I liked it but man there's a lot of bullshit that can be cut out.
X already tried with the movie and a tv series, it's had enough chances.

Shaman King boysss

And when they dub it use the original versions english opening cause nothing will top it.

Also definitely Soul Eater we never got the manga version of Black Star vs Mifune in the forest it was like 1million times better

That's the apex of the whole damn manga and his subsequent character development was amazing. Everything else though was largely shit but still marginally better than the anime.

These sorts of topics always boil down to people saying "I want this anime again but more faithful to the manga this time." So boring! You already have the manga; just go read that if that's what you want! I'm all for imaginative reinventions or fresh perspectives on old material - something like Yamato 2199 is perhaps the ideal kind of remake - but a lot of anime fans are distinctly lacking in imagination. Especially since the examples of new anime adaptations people point to in this context - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Hunter X Hunter 2011 - are actually worse than the previous anime adaptations of the same series. So I think this is a bad question to begin with.

Screw that imaginative reinventions are the reason we have shitty anime only endings in the first place. Who wants that twice.

Eyeshield 21. Still mad about the original series ending where it did.

This is my vote. I love the manga version of Eyeshield 21, but I'm a person who rather watch their sport shonen than read them. I wouldn't get the same feels for like Hajime no Ippo if I read it rather than watch it.

Karekano deserved a better ending.

You guys thought GTO had a bad ending, Karekano ends abruptly with the most nonsensical final episode. It's like Neon Genesis Evangelion except that Karekano is a romcom.

But that was a sequel of sorts. I'd prefer they do a series of Yomiko first, before moving on to potentially do a new ROD the TV.

I actually wasn't too fond of the TV series. A lot of really sappy moments, things that were way too unbelievable even by ROD standards
(all of Hong Kong somehow sinking into the water and killing millions, the freaking galactic empire hiding underneath of London just to name a few).
Also wasn't that big of a fan of the plot that they went with.

Anime-original endings can be good or bad, just as original manga endings can be good or bad. If you're just going to copy and paste manga panels to screen, you shouldn't be making an anime in the first place. That's my perspective, as someone who appreciates the art and craft of animation more than someone who wants what I've already seen regurgitated back at me.

Beserk. Done without awful fucking CG. I want beautiful hand drawn work with maybe CG here and there.

It's painful to see it the way it is. And it's creator being ok with it is even worse..

This is how I know not to listen to anything you say.

Name me 5 good anime only endings. Any author worth their salt has an ending in mind and tends to gear the story towards it even in weekly shounens in which it's far more difficult to do. Having some fairly random writer make up an ending on the spot to story because they ran out of content rarely ever works out well, and when it works out better it's because the original story was shit. Art of the craft has nothing to do with it.

Consistency and pacing actually matters.

Slightly related, I'd like Anno to finish His and Her Circumstances, which is secretly his best series (and of the best romance in anime)

Can I request a remake of Japan's animation industry (and its target audience) before I choose the anime?
Because I'd really like to see an improved Evangelion and maybe Bubblegum Crisis, but I really wouldn't want them to look like modern animated TV shows. The last two Rebuilds were painful enough and those had movie budgets.

Code:Breaker
Emma: A Victorian Romance Season 2
Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 (TV ending)
Gunslinger Girl Season 1
Usagi Drop

Yeah ok you including Shaballa in that ending or the portal to Nazi german. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who honestly considers it better than the manga ending. The fact your also picking a season one for a multi season anime doesn't count. So you gave me 4. Your missing one.

The obvious answer here is Ruroni Kenshin. Series was canceled due to shitty filler arcs before it could get a chance to return to the source material. Any series that ended like that deserves a second chance.

First arc was significantly altered in the anime, too. Definitely deserves another shot.

My favorite anime of all time for its more grounded setting.

Rahxephon.

Greatest SciFi/Mecha love story ever told.

In fact, probably among the greatest love story in anime, period.

I want it remastered in 16:9 aspect ratio.

As I indicated, I am not including the Conquerer of Shamballa movie (which I have not seen) in my assessment of FMA 2003. As for Gunslinger Girl, I think it's fair to judge the first anime season as its own thing considering Il Teatrino was from a completely different creative staff, allegedly at the instigation of the manga author who was dissatisfied with Madhouse's anime and took over writing duties for Il Teatrino herself.

i say jojo's bizarre adventure. i wasn't happy with the remake and liked the action of the 90's original OVA's. (not the prequels)

i would like a do over with the 90's art style/animation.

But anyways!

One Piece without all of the filler garbage would be superb
Soul Eater deserves a proper anime adaptation
Berserk deserves better

Sdf macross tv, dyrl charicter designs, same great tv story, get mari iijima to do remastered minmei voice/songs. None of that delta stank.

And while were at it, might as well remake macross delta into something good lol

Ranma is a good idea, even though it was such a classic. I wouldn't mind seeing Slayers (as the one a few years ago fell flat). Also Rurouni Kenshin without the fillers and Tenchi Muyo.

Yu Yu Hakusho for a more complete ending by Madhouse, and Soul Eater by Bones again. Also Bleach, but only have it be one 5 minute episode for April Fools.
