- Still one more hoop to jump through.
- Better computer or internet doesn't change my point, unless you have infinite power and infinite speed, a more selective loading is still a good feature.
- Eh, but that doesn't make a real argument in favor of 100ppp either.

The only advantages i can see for 100ppp:

- Bragging rights for being irrational.. wait.
- Being able to read more posts before clicking "next page", which is very little time gain in comparison to point 1 and 2 i made in favor of 50ppp.

With FiOS running on a beastly machine 100ppp is stupid for image-heavy threads, especially on rereads what with all the constant popping around the page does.

This is nothing new. Animated avatars are not allowed. Your avatar privileges will be revoked and/or you will be banned if you don't follow the rules.

Losing animated avatars never had anything to do with server resources or implementation problems. It was purely a design decision. Animated avatars are not coming back.
