Wow, this and the Hello Kitty fan pedophile thread...just wow...

I don't think I can see an anime girl avatar and take the poster seriously again. :p

I already can't take any of them seriously

I've always heard that Renaissance Fairs turn in to huge medieval orgies afterwards. Like all the wenches finally unleash their boobs after they've been mashed up all day and stuff.

I have heard that about LARPING as well. Must be some truth to these rumors.

What else can you do? Screen random people? Other than this its up to possible victims themselves to be aware.
Better security measures, people walking around (disguised or not) to watch out for signs. There's barely any security at the cons already.

Nah, the only issue is that they don´t seem to take into account female sex offenders. At least that´s how the article is worded.
No female sex offenders or would be sex offenders attend anime cons. They are much too busy teaching high school students.

All this does is contribute to the stereotype that anyone over the age of 18 who attends one of these public events is some kind of kiddy-fiddlin' creeper, like most "protect the children from Stranger Danger" measures. This type of abuse is not epidemic at these events, or you would've heard about it way sooner -- and "stranger danger" is incredibly exaggerated by the media compared to far more common situations of child abuse. Blocking ten people from entering the doors of a multi-thousands event means nothing at all. What an embarrassment.

Honestly, Anime Cons are basically Nerd Mardi Gras. It's just a huge party where a lot of people go wild. I don't think baring entery to proven sex offenders is a bad thing.

Of course, then you go to the dealers room and see all the creepy moe/loli erotica and near erotica brazenly on display...

Good thing I've never been to con. Damn man, there's alot of suppressed desires in one place, with characters the majority wish they could fuck? Hell no I'm not staying there; that's a fucking criminal action waiting to happen, even if they have some restraint.

On the other hand, I would like to meet people with the same tastes, since most of my friends have only watched Dragon Ball Z (they don't know Dragon ball), Cardcaptures, and Pokemon. Yeah, gotta expand that web.

What a bunch of sick freaks. Oh well I don't go to those conventions since it's a dimension of scummy stuff.

I admire my cosplay girls from a distance and not underaged ones.

Why did I click on that... ugh...I thought it was going to be funny.

wtf are you talking about? this is fucking hilarious

VOCALOID’s songs have more meaning than American songs…

They don’t sing about sex and money… Well, they sing stories of losses, love, and tragities….
Well, Miku does sing a song that is rather dirty.. but still they don’t rap about the sex and money alot of people can’t get.. They sing about things people can relate too..

No one watches these shows for the plot, and I’m no different. I just want to see cute girls doing cute shit. I just want to fap to the other lolis as I watch. Mmmm.

lolol

Lately it seems to be the most vocal defense force
Well, its probably been one of the laws with some of the most insane ups and downs. You have kids in high school getting it for some girl sending nude photos of herself around. At the same time, people who should have been arrested years ago. It doesn't even factor in the "Think of the children!" acts, such as internet censors and forcing ISPs to record history warrant-less.

I think conventions in general need a bit of an overhaul. Many parents clearly treat it as getting rid of their kids for the weekend. Throw a bunch of 11-15 year old alone and let them run a muck.

At the same time, you do get a bunch of creepy older folks(Not that being old there is bad either), but just people there for different reasons.

I dunno, whenever there is threads about cosplay and I click the links maybe 1 out of 100 chicks are actually good looking. I don't see the appeal.

This one was pretty funny,

“
Naruto is a “cartoon” and yet I swear it mirrors real life emotions better than most oscar winning films ever could. It’s indescribable.

Okay, I'll admit that's pretty damn funny.

Yeah, I kinda stopped after the "took a 15 yr. old home from the rave" thing, thinking it was going to be more of that as opposed to #whitewhine-esque bitching about Vocaloids and shit. Reading further, I'm relieved to see it seems to be more of the latter.

Because there are very few female sex offenders. Animecon demographics attract pedophiles, many of whom watch pathetic anime that panders to rather disturbing fantasies.

Cold as ice.

Also female offenders are mentioned in the article.

Not surprised really, any where that has a large gathering of teenagers is going to attract creeps. Music Festivals had to take similar actions not to long ago.

Random fact: the vast majority of anime fans aren't sex offenders.

Also: the vast majority of sex offenders aren't anime fans.

I'd stake my life that more pedos fill the seats Yankee stadium at any given time than stalk the booths of an anime convention.

What's funny is the entirely unrelated thing that post is about. I'm okay with it, Colony Drop is apparently operated by mid-40's, lonely single otakus who sit in momma's basement and complain about how anime has sucked since 1990. To be called out by that kind of loser is a badge of honor quite frankly.

No way in hell I'd let my daughter dress like a slut and go to one of those things. Not even her obesity can protect her from desperation of this magnitude.

Makes sense. I've attended Otakon the last couple years and the amount of unsupervised teens in skimpy clothing would seem to be a creepers dream. And when security is so lax at these things, a few extra precautions wouldn't hurt.

Following that train of thought, I wish I was better at identifying age by sight. I'd like to be able to talk to the busty female Loki without wondering if I'm gonna catch a charge the whole time. lol

I can't....I just can't...

But I thought these conventions were how they built up these lists!

Right ...

http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/fl20040427zg.html

According to John Carr, an adviser to the U.K. government on Internet safety policy for children, towards the end of the 1990s as many as two thirds of all pedophilic images on the Internet may have originated in Japan. Since a law was passed in 1999 law to control child prostitution and child pornography, the proportion is now believed to be as little as two percent.

But, fantasy representations of child pornography, including in manga and anime, have not been covered by the new law; and ECPAT believes that many child pornography producers have simply turned to producing anime or films featuring adults dressed as children.

Filth like lolicon didn't come from anime ... sure ...

If you'd kept your statement as 'sex offenders' you probably wouldn't have to kill yourself. However there is undoubtly more pedophiles in anime than baseball ... why else would there be an entire genre devoted to it.

Thank god for this thread. We needed another one to expose the sex offender defense force now that the Hello Kitty one is gone from the first page.

Hey man, why not have both?

Also the stuff that came up when I search for "loli baseball" is probably going to get me arrested. :\
