Angry break up rock songs

Please suggest angry break up songs. No sorrow, just all out anger.

Nothing from Linkin Park\ Puddle of Mud\ Shinedown type bands though.

Thank You

Shellac - Prayer to God

To the one true God above:
Here is my prayer -
Not the first you've heard, but the first I wrote.
(not the first, but the others were a long time ago).
There are two people here, and I want you to kill them.
Her - she can go quietly, by disease or a blow
To the base of her neck,
Where her necklaces close,
Where her garments come together,
Where I used to lay my face...
That's where you oughta kill her,
In that particular place.
Him - just fucking kill him, I don't care if it hurts.

80% of Linkin Park's catalog
I kid, I kid

Vast majority of country songs?

This one is good too, coincided with a breakup for me. (edit: far from angry)

Angry break up songs are weak af - sad makes more sense. Why would you be angry when you could just be sad and tap into the best genre of music of all time, emo!

Bloody Motherfucking Asshole by Martha Wainwright, or, alternatively, Untouchable Face by Ani DiFranco

Elvis Costello has to be the king of the "angry break-up" song.

No Action is great. And so is Lipstick Vogue, from the same album.

"Everytime I phone you I just want to put you down" is a brutal and hilarious thing to say. The fact that it's a double entendre makes it even better.

Used to love her - guns n roses
Back off bitch - guns n roses
Hardest part of letting go... - Megadeth

Hammer smashed face - cannibal corpse (...oh wait no)

Puscifer - Momma sed; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXvRr9M6O0c

Mom is (almost) always right. "It's just a broken heart, son This pain will pass away" Just reminds us that break ups are part of the ordeal and what it means to be alive. Take it like a man.

"Changes come
Keep your dignity
Take the high road
Take it like a man
"

Asking Alexandra - Moving On; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9lYwVm1NDg

A real dusty heartbroken long-distance affair of rockers loneliness. Channels some country, some post-hardcore, some emo-rock. I really like this song, but am not familiar with the band. Good vocals on the front guy.

Faces - Oh La la Laa; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_xwnb3cymc

Sort of reminds you of not to be a pushover or nobody will love your ass. "For love is blind and you're far too kind". I think most guys have made that mistake. It's a song that does feel a bit gamergater'y and salty, but I still like it. Who hurt you Rod Stewart? What was her name!!?

Poor old granddad
I laughed at all his words
I thought he was a bitter man
He spoke of woman's ways

They'll trap you, then they use you
Before you even know
For love is blind and you're far too kind
Don't ever let it show

I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was younger
I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was stronger

Tame Impala - The Less I know the better; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBzrzS1Ag_g

It's more of a indie-rock song, but by far the best music video of 2015, and one of the best songs too. I'm not really sure what it's about, but it's certainly about a bitter break up or departure. Perhaps mixed with disillusion.

"Oh my love, can't you see yourself by my side
No surprise when you're on his shoulder like every night
Oh my love, can't you see a child on my mind
Don't suppose we could convince your lover to change his mind
So goodbye"

Bon Iver - Skinny Love; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssdgFoHLwnk

I love this dude. Heartbroken to the point of being suicidal he channeled all his sadness, went into a cabbin in the woods and lived in isolation for months, only writing and playing songs. He recorded for emma, and became famous afterwards. Skinny Love is a crazy bitter song that sounds like someone reflecting on a lot of baggage in a relationship.

"And I told you to be patient
And told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind
In the morning I'll be with you
But it will be a different "kind"
I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines"

Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkADj0TPrJA

One of my favorite songs. It's an odd choice, but it makes this list because of Phil himself laying to rest what the song was about; "I don't know what this song is about. When I was writing this I was going through a divorce. And the only thing I can say about it is that it's obviously in anger. It's the angry side, or the bitter side of a separation. So what makes it even more comical is when I hear these stories which started many years ago, particularly in America, of someone come up to me and say, 'Did you really see someone drowning?' I said, 'No, wrong'. And then every time I go back to America the story gets Chinese whispers, it gets more and more elaborate. It's so frustrating, 'cause this is one song out of all the songs probably that I've ever written that I really don't know what it's about, you know?"

Really cool explanation, and it actually does make sense;

"Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before, my friend, but I don't know if you know who I am
Well I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies"

Frank Turner - Worse Things Happen At Sea

Frank Turner said:
You say, “Worse things happen at sea”
I say, “Worse things have happened to me”
Bitter eyes to the bedroom floor
And weÂ’re not going to talk anymore
WeÂ’ve got nothing to talk for

Well honestly, your honesty, it has emerged unscathed
And I hope youÂ’re doing fine, because me, IÂ’m doing fucking great
And I wouldnÂ’t want to waste another second of your time
I know my place, I know your face
So you hide yours and IÂ’ll keep to mine

Love the way he roars out this second paragraph in the version posted above.

Never got anger from Momma Sed, but speaking of Puscifer, Carina Round's debut EP has a good one:

Carina Round - On Leaving

It starts off innocently enough, but then it just builds up till it reaches critical mass and BOOM. I don't know if anger is really a big enough word for the emotions in that song.

Pretty much all of Jagged Little Pill is a angry Alanis ;)

I want you to know, that I'm happy for you
I wish nothing but the best for you both
An older version of me
Is she perverted like me
Would she go down on you in a theatre
Does she speak eloquently
And would she have your baby
I'm sure she'd make a really excellent mother

'cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, till you died
But you're still alive

And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

You seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you fuck her?

'cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, til you died
But you're still alive

And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

'cause the joke that you laid on the bed that was me
And I'm not gonna fade
As soon as you close your eyes and you know it
And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back
I hope you feel it...well can you feel it

Well, I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

A lot of anger and spite in this

The Stone Roses - I Am The Resurrection

Down, down, you bring me down
I hear you knocking down my door
And I can't sleep at night.
Your face it has no place
No room for you inside my house
I need to be alone.

Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you,
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do.

Turn, turn, I wish you'd learn
There's a time and place for everything
I've got to get it through.
Cut loose 'cause you're no use
I couldn't stand another
Second in your company.

Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you,
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do.

Stone me why can't you see
You're a no one nowhere washed up baby
Who'd look better dead.
Your tongue is far too long
I don't like the way it sucks and
Slurs upon my every word.

Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you,
I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do.

I am the resurrection and I am the life,
I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

I am the resurrection and I am the life,
I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like.

Interesting, I never really took that as a break up song. I can see it in the lyrics but yeah I've always interpreted it differently.

For sure, but it feels appropriate when going through a break-up. At least it does for me. "When they love you and they will / tell them all, they'll love in my shadow" and "It's a lifeless life with no fixed address to give / But you're not mine to die for anymore, so I must live" along with the aggressiveness of the song really worked for me.

Idiot Wind by Bob Dylan.
