Anyone else eat gum like candy?

My girlfriend finds it disgusting and is convinced its bad for me but I go through gum like crazy, especially fruity kinds that taste like Starbursts. Today I ate entire pack of Trident Layers. I never have any issues with my digestive system so I think all of that stuff is just urban myths and it's healthier than me actually eating a pack of actual Starbursts?

I'm all about that Trident Original. Always pop a piece after every meal and tear through packs at work.

Gum is designed to be chewed, but have it your way I guess. The 7 years thing is bullcrap. It'll go through your system like eating a coin or something.

I doubt he eats it. Probably meant chew.

I like the Swedish Fish gum, but the flavors goes away in seconds.

No I swallow it actually. It's a bad habit, I don't know to me it's kind of like eating a Starburst so I just swallow it. Girlfriend thinks I'm crazy but I've been doing it throughout my life.

The dude literally says he eats it though and talks about no digestive issues.

Also OP, apparently the only real way you can block your digestive tract is to swallow a metric fuckton of gum at once or swallow a great deal of bits in a short time.

Honestly I don't really care about swallowing gum, I've done it, but I mean I'm not killing a pack in one day though so that seems sketchy. 9 out of 10 times I'll just drop it in the trash unless there's none near by and I feel bad about just spitting it on the floor. Prob shouldn't swallow a pack of gum a day fam, you can't digest it.

LMAO.

But for discussion sake, saying chew or try would make a more participatory thread lol. Not many people eat gum, even candy flavored gum.

Yeah, I thought he was BSing. Guess not!

You need to stop doing that. Don't swallow gum, it can give you some digestive problems. That shit takes forever to pass (not tje 9 years or whatever, but still).

Used to chew on so many bubble gum during elementary school, it made me fat lol

Now shoot I can't remember the last time I even had gum. I completely avoid it.

That can't be good for your plumbing. It doesn't digest, so it comes out in your poop, and you're basically just putting gum into your toilet, which is a really bad idea.

I don't normally buy gum, but when I do I tend to chain chew it like a 2 pack a day smoker. Popping another one in as soon as the flavor starts to fade. I don't buy gum that often, though, maybe once every other month or so.

Gum almost 24/7 crew. For the fruity flavors I'll get new pieces every hour or so but with Orbits Wintermint I can make a piece last 4+.

I'd be too afraid to do that quite honestly. Makes no sense. Seems you have a mind game in your head pushing you to it.

Just get candy which has many more flavors and varieties

Nope. Works for me. But I literaly chew gum from when I get up until I go to bed. Only stop to eat, shower and brush, it's a pretty bad habit if I had a stick at a time my gum budget would skyrocket.

With a jaw like that, women must love you.

It's hard for me not to swallow gum, it just feels so wrong not to and it makes me uncomfortable. That said, I usually try to avoid it. If anything I'll swallow a really tiny piece and then get rid of the rest.

Also, there's swedish fish and sour patch gum? Dang, I need those.

Gotta pretend to be Mr perfect and spit it out and smack it away with your hand.

Per Mayo Clinic:

If you swallow gum, it's true that your body can't digest it. But the gum doesn't stay in your stomach. It moves relatively intact through your digestive system and is excreted in your stool. On rare occasions, large amounts of swallowed gum combined with constipation have blocked intestines in children.Feb 12, 2014

Swallowing the gum, not sure if it'll have any negative effects, but not sure about doing it for a prolonged period of time.

I used to chew gum almost every other day. I stopped after it started hurting my jaw, and started getting symptoms of teeth clenching/bruxism while I slept.

I actually swallowed a bit recently on accident because I took exedrin migraine in a rush because the headache was contingent on fast. Threw them in my mouth than washed it down with ice tea before realizing my gum was still in my mouth.

Didn't notice and difference in the crapper though.
