I don't know about this case, but usually you have to use it on a future purchase.

So instead of saying, "Buy it here at CC and we'll give you $10 off," they say, "Come visit us again and here's a $10 off coupon (SPEND LOTS OF MONEY KTHX)"

I saw an instore flyer at Media Play today and they have God of War listed on the back page at $39.99 so you may be able to get it at this price this week!
