UK peeps, you can pre-order from android.modaco.com today at 1pm apparently. That in 15 mins..right?

Paul said it's gonna be close to GBP500...:S

So will my Evo be getting this new Sense stuff? If so, when? I'm liking what I see.

To the Desire HD folks, welcome to the 4.3" club.

Edit: Okay, that woman has a sexy voice, and all that new sense shit is AWESOME.

I'm sure someone will put it in a custom rom for the Evo soon, so I'm GOOD.

Wife and I took advanatge of a Verizon B1G1 deal with a couple Samsung Fascinate's. Awesome phones so far I quickly downloaded a coupld app's to try out. Thye screen is just stunning on this phone.

Apparently the Desire HD uses the MSM8255 processor, with the Adreno 205 GPU, which gives it better graphical performance than the EVO.

get me a desire hd on att

I can't but Telus or Vodaphone Australia probably could

yeah, but its so damn expensive... if att gave a discount for no contract phones that would be ideal, but there is no benefit

If you feel like giving more impressions on this phone, I would appreciate it. My wife has expressed interest in this phone. The reviews seem a bit mixed but sometimes reviews exaggerate issues.

Hmm, tempted to make the HTC Desire Z my first android phone. Hope it's not too expensive, looks really nice. Shame about the processor though, but looks like it's not too drastic since that boot up time is insane lol. Currently have a Nokia N95, so should be a nice upgrade :D

There has to be some sort of save-state going on there. There is no way that's a clean, full boot up.

I want to get a Captivate but Rogers up here seems to think it's cool to announce phones and then be all oh we don't know when it's actually coming out about it. So I was debating switching to Bell and getting a Vibrant.

Am I insane, impatient or should I do it?

The processor is the new version of snap-dragon, so it is at least as good.

its a newer cpu than the nexus one/droid/etc. Like comparing a 2Ghz Core 2 to a 3Ghz P4. Packs a lot more onboard features than the older Desire/Nexus One, heaps better graphics performance, almost on par with the galaxy s apparently

I'm just waiting for a company to announce "we have a new battery that's better than anything you've seen!". That'll get me excited!

Total disapponting news. Here's hoping gingerbread nukes all phone manufacturer themes like blur, and sense. Also any phone annouced now untill the end of year without dual core should be ignored. And the fact that htc is late with their dual core design is dissappointing. Google needs to switch dev phone manufacturer to either SE, moto, or samsung...

Dev phones ftw!

You will be able to count the number of announced dual-core equipped smart phones on one hand by end of year.

We might see an HTC Glacier (Qualcomm), LG Optimus (Tegra 2) or Samsung (Orion) by the end of the year, but most manufactures are suggesting Q1 2011 for general availability.

And the delay was due to Qualcomm, not HTC.

Hmmm...I had my mind set on the milestone 2 since I have the 1,but now with these two coming. ... !!!!!

Buy a HTC. Motorola's support is worse than Sony's outside US. Milestone users probably won't ever see 2.2 with the way they keep pushing the dates back.

That Desire HD is very tempting...

I was gonna get a Samsung Galaxy S, but I've waiting for all the problems (GPS, lag, etc.) to be ironed out first. Maybe I should now just go for a Desire HD instead?

I definitely have more conficence in HTC when it comes to supporting their phones and bringing regular updates.

HTC definitely supports their phones more so than Motorola or Samsung. But they have just as many problems out the gate as any other manufacturer.

Cavet Emptor!

At least you can load custom roms yourself to alleviate some of the problems. Milestone? No rom development at all with the locked bootloader.
