The Dragona thing went deeper. Evilore found out that her boyfriend had been using her account for years and a lot of people had been banned by him for spurious reasons, and Evilore was given a choice between demodding her or giving him his own mod account.

The boyfriend had probably the worst and shortest-lived mod career on GAF where people got banned over nothing, awful threads were left unchecked because he was too busy arguing in them, threads got retitled left and right for dumb reasons, and they still kept using each others' accounts for mod actions anyway, so they both got demodded when EL finally got sick of it.

I can understand why he's polarizing but I do enjoy reading some of his posts.

And most of the time it's received the same way by people. Make a post or thread detailing how you think Nintendo makes bad games or childish games but without strong, negative language. I'm willing to bet you'll still get plenty of posts immediately dismissing you or mocking you.

From what I can see, Amir0x rubbed people the wrong way because his strong opinions were backed up by this kind of hyper-reductive logic that doesn't make sense. Like his whole "if you like X then your mental faculties are corrupted therefore I cannot listen to anything you say regardless of the subject or your reasoning" thing. People got pissed off because he was trying to objectify taste.

I mean, at one point IIRC he actually more or less said anybody who thinks _____ is okay lies because nobody would honestly believe that. Just insert whatever he was on about as being horrible in the blank.

The thread turned out to be a mixed bag and I learned a thing or two.

The dude goes on using his username in GAF, I think he deserves to catch a break. Point is, I don't think anybody here came with an idea how we could stop negative comments about him on Youtube.

Ultimately people would have to get tired of the meme and forget about Amir0x, but the only real idea I can think of is to downvote and mark as spam the comments people leave to show they aren't appreciated.

Then again they'll get upvoted too many times in response.

I am genuinely curious, I don't mean to sound like an ass, but I always see "Amir0x" name all over GAF. But how is it pronounced actually?

Ameerr-rex? Amour-rex?


Amir: pronounced same as the word "Prince" in Arabic? and "rex" as in Tyrannosaurus rex?

or...

Amir (same as above) rox...sounds like Xerox...Amirox?
