Can't believe people have trouble picking out "just 10" good PSP games, when I can barely pick more than 2. I can easily pick 10 great DS games, but the PSP hasn't done it for me. That seems to be changing though.

PSP has a ton of great games. I currently own around 50 myself, and there's quite a few more I'd like to pick up at some point.

God of War, the Mega Man Games, CASTLEVANIA, Puzzle Quest, and...Lumines, maybe.

I don't think there are truly that many truly great PSP games, but God of War is one of the best ever, and the DS couldn't dream of stuff like Tekken and Soul Calibur. And there are more to come!

EDIT: I also really, really enjoyed Rock Band Unplugged. The DLC is a joke, but the game itself is great.

Don't think so but it's easily playable in Japanese. Bit of trial and error involved and you won't get to understand 100% of the story but definitely one of the easier Japanese games to get through. Very, very worth it aswell, it's one of my favourite PSP games of the year

Only downside is that I'm about three quarters of the way through and have encountered a bug which keeps freezing up my PSP

1) Monster Hunter Portable 2: Never got around the expansion, I figured I would just wait for MHP3.
2) Lumines: Addicting puzzle games with slick visuals and good music.
3) Megaman Powered Up: A game that shows how remakes should be done
4) Yggdra Union: Slick 2d visuals, and some unconventional SRPG systems make this a winner in my book. The best SRPG on the system.
5) Hot Shots Golf Portable: The only fun golf game in the market, now in portable mode.
6) Ridge Race Portable: the first game I got for the PSP
7) Megaman X: Another good remake. I'm not so sure about rearranging item placement and whatnot but still decent modern version of a timeless classic
8) Genesis Classic Collection: or however it's called. decent package of good games. where was streets of rage though?
9) Star Ocean PSP: A playable version of the first game in the series
10) Ultimate Ghost and Ghouls: a brutal game, but I still enjoyed it.

DJ Max Portable is essentially Beatmania for the PSP. And no, you don't even have to know Korean to enjoy it because all the games are 95% English. The US release, DJ Max Fever, is 100% english even. Whoa!

The love stems from the fact that with the exception of Pop'n Music, it is quite simply the most carnal rhythm game experience possible. You're not simulating an instrument or working a plastic representation of one. You're listening to catchy songs and pressing buttons (and a lot of them) to the beats, extremely quickly. It also has fairly insane production values, considering its a PSP game.

It's pretty much the greatest handheld game ever created. Actually, I'm quoted in their marketing materials having said this before, but I continue to say because it's the truth.

I love the PSP library. It's most underrated library on the planet based on the metacritic scores.

edit: lots of Crush love. I liked Crush, played through the whole game, but man the art style and the story took a lot of love out of that game for me. I felt like was playing a Sega does what Nintendon't ad from 1992 the whole time. Plus some of the puzzles were just way too damn infuriating. Still it's a solid, good game, it just could have been a lot better with some less obnoxious art, a less obnoxious main character, and better music.
