Netflix apk

IS there a version of this that works on the Charge? I've tried both versions in that thread, one crashes after trying to login, the other constantly tells me there's a new version to update to, and won't actually play content. I'd love access to Netflix on this beautiful screen.

edit: I hope eventually they let you d/l entire state/province
You can techincally just hit multiple spots twenty miles apart and map the whole thing yourself.

For anyone that has the Evo 3D, how's the battery life on it ? I have a upgrade and I'm thinking of using it on the Evo 3D.

I just unboxed my new Transformer. Can anyone give me good (paid/unpaid) suggestions for a good:

any other must-have apps

for Honeycomb? This is my first Android device, and my first smartphone/tablet. Thanks.

This would be awesome on my Nexus One if it weren't for the absolutely horrid amount of space that it allows apps to be saved on. I fear what size the app can grow to.

Luckily the map data gets saved onto the sd card and not the tiny internal storage.

RSS: I use both Feedr and NewsRob to sync with google reader. Feedr is much faster than NewsRob.

Get Dolphin Min and Opera Mini for browser

Emulator: I only use GBCoid to play Tetris.

Must have apps: Amazon mp3, File Expert, Google Task Organizer, MoboPlayer, Titanium Backup, BeyondPod

Xoom WiFi dropped to $499

Been holding out, waiting for the inevitable price drop to come to the WiFi only Motorola Xoom? If so, your wait is now over. As announced on the Motorola Twitter account the price of the WiFi only Motorola Xoom has now been dropped to only $499 and for those keeping track that's a full $100 off the original launch price. Making room for the Motorola Xoom 4G?

Well, I just entered the Android world today! Got the Samsung Droid Charge with Verizon on the very last day of unlimited data plans!

This thread is an absolute monster, so I figure I'll just ask some questions. Sorry if these are questions that have been answered a hundred times.

1) What's the best way to set this baby up as an mp3 player? There's V-CAST media already on the device, but is there something better I should use? I have lots and lots of DRM-free music on my computer that I'd like to transfer over.

2) What's the best way to set this up to watch the video content that I have on my computer?

3) Should I root this sucker? What are the benefits of that?

4) How can I set it up so that I can designate songs from my music collection to serve as ringtones?

Okay, so my Droid Charge is telling me it has no connection to the network. I can't even make a phone call right now.

My old dumb phone NEVER lost the signal at my house, so I know it's not an issue with the area.

Help/suggestions?

I would thrown it in airplane mode and back out. If that didn't work, update PRL with *228. Press 2.

A soft reset seemed to do the trick.

I just put SNES9x on here and played Super Mario World. The onscreen buttons aren't great for platformers, but I'm betting RPGs would be just fine. Gotta get Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI onto this baby.

And now I just found that you can use a Wiimote as the controller. Holy shit, best purchase ever.

I can't believe I was in the flip-phone dark age for so long.

Yeah, I mean damn I'm even temped to sign up for it lol. (left t mobile for sprint in Jan).

Step 1.
Get it, cancel contract 22 days from now. Get charged about 250 for prorated first month and ETF. Sell to Ephemeris for 350.

step 2
profit. ;)

Rooting my Charge is turning out to be a royal pain. All the guides have you download and install some AndroidSDK to your C:\ directory, then get a bunch of ADB files, then run a bunch of commands in the command window that for whatever reason aren't working for me.

I wish there was an easy method for non-comp-sci majors.

Can someone explain why the Galaxy S2 isn't on sale in the states? Anything to do with the Apple vs. Samsung lawsuit?

Does any one know of a good friends (or twitter) widget like the launcher pro plus one ?

image110.png

Would be nice if it could fill the entirety of one of my home screens.

Trying to put Android SDK on my computer is taking forever. It seems to be downloading hundreds and hundreds of megabytes of files. It's been running for well over an hour. Is this normal?

Samsung did this with the original Galaxy S if I recall. I think they delay the US launch simply to stockpile phones up and let the initial demand in Europe/Asia die down. They should be released this summer, though.

It was the same for me. I don't think you need every part of the SDK though, depends on what you want to do.

Well...they need a better uploading program. Since noon yesterday after I found out, I've been trying to upload my music using their stupid uploader. It keeps saying scanning and never uploads. I would use it exclusively since google says I can't upload anymore music.

Just received my GS2, very sexy phone. Amazing screen and so thin! Already feel restricted though as was running CM7 on my N1. Not done any reading on how to root an SGS2, will try and resist the temptation for now although there is a shitload of bloatware :(

Use Homesmack to manage your launchers. It makes it much easier to change and set defaults.

Simply flashing any of the custom ROMs or kernels available will root the phone for you, it's very straightforward. I've been using the Cognition S2 ROM which keeps very close to the stock TouchWiz interface, but strips out all the useless crap, even stuff like clock widgets (you can items individually back in if you want them). It'll wipe all your settings and apps so there's some incentive to try it before you get your phone set up exactly as you want it.

It doesn't make it totally clear in that thread but you need to flash another kernel with CWM Recovery first, such as CF-Root.

Thanks, will have to give that a look.

So the Droid 3 is official!

I am eligible to upgrade my OG Droid on August 6th. Do you guys think this will be the best option in Verizon's line up? I would like to continue to have a qwerty keyboard but not if there is a better phone out there that I would be missing out on. Also I read that the Droid 3 is a "global phone", what does that mean? I will be going to college in Canada in the fall and was going to use Verizon's Canada plan because it is going to be really expensive to have both a US and Canada phone plan. I wonder if there are any other options for me...

August 6th? The Bionic should be out around then.

If you can go with the keyboard, then it's rumored that the Droid Bionic will launch August 4th and it will have better specs along with 4G LTE (which the Droid 3 lacks). It's pretty much going to be Verizon's flagship phone for a while. I would say wait for the Galaxy S II, but lord knows when that's coming. And even if it does come in August, I have a feeling that Verizon will find someway to cripple it. Hopefully all they do is add bing rather than take away features (because you can root the phone and get rid of all the junk anyways).

I think by global phone phone, they mean that you can use it world wide on other networks and have access to making phone calls and sending text messages/e-mails.

I just ordered one; I think it's gonna be great. Great processor, great cameras, bright screen (a little pixely), more X-like form factor. Also, I'm buying into gcubed's "LTE is not ready for primetime" line. Even if I wasn't, I need a global phone because I travel a lot, and right now you can't get a Verizon phone that's both global ready and LTE.

I don't think you need a global phone because Canada already has CDMA network(s?). You can probably ask for advice here because the Droid 3 will probably have similar radios to Droid 2 G.

If CDMA is ok and doesn't cost extra, you can probably just get the Bionic and turn off LTE when you're not using it to save battery.

the only thing preventing me from getting a HTC incredible S is this SMS delay issue. is this isolated to just australia, or is it a known problem (and if so, when is it being fixed)? would people recommend i hold off from getting it?

anyone?

ha, for bleeding edge people sure, but on a phone i like battery life, and until early 2012 with some new chipsets with it built in and shrunk its going to stay that way. The technology is great, and the speed is great, just not worth the tradeoff on a phone right now for me.

I want leaks about the next Nexus NOW. I want to get excited.
