural gas drilling and fracking in this state. It astounds me that these people (typically relatively well-to-do business owners) seem to legitimately believe that there are absolutely no deleterious effects from fracking despite all evidence to the contrary. (Flammable tap water FTW?)

there's a jurupa also up by scandia. dunno if it's the same street or not. whenever we would go home back in the day, we'd take the ontario-jurupa exit and it would take us to other side streets in fontana until we got home. but i didn't take the freeway this time, i took mission, and when i saw jurupa i thought i knew what i was doing, but i didn't have my driver's license until we moved, so i got lost.

anyway, i wound up around ucr or something.

Eh, there is oil being drilled and coal mined in the bumble-fuck part of the state. I do not see how natural gas drilling is going to make things worse than the natural resources already being mined/drilled.

Edit: How is Newark, NJ not on the list? The air there is so nasty. Even when I have to take the train from Philly to NY and stop to pick up people in Newark, you can smell the rancid air when the doors open.

Riverside is alright if you stay around UCR. But once you venture beyond that... Well, any time you go to a grocery store of fast food restaurant... I've never seen anything like in person.

1. Philadelhia, PA
2. Bakerfield, CA
3. Fresno, CA
4. New York, NY
5. Baton Rogue, LA
6. Los Angeles, CA
7. Houston, TX
8. St. Louis, MO
9. Salt Lake City, UT
10. Riverside-San Bernardino, CA

Congratulations, Philly. California, you're filthy all around.

Surprised Denver didn't make the list...it gets pretty nasty here sometimes.

Denver occasionally get the Brown Cloud, but it's mostly just around Downtown, and isn't that often.

Also, it's nowhere near as bad as other cities that have the smog regularly.

They are only measuring artificial toxins, not human smells.

If the north was a family, Philly would be the ugly inbred cousin nobody likes.

Dirty is not Toxic.

Manhattan is ostensibly surrounded by super-fund sites, only reason it is not number one is because they are buried under water.

you ain't from around here are you, boy.

judging from the water that comes put my faucet, Riverside should be higher.
I mean, like number one.

Honestly, when I think of Houston, the only things that come to mind are pollution and humidity.
I'd much rather live in Houston than the DFW metroplex though.

and Austin and San Antonio before that.

Are you crazy? I go to UCR, and it's the worst part of Riverside.

Yeah, riding bikes in Riverside, I end up getting covered in a thin layer of dirt by the end of the day.

What the fuck?
