Looking pretty bad there, Pete. The lame "it's a stunt suit" excuse is just that. Plus the shininess of it, in both the official an unofficial picture, gives the impression of bodypaint. :|

Other than the silver on the feet and the "belt" design not coming all the way around, I like it. It does have a track/cyclist look to it but for the character, I think that's fine. Really interested what this will look like under official lighting.

With the thin red lines, glove and boot design and the metal on the shoes and webshooters.... Reminds me of the Ben Reilly costume.

Just lacks the metal belt and the torn blue t-shirt over the top .

People having these kneejerk reactions based on a paparazzi photo from the filming of a superhero movie baffles the fuck out of me. We've seen the suit in a legitimate photo with the right lighting and it looked fine; if you took a picture like this from virtually any film with any costumes or fantasy elements, it's going to be very similar.

Sure, I was quick to judge Garfield in his Peter Parker swag but I think the costume looks awesome.

A lot of things look silly until seen with things like proper cinematography.

edit: tried to clean up my first sentence =\

This. That X-Men First Class film is what everyone should worry about. With that film, they've shown us costume in the right lighting and yet most of the casts look like rejects from "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me". This, OTOH, we've seen the costume in the right lighting and it looks good.

It looks bright because it has to be, it's shot at night. Anyone who knows photography will know a lot of light is needed to make it look right at night, that and it's better to overexpose film than to underexpose.

It will NOT look like that in the final film.

it doesn't look too flattering in that picture, but it'll look a million times better in the movie. duh.

is this going to be shot in 3d? it seems all the rage nowadays...

that really does look like a game screenshot -- forget the suit design, reality needs to upgrade its lighting and ground textures

More along the lines of "film lights are bright as fuck."

I don't see why so many people dislike it. It looks like Spider-Man. I don't see anything wrong with it. Once it hits the editing room the suit will take on the "movie look". Some of you who think what we see is literally what it's going to look like have never been on a set before or watched a making of feature.

What? Ultimate Spiderman's suit looked just like regular Spiderman's.
Exactly. I don't know where people are getting that from. Ultimate Spidey is just skinnier and lankier than regular Spidey. His hair was virtually the same and the costume was the same.

Man, that guy is hilarious. I love his sketches. Especially the ones where he completely tilts a room but acts like it's horizontal

The old Michaelf Program was awesome. Sean really is a funny son of a bitch. I wish he would do another Sketch comedy show.

I wonder if the papparazzi like shots are enough to get the studio to release some official ones to stem the tide?

Anywa, it's not the lighting or anything that I,m not overly impressed with but the design of the suit itself. I'll reserve judgement until I see some movement, though.

They might release a full shot of the suit depending on how bad the complaining gets.

I'm currently reading Ultimate Spider-Man for the first time and am absolutely loving it.
My interest in Spider-Man was previously based entirely on the 90s cartoon, the first two Raimi films, and general info I'd read about on the internet, so actually reading a Spider-Man comic is actually pretty refreshing and probably the most fun I've had with the character.

If they're using this 'Ultimate Spider-Man' run as inspiration for this new film then I'm pretty excited because so far (I'm about 17 issues in) it's fantastic.
Reading the Ultimate version has also converted me on the whole 'big eyed Spidey' thing.
Before I'd preferred the more traditional look, but I think I now actually prefer a mask with bigger lenses. Looking at the leaked photos it doesn't seem like we're getting them, which is a shame...

Another thing I don't like in the pics that have leaked, which isn't likely to change, is the lack of red 'belt' around the midsection. The suit looks a little strange without that and I don't like the way the red running down his torso just awkwardly stops.
I did like the idea that he has an actual physical belt, which had been removed/ripped off, in the first official photo - but that is now looking less likely.
I'm sure the suit will still look awesome on film anyway (based on that first official shot that we got).

That suit design is shit regardless.
