Anybody Else Want Metroid Prime on 3DS?

I wanna see Retro make a 3D Donkey Kong platformer for 3DS modeled after SM3DL. Stereoscopic 3D would be perfect for vine swinging and barrel blasting and whatnot.

Metroid Fusion 2 would be best. I know people don't like how linear that game is, but it makes much better sense for a portable system.

I really want a new 2D Metroid for the 3DS. I'm not sure how the 3D would enhance a 2D game, but I'm sure they could think of something. As for Wii U, I want to be blown away by Prime 4 or whatever they choose to do. The atmosphere is going to be absolutely insane.

If you have a 3DS, just look my screens above, you'll see how this is amazing.

I love the Metroid Prime trilogy to pieces and Retro is a pretty talented developer. With that said I don't want another Prime for a long time. As I said they were great but they were better as a trilogy and Retro can do so much more than just Metroid. I'd rather Metroid and Retro further advance and go into different directions. While the Prime series was great, I don't think it's the direction Metroid should head in.

I'd love to see a Metroid 2D sidescroller(Dread) that takes advantage of the 3D so that there are tons of secrets that can be discovered as well as tunnels and other corridors that could be enhanced and emphasized with the 3D. Even though Other M was a flop considering all of Sakamoto's other highly successful new IPs he's made during the Wii/DS era he could probably get leverage to do a low budget 2D Metroid.
Prime is great yet it's not the direction Metroid should head in? That makes no sense.

There is no reason 3D Metroid in the style of Prime AND 2D Metroid cannot co-exist. They did so perfectly in the GC/GBA era. I prefer Prime over 2D Metroid though.

Metroid Fusion 2 would be best. I know people don't like how linear that game is, but it makes much better sense for a portable system.
Fusion is great; I think after Prime it's the one with the best atmosphere, and I think it's also by far the most 'terrifying'. If only Other M was half as good :\

Yes. I love Metroid Prime, but haven't played it since release since I sold my GameCube and don't have a Wii. I would gladly play full price for a direct port and not feel slightly ripped off like I did with SF64.

No thanks. I wouldn't mind Retro getting another crack at the series, but I could do without the First Person perspective.

In fact, after DKC:R, I would love to see what they could do with a 2D-style Metroid.

with metroid: other M controls? oh my god that would be lovely

I'd love a FPS Prime on Wii U, I think the tablet could provide interesting methods of control for things like scanning and the bestiary. Prime is one of the few series out there that has enough additional data to read through that it would make the tablet feel appropriate as an supplementive info PDA. The single-stick controls of the originals were fine with the comfy Cube controller, but I would rather not go through that hell on the cramped confines of the 3DS, even less so with a stick + stylus setup. If they wait until the second stick attachment becomes more accepted, and (hopefully) gets added permanently in a hardware revision, then I would be fine with it. Otherwise I would much rather see what Retro could do with a 2.5D Metroid on the 3DS.

First post nails it as usual. I just want a Metroid Prime on anything. But yeah it'd be a cool game for 3D, so 3DS is a good choice. I'm suspecting we might see it on the Wii U instead though. I don't know why, just a feeling.

As long as the controls aren't as terrible as Hunters.

This - In addiction 3DS is less suitable to FPS than DS/DSI because left handed people can't use analog stick that's of course on the left side of the console.

Metroid must be launch title for 3DS restyling with dual analog and multitouch screen

I'd rather just have another Metroid game period. It's looking like the series could be in some major trouble though. It's gonna be hard to recover from Other M.

No more Primes. The games were amazing but we got three of them in a very short timespan. I prefer series missteps that try to do different things to the same thing over and over.

Eh, I think I've had my fill of remakes for awhile. Zelda and StarFox were both great, but I think it's about time we got some non-Mario Nintendo franchises with new entries.

I would definitely be excited about a new first-person Metroid though. I'd say I'm probably ambivalent between first-person and side-scrolling.

The retro studio Metroid games got worse as the series progressed as far as gameplay and level prgression and design go. They are a developer that needs strong oversight and direction to make good games. The annecdotes from DK wii development also seem to support this.

I'll take a Prime, but I'd rather see it on WiiU. I do really want another 2D Metroid and the 3DS would be a perfect fit (ironically I guess). 2D games work wonders in 3D.

An Other M style game is perfect for 3DS. It would solve just about every issue they had with it. They wouldn't be limited by the controls and due to it being a portable system, there isn't as much demand for cut scenes. Hopefully they learned that lesson from Other M & MP3 anyway. I'd like to see another 2D Metroid game, but I think it's unlikely. It makes sense for them to use Other M as a guide for how to make a game for 3DS. A Prime game would be much better suited for Wii U.

I didn't want Metroid Prime in the first place, and after three of them I hope it never rears its ugly head again.

2D or bust. It was fucking criminal that the DS didn't get a 2D Metroid game. Even a straightforward Super Metroid port with a touch screen item menu would have been god-like.

I must be one of the few who really enjoyed hunters, sunk tens of hours into the mp too.

Had no problem withe controls coming from a primarily PC gamer.

I want a new Hunters. The controls were perfect and it had the best multiplayer AND online functions of ANY Nintendo game to date. This includes Mario Kart Wii and 7.

The only thing that sucked was the balancing. You had WAY too much health.

handheld screen wouldn't replicate the large scale environments I came to expect from the serie, so as much as I would drool over a MP3DS, I'd rather a 2.5D one
