Amiibos are pissing me off, because I actually want them for there intended reason, which is to UNLOCK EXTRA CONTENT IN GAMES I HAVE PURCHASED!!!!! There are outfits in Mario Kart I will never have unless I decide to get ass raped on ebay or amazon to get the figure. So frustrating...

I wonder why Nintendo won't sell some of the things Amiibos unlock like the outfits? It seems like a lot of people are just buying them for the figures for the most part, compared to their game functions. Sell it as DLC and include with Amiibos. Best of both worlds!

stop buying amiibos, that's your first step.

the good thing is you're probably not someone that opens them so sell the and feel good about the profit you'll make.

Amiibos could encourage Nintendo to create new IPs. The public will only buy so many variations of Mario, Link, and Pikachu amiibos. But releasing new ones in conjunction with new games with fresh characters will keep the money train going.

I see Amiibos as beanie babies, cabbage patch kids, pogs, furby, etc etc.

In a few years time, it'll just be more plastic garbage that someone spent thousands of dollars on stuffed in a box somewhere. /shrug

Why sell the $5 digital DLC when can sell you the $15 figure DLC.

If Nintendo offered all of the DLC unlockables on their e-shop, I don't see Amiibo slaes dropping more than 5%. And that is being generous.

They already said that they are planing on bringing NFC along with the next console cycle. Amiibos are going to stay for a while, at least as long as they are selling.

I went to the shops to get Splatoon and saw the triple amiibo pack for $50. The game was $58.

I would be lying if I wasn't tempted.

But I did not succumb.

I get amiibo when I can but I'm not gonna go searching all over kingdom come just for one. And I certainly would never let them get in the way of my purchasing of games.
