Anyone else dangerously close to succumbing and picking up an Xbox One for Titanfall?

I already have a system to play tighten fall on. It's called an Xbox 360. Not even close to buying an Xbox one for this game or any other games that have been announced.

They started making these.

I'm not sure if they're proof of concept or an actual item for sale, but you could look into it. They're calling them HDMI cables. I'm not sure if they'll ever catch on but if they do there's a potential solution to that age old problem!

I wouldn't think that here on GAF that it would change anybody's mind to that degree. Being a fairly enthusiast group I would assume most already have the hardware they want and are fairly entrenched into their own respective position. Even if the game pleasantly surprised anyone here they probably already had a plan of where they were going to playing it and when.

As far as if this will move consoles, it probably will, seems like there are people out there that have been waiting to pull the trigger once there were more games they were interested in. In general though it feels like everything about the current state of the industry pushes toward heavily front loading sales.

Are you high OP? I will not buy this game, because if I do it, it shows that I support MS and EA's manufactured hype 3rd party exclusive bs. However, its a great game. I'll just pretend that I am playing it on my ps4 and buy the inevitable TF2 on my ps4.

Nah I'm not really into multiplayer games and even if I was I do have a pc which would run the game better and would allow me to use a better control scheme.

Lmao. This is great.

"Nobody should buy Titanfall" + "I will buy it on my PS4" = o_O

I don't understand, if you have a 360, why not use your 360?

Or at the very least, wait until the 360 version comes out and we get a chance to see how it compares.

Odds are very good that the Xbone and the 360 versions of Titanfall will be suspiciously similar and I would be entirely unsurprised if the two week delay for the 360 version is precisely because it's too close to the Xbone version for Microsoft's comfort and some money changed hands. If you haven't got rid of your 360 and don't have a recent-ish (i.e. within the last five years) PC with a graphics card, wait the two weeks.

I could just get it on 360. Besides, my March is already packed with Dark Souls II, South Park The Stick of Truth, and Infamous Second Son.

LOLZ. I wish you were trolling.

Nah, online FPS games aren't really my thing. I am in for Kinect Sports: Rivals though. I'm sure I'll get around to some of the other exclusives too at some point. At least Forza and DR3.

Funnily enough I bought a launch PS4 with absolutely no real reason. Nothing seemed like "must have" but (Jaguar excluded) I've never regretted any console that I got, so I got it anyway. Still ended up being the best launch period ever for me.

Quite serious though. Yikes.

Already have one and loved the beta. I'm not really trusting the 360 version, though it's a hefty investment to make if you already have the console so I'd probably just wait and see how that turns out.

I already picked mine up this week. Gamestop is giving 50% extra trade credit on systems toward next gen consoles, and they gave me more for my PS4 than i originally paid for it. Around $420 in credit for the system alone. I regret buying into the hype around the PS4 when the XB1 always had the more appealing exclusives to me in the foreseeable future.

Its unfortunate that the XB1 is less powerful, sure, but its not really as bad as its made out to be on here. At least with my experience playing BF4 on both, and seeing both Ryse and KZ:SF. Titanfall beta looked fine to me, but most important of all it was fun, and will keep me playing longer than infamous and the order are likely to combined.

Team Fortress 2 is going to be on the PS4?

How is the lobby system on PC? I fucking hate battlelog on BF4 so much on PC that I never play the game. Does Titanfall use a similar system on PC as it does on the 'bone? (I played open beta on the bone).

Played the beta on PC, nope.

I actually bought Battlefield 4 because of this game though. Seems like the only decent modern shooter, besides CSGO.

(and Quake Live but yeah, it's not on Steam so in reality it doesn't exist)

Nicely said.

Given the history of such overwhelming, vocal opinions on GAF, I'd say based on this thread Titanfall could be one of the best-selling games of the year.

Titanfall is going to sell just fine. The whole point though is that it won't cause very many people to buy an XBO. There's nothing about it that screams "XBO is the only platform worthy of playing this game." Game will sell just fine in total. But won't be a huge push for XBO sales.

Already have a Bone but will not pay the extra for gold until H2 Anniversary releases. Wife wants to play TitanFall together badly so we will be doing it on her HTPC + 60" panny and my gaming PC.

1440p > 1080p anyway

I finally picked up a ONE in anticipation for Titanfall, the BETA was hella fun and am very excited to get in and play the full game. Comes down to friends list, 360 was my home for online multiplayer. I picked up a PS4 on launch day and love it, but missed my friends on XBOX, the BETA for Titanfall brought us all back together and it was fun as hell and that was only 2 maps and one titan. Also Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5 are good fun games to hold you over in the meantime.

If I were faced with that decision I'd take the $499 and build a PC that can play the game better than an Xbox 1 and do a heck of a lot of other things as well. That price is killing them.
