Don't know where the hell they all came from, so while I clean out the apartment is there any bait or trap I can lay out that will attract and kill the ones that are already flying around?

I've heard vinegar works well, but is that only for fruit flies?

Hairspray their wings. They become stuff and can't fly.

However, who uses hairspray anymore?

I did that as a kid.

I wave a fly swatter or rolled up magazine all over the place like a mad man and eventually catch a fly slippin.

I usually let them out the window once I move them towards one. I killed only one this year which didn't get the message to move to the Window.

Lol bugasalt the real deal? Does salt have some special effect on flies I don't know about? Or is it just the perfect sized ammo for this thing? Does it just stun them or does it actually murder them? I must know!!!!

I got a glass jar and placed a piece of fruit inside. I also had a spare piece of fly tape lining the bottom. Put some plastic wrap over the lid, poke a few holes and wait. Eliminated all the flies/fruit flies in my house with that.

They live in your drains, it's gross.

Keep your kitchen super clean, dry off any water on the counters, spray a little bleach down the drain, and leave drain stoppers in when you can. Water is the enemy here.

It's like a shotgun, and it just shoots salt at high velocity at them. A good hit will kill (sometimes it'll even knock their heads clean off), and sometimes it'll stun them for long enough for you to pick them up and drop them off somewhere else.

Another one is get some sugar/fruits and sprinkle fine iron powder on them and place it over a strong neodymium magnet. They will eat it and they will be permanently attracted to magnet.

Came here to post this. Most people I talk to who are dealing with house flies aren't aware that they just need to clean their drains. Ideally, you want some heavy duty foaming drain cleaner, but pouring boiling water down there will sometimes do the trick.

This thing looks fun as hell. Does it really work? l

It does. Incredibly well made too. It's been my go-to country-dude-I-don't-know Christmas gift for a while. Always a big hit. I'm frequently tempted to get one for myself, but I'm rarely pestered by flies.

You could get Bug-A-Salt, the anti-bug salt shotgun.

Is this really what people use? Feels like it'd be annoying having to clean up all the salt this thing shoots out afterwards.

I ordered this thing off Amazon:

Fuckin shits EXPLODE on contact, their charred corpses falling to the tray below. Highly recommend, although the shock is quite loud when they touch it.

Damn, that's kinda fucked up.

Catch them in your hands and enjoy a tiny protein packed treat.

Wait no.

Roll up a newspaper into a semi-rigid state and swat at those worthless fuckers at full speed. Torn rotator cuff be damned.

The fastest and most effective way is to spray them with window cleaner or something similar. Flies tend to hang around windows so you can definitely clean house like that. I still haven't figured out how to stop them from appearing though. There's probably a dead rodent in my attic or something.
