This would be awesome on my Nexus One if it weren't for the absolutely horrid amount of space that it allows apps to be saved on. I fear what size the app can grow to.Copernicus said:

Been holding out, waiting for the inevitable price drop to come to the WiFi only Motorola Xoom? If so, your wait is now over. As announced on the Motorola Twitter account the price of the WiFi only Motorola Xoom has now been dropped to only $499 and for those keeping track that's a full $100 off the original launch price. Making room for the Motorola Xoom 4G?
I would thrown it in airplane mode and back out. If that didn't work, update PRL with *228. Press 2.Puddles said:Okay, so my Droid Charge is telling me it has no connection to the network. I can't even make a phone call right now.
My old dumb phone NEVER lost the signal at my house, so I know it's not an issue with the area.
Help/suggestions?

Samsung did this with the original Galaxy S if I recall. I think they delay the US launch simply to stockpile phones up and let the initial demand in Europe/Asia die down. They should be released this summer, though.Pctx said:Can someone explain why the Galaxy S2 isn't on sale in the states? Anything to do with the Apple vs. Samsung lawsuit?
numble said:Puddles, why did you go for the Samsung Charge?
It was the same for me. I don't think you need every part of the SDK though, depends on what you want to do.Puddles said:Trying to put Android SDK on my computer is taking forever. It seems to be downloading hundreds and hundreds of megabytes of files. It's been running for well over an hour. Is this normal?

Would be nice if it could fill the entirety of one of my home screens.

Simply flashing any of the custom ROMs or kernels available will root the phone for you, it's very straightforward. I've been using the Cognition S2 ROM which keeps very close to the stock TouchWiz interface, but strips out all the useless crap, even stuff like clock widgets (you can items individually back in if you want them). It'll wipe all your settings and apps so there's some incentive to try it before you get your phone set up exactly as you want it.J Tourettes said:Just received my GS2, very sexy phone. Amazing screen and so thin! Already feel restricted though as was running CM7 on my N1. Not done any reading on how to root an SGS2, will try and resist the temptation for now although there is a shitload of bloatware![]()

It doesn't make it totally clear in that thread but you need to flash another kernel with CWM Recovery first, such as CF-Root.

I am eligible to upgrade my OG Droid on August 6th. Do you guys think this will be the best option in Verizon's line up? I would like to continue to have a qwerty keyboard but not if there is a better phone out there that I would be missing out on. Also I read that the Droid 3 is a "global phone", what does that mean? I will be going to college in Canada in the fall and was going to use Verizon's Canada plan because it is going to be really expensive to have both a US and Canada phone plan. I wonder if there are any other options for me...

I just ordered one; I think it's gonna be great. Great processor, great cameras, bright screen (a little pixely), more X-like form factor. Also, I'm buying into gcubed's "LTE is not ready for primetime" line. Even if I wasn't, I need a global phone because I travel a lot, and right now you can't get a Verizon phone that's both global ready and LTE.ZZMitch said:So the Droid 3 is official!

I don't think you need a global phone because Canada already has CDMA network(s?). You can probably ask for advice here because the Droid 3 will probably have similar radios to Droid 2 G.
If CDMA is ok and doesn't cost extra, you can probably just get the Bionic and turn off LTE when you're not using it to save battery.
