The first season of Crystal was awful and they changed or straight up left out a lot of the cool moments from the manga.
Missing the "funny" scenes but I prefer the classical version than the awful kiddy original adaptation. It's still a near-perfect scene-by-scene adaptation. The above post shows how infantile it was.

They literally changed the senshi each killing the Shitennou, Venus killing Beryl and then they tried to copy the locket scene from the 90s anime despite it completely missing the emotional context but sure, they only left out and changed the 'funny' scenes.

Aside from the more obvious choices like Berserk, Soul Eater and Trigun. Though I want to say that I think the original Trigun anime is a classic and the series as a whole is absolutely fantastic. I don't know very much about the Trigun manga other than how different it is and I think it would be cool to see.

While this kind of sort of counts, I'd like to see more of the Boogiepop lightnovel series. Boogiepop Phantom was great despite it's limitations. And I'd like to see a fuller adaption of it. Plus tonally, the surreal urban fantasy horror, is something really lacking in anime of this era and I feel like it would be a huge breath of fresh air.

With Animation and visual direction like this especially

A Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - style remake of Trigun. One that follows much closer to the manga.

I'd love that. It was one of my first anime and one of my favorite manga.

And one that doesn't run out of its budget.

+1 for Ranma 1/2.

It wouldn't even need to be a reboot, just animate the later arcs, and give it an actual ending.

Or, continue it as Ranma Z or something. Just give me more Ranma.

Yes? It's still damn close to the original story. I still don't get all the hate Crystal gets while the original series pisses on the original material.

Crystal was actually animated by Toei Animation. TOEI. FREAKING. ANIMATION.

This is the new Studio DEEN anyways.

Is that surprising? Toei animation is utter shit most of the time, especially with popular franchises. One of the worst adaptations of a manga I've ever seen is there World Trigger adaptation, and they've had plenty of other shit adaptations like most of the Toriko anime and a large portion of the One Piece anime among others

Guyver. I loved that stuff when I was younger, but recently checked out some scenes on YouTube and it didn't age that well.

My guess is the vast majority of Sailor Moon fans, at least in the west, have never read the original manga. I read part of the manga in the '90s after seeing the anime, and honestly, I just couldn't get into it.

So for many people, and with no disrespect to Naoko Takeuchi, the '90s adaptation is the definitive version. Crystal strips all of the charm out of it, and that puts fans off. It just looks like another cold, sterile, generic shoujo anime.

Chrono Crusade.

It's the only manga I read from start to finish after being utterly dissatisfied with the anime adaptation. Would definitely watch a faithful remake since I love the setting and concept.

Even for people like me that enjoyed the manga more than the anime, Crystal was still a horrible adaption. The manga still had charm and goofiness that the first two season left out. A lot of important moments in the manga fell flat in SMC due to horrid animation or the terrible writing.

Toei has always been pretty mediocre, but they do a bunch of those long running shows so it's to be expected I guess. They did a fantastic job on Kyousougiga, I kinda liked their version of the Air movie, and their newest KADO tv anime is doing something interesting with some sort of hybrid 3D CG thing.

And I can't really talk too much shit about Deen nowadays, their recent Showa Rakugo and Konosuba were both great. But their latest Kabukibu anime is pretty meh so.. back to usual?

It's a slide show for most of the program despite being an anime. No budget at all so it was them panning over stuff with voice overs and music, occasionally interjecting bits of animation.

Ah, so the ratio is too tilted. I'm fine with those drawings in between (I even like it) but if it's the case for the most part, it's probably really too much.

Slam Dunk is the only correct answer here. And lol at the people who think it is possible for berserk to get another adaption.

Ore no imouto ga konnani kawaii wake ga nai.

I hate the Kirino ending.
lol there is an anime currently airing called Eromanga-sensei make by the same guy who did OreImo, has a similar secret tsundere otaku lil sister (not blood related, guy learned his lesson), I'm told it takes place in the same universe and moves the relationship along faster. And she is way more likable than kirino-whatshername.

If Satoshi Kon were still alive, Paranoia Agent. He said that show was made from his ideas he couldn't use in the films he had been working on, the show is great, but if he were still around, I would wonder what he would've added in a remake.

Since he is not, Gundam 0079.

From the reviews I've seen, particularly these, I'm gonna say don't even bother.
Oreimo was a catalyst for the current popularity of mediocre, pandering LNs.

I'd love a remake of Nanoha StrikerS in movie form.

3 parts; cut out extraneous characters and subplots we don't care about; replace most training with more fights; more family moments between Nanoha, Fate and Vivio; just fucking confirm the main ships(including Teana x Subaru) as canon; and finally, make the final arc(rescuing
Vivio
) even more badass.
