Any word on a Punchout for Wii?

well, let's just hope that way back, like... circa 2003, when Iwata said he was gonna make IRD get back into game development, he meant it.

he promised a new Punch Out! infact. he said he didn't know what system it would come out for, or when, but he said it was coming.

considering that the nunchuck and wiimote = 2 fist, it's a no brainer.

"It is inevitable."

If I don't get a new Punch Out!! soon, I'll be doing a little punching out of my own.

:D

I love those games, yet I'm not sure just why... A PO with characters who don't run off of simple patterns would be sweet, though it might lose some of its charm.

:lol

I'd be happy if they just added wiicontrol with the original. I can just see Nintendo ****ing up a nextgen sequel of it and ruining the francise forever.

Simple patterns would be fine by me if they would include a great Time Attack mode and counter punches like in super punch out... a 2 player mode would also rock.

either way, in the case of punch out, the nunchuck would also get the job done.
But does the nun-chuck calculate depth? It was to my understanding that it's just for tilt?

It detects movement into all directions like the Wiimote. The Wiimote only has the additional sensorbar tracking feature for precise pointing and position detecting.

it would be fun, but can you imagine how tiring it would be. anyone who has ever played this badboy will know what I mean

And wii doesn't have a camera. I think it should, because of applications like this.

People need to shut up about two remotes, seriously. The nunchuk makes much more sense as you'd be able to control your boxer's movement with the analog stick in addition to using the motion-sensing for punching.

The gloves have realistic weight to them.
