If that noise doesn't bother you to the point of aggression, I'm positive you're deaf.

Fuck that.
People who chew loudly, mouth-breath, or loudly breathe through their noses are just gross.
I've told various people (friends, family, friendly coworkers) conversationally that their noise bothers me but that it's my fault, not theirs. Most of the time, they're already doing everything they need to do and there is no way they could be any quieter, even if they tried. Now open mouth chewers on the other hand... Fuck those people.
That's a specialized scenario. It doesn't count. For instance, if someone was trying to catch his or her breath after being active, it makes sense one would breathe heavily. But what if I get excited? I can't help it.

I'm talking about loud nose-breathing as a standard.
You pick your nose?Ok then.
My nostrils are huge though, had to wear special rings on fingers to prevent going in to far when picking.
But that's a story for another thread
Why even bring it up? You're just making their life harder.
Because they are making his life harder. It's obvious you don't have misphonia, but it can be a truly tortuous experience. The worst thing is that if someone tries to bring it up, people just say to get over it and shut the fuck up, neither of those are really on option for those that suffer with this.
You pick your nose?
You can always get up and leave the room.
That's not always an option.

Unless you're in prison or invited over for dinner at Kim Jung-Un's, it should be possible in 99% of cases.

I am sorry I disgust you so much that we cant even be in the same room together,

I have misophonia and also Intermittent Explosive Disorder. One time I asked a friend to stop smacking his gum and he did it more. I blacked out and punched him and made his lips bleed. I couldn't help it and it just happened all of a sudden. When you suffer from misophonia the worst thing that can happen is for someone to ask a stranger to stop.
The article uses the word "annoyed" a lot, which is patently false. We get tangible feelings of anxiety from each sound we hear. The longer we're exposed to it, the worse it gets. It can lead to depression, anger, suicidal thoughts, explosions, and homicidal ideation as well. It's much much much more than just being "annoyed."
Thankfully, I've calmed down over the years and my misophonia doesn't have nearly as much control over my life. The general food noises, popcorn, and slurping coffee doesn't bother me as much. Finger sucking and gum popping make me dissociate still, though.
Weirdly enough, it only bothers me when I myself am not eating as well. I definitely get overly bothered by people loudly chewing gum though, which I'm trying to get over, or at least be nicer aboutsorry @ my gf for getting snappy at u about gum
I'm... honestly a little taken aback by how much this seems to annoy people. Am I out of touch? I'm genuinely asking.
Like I assume this is in context of you sitting with someone while eating and that person chews loudly. But like... aren't you and the person/people eating with like... talking? Do you guys eat in silence????
That's so alien to me.
I can't imagine having a meal with someone and not talking before, during, and after every time I stuff my face (I cover my mouth with my hand if I'm talking with my mouth full and only in a casual context).
Why are you chewing sweet tarts?
