Any GAF interest in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare?

Last time I played a first-person slasher (lol) was Rune, back in the days. And it was so awesome I was surprised no one tried to do it again. Apparently someone did!

Didn't like the decapitation tho, I don't want to fight ragdolls :(

For the guys already playing it, how does it feel, realistically speaking? I felt the knight in that video was moving way too fast for a guy in a full heavy iron plate armour.

This looks great, although it's not clear how much finesse/skill plays a part vs team strategy. But a great idea. As a developer I see a game like this and think "man, just rendering a simple arena, no scripting issues, no streaming, yada". Although I did see some client prediction errors occasionally. Thanks for the heads up OP!

I was close to pre-ordering this but instant access was removed. I'll definitely get it at release though, the melee combat looks to be the best ever.

Just watched the trailer and some gameplay videos and I went from knowing almost nothing about this to an instant day one purchase.

This looks much better than War of the Roses and there seems to be a good variety of game modes, including objective based attack/defend modes and non-respawning team based gameplay. The game looks really fun.

I saw this being played a little on Twitch. Looked great but really wish they had the resources to create a single player component. I may still check it out.

This is the first game of its type that doesn't look completely janky (to the point of being silly.) I'll have to give it a try but i'm not sure if my aging pc can handle it.

Ya I've been streaming this all day. Their studio is small. It's actually a virtual studio and most of the team has never met. The devs are always in their beta servers and easily approachable and answer alot of questions.

Did it force a restart while doing pre-req installs for anyone else? That was rude, it killed all my shit and didn't even let me save.

War of the Roses is decent, but there are a number of issues that prevent me from recommending it to anyone.

I played Age of Chivalry back in the Source mod days. Good to see that they are putting out a commercial product.

To be honest, it looks a lot more fun than War of the Roses is. Reminds me of the type of dueling that was prevalent in Jedi Academy and Movie Battles II.

Are beta keys gone?

It's a fun game, with a great concept. At this moment I think I have more issues with Chivalry than I do WOTR. The clipping is really bad. In a melee based game having your weapons clip through the enemy just doesn't work. I'll be bodying a vanguard, his polearm is passing through me an the wall and he still swipes me and does damage, yet the blade is well past me, as if the shaft is doing the damage. WTOR got it right with the players being sold objects.

Looking forward to how this game ends up.

Dude, this is straight up Jedi Knights. Tutorial is pretty funny. Damn deep melee system, 3 different attacks, combos, faking, and a dodge for a certain class.

And you can fucking duck under an enemy's horizontal strike! I've never been able to do that.

I keep trying to play but every time I start it I get this error: "Failed to create D3D device." I can't figure it out. I even tried the resolution fix but nothing still :(
