Any half decent NFL games on switch?

It doesn't need to be top tier. For reasons (long story) I need to learn about the sport. I'm not particularly interested in it so I figure a game is a good way to get me to learn the basic rules. It doesn't need to be top tier just halfway competent.

I really wish blitz was still a thing I remembered enjoying that 20 years ago.

You aren't going to learn anything about the NFL on Switch. Do you have any real consoles?

Wait, there is no madden on switch? I don't play the series personally but that seems like a crazy wasted amount of consoles to not have the series on.

You have a laptop. You can start a free trial on PSNOW or XCLOUD through it. Surely there are football games on them.

Retro Bowl is an amazing game that pays homage to Tecmo Bowl:

It is only $4.99 and the gameplay is really straightforward (albeit limited, since you only play offense and placekicking - no defense, and the playcalling on offense is rather limited). It actually has a pretty deep franchise mode with a challenging in-game economy, a fun draft, and free agent signings, along with detailed team and individual record tracking (but no player league leaders in stats).

One thing I really enjoyed about it is that the roster names are fully customizable (along with the team names for that matter). So, you can change the name for every player on your team.

It seems like this game has been a big hit, so I'm hoping for a Retro Bowl 2 with some more advanced playcalling on offense, defensive playcalling, and some more development in franchise mode (like player league leaders in stats and maybe the ability to edit player names on other teams).

There's Mutant Football League. Like Madden but with a post-nuclear apocalypse setting, mutated players, death trap playing fields and being able to win games by literally killing the opposing team.

Also it has the Blitz/NBA Jam announcer.
