Anyone else have Amazon Prime shipping fail so hard

I preordered 7th Dragon III: Code VFD and it had a guaranteed delivery of tomorrow but for some reason it just shipped today as USPS Parcel Select from across the country and says it will be delivered tomorrow but lolno.

Called CS and they are like "the date is an estimate, you could get it anytime between tomorrow and Monday, thanks for being a Prime Member"

I'm sorry to hear it. It's often an issue. I recommend if you use them to contact them 2 days before you're supposed to get your item to make sure you're getting release day delivery and it's all set.

BTW, FWIW I haven't ever had an issue with GCU release day delivery.

My games with release day delivery always are shipped between 16h00 and 18h00 the day before the release and I get them on release day. I guess it depend how far you are from their distribution center. Mine is about 600 KM away, they almost always ship from Missisauga, ON.

had issues with this a few times, but I always catch them when they change my ETA to one day later or sometimes even 2 or 3 of what was estimated when I first placed the order, of course, with no email, just a shady move

I contact them immediately, explain the situation, and usually have my order changed to 1 day priority with no extra charge.

Not sure something can be done when the product has already been shipped , but I suggest you to keep contacting them and mentioning this issue

Been prime member for I guess almost 4 years? not so sure, but they sometimes take that in consideration, I guess it entirely depends on the CS agent taking your case/

No, however my state had multiple fulfillment centers in neighboring states. Amazon also opened up a warehouse in the state I live in a couple years ago. Always on time or sometimes a day or two early.

I've seen shipping confirmations for pre-order stuff come in at times that seems impossibly late and still get them the next day, so you might have a shot still.

Nope, it's been great and never missed a date. Sometimes I've got same day delivery! (I live in Dallas, once ordered a cable in the morning using prime standard shipping and got it that afternoon at 4pm!)

I've had them fuck up before and I complained and was given credit for my issues. If it's a game I really want, I just then go and buy it from Best Buy or some place and return the wrapped copy once it comes. I guess this is harder to do nowadays with retailer specific bonuses and stuff on some games..

I would always recommend doing the online chat for issues. A large majority of the time the CSRs don't seem to understand English very well so they're more likely to just give out stuff.

It happens. Make sure they extend your prime for a month as per their policy. I kept it going for about six months based on their missing ship dates.

They are pretty bad at shipping things to my area (Bucks county, PA) within the two-day promise. They keep extending my subscription for one month each time they miss the delivery window, which has been four times in the last year or so.

I just signed up for the free Prime membership last week and my first delivery were literally returned to them before it even left the UK. I had never had that happen to me in years prior. They said the parcel might have become damaged during transit.

So I put in a new order for the same game, and now it's supposed to arrive in 10 days. I got a refund from the past delivery.

My last two release day games have been sketchy on the delivery.

My last one didn't ship until the day before but it did still arrive. So keep that in mind, they could have over nighted it to you despite the fact you didn't pay for over night.

So far, they have delivered all games on release date, with the exception of Grand Kingdom, which I assume was because I preordered the limited edition two weeks before release.

As for the game OP mentioned, for me the current status is preparing for shipment, with delivery date tomorrow. I assume they will use UPS or their own Amazon delivery service. Oh, and the game is delivered to Florida.

I've had multiple items ship the day before estimated from all over and they all get to me on time. I've never had a problem with Prime shipping, sometimes even get stuff early.

They can do it all correctly on their end, the service still relies on humans doing their job correctly. Don't lose too much sleep over it.

I've had items marked as that still show up on time. Even early once.

I'd wait till it happened, then complain.

Ok, I probably still wouldn't complain. Why? I order hundreds of items a year from Amazon on Prime, and this almost never happens.

I've preordered a lot of games from Amazon and they have always arrived on the release date. This despite the fact they usually don't ship until 10-11 pm the night before and still never been a problem.

I've bought hundreds of items on Amazon and I've only had a few items miss their delivery window. Usually it's not Amazons fault either if it did... Like UPS/FedEx/USPS losing a package.

I'd wait until Wednesday to complain, and I'd imagine Amazon will give you an account credit. Like others said, I've had items that say they were shipped on Monday and I felt like there isn't a chance they'll get on time, and then somehow they show up at my door on time.

Only once did a release date order of mine not get delivered on time, and sadly, it was GTAV... But it was FedEx/UPS' fault, they lost the package and accidentally delivered it to another house a few miles from me. The person who got it was a saint and actually drove it over to my house and handed it to me at like 9PM and said "I figured this was GTAV and you've been waiting for it, I ordered it too." Really nice guy.

I don't think I've ever had something not hit the date Amazon has stated it would deliver by. I buy a lot from the site too, including pre-ordered games.

Amazon has never missed a date for me and I've ordered a pretty decent amount of items from me. None of my preorders have been missed or my one day deliveries.

I have not had a problem with any overnight service they use. Pretty much every new release from amazon ships the day before release date and they are always on time in my experience.

Outside of the recent Aksys debacle with the watch versions of Zero Time Dilemma, I've never had an issue with Prime shipping games on release date. Been a Prime member for around 8 years now.

Prime delivery is terrible in the UK. They use "Amazon logistics" which is basically individual subcontractors in their own vehicles (similar to the way Yodel operate).

I have actually got an extra eight months of Prime membership accrued to the end of my original expiry date as they failed to deliver on time. I don't live out in the sticks (in fact I live a few miles away from one of the major London airports) it's not as if my house is inaccessible.

I have for ages pleaded for them to use DPD as the only delivery service for my items, however they refuse to budget - I guess down to the cost of next day postage.

Not great.

amazon screwed up my release day delivery of overwatch, ended up being 5 days late. it was a supply issue, not a delivery issue, but they didn't say anything until the morning of the supposed delivery, so they handled it poorly.

That really sucks to hear, OP. I've had more things arrive early than late. One item came late and I complained and got some money back for it. Maybe you will be compensated if it ends up being late?

Lately my problem has been more with UPS. Best Buy/Amazon will ship it with plenty of time, but then UPS takes its sweet time for whatever reason.

Date wise they are pretty good, but they are intentionally vague at the time of order whether or not you are getting release date delivery. It isn't unusual for smaller games I have preordered to ship on the release date, instead of deliver, but you can usually argue for early delivery in these cases.

I have a bigger problem with their packaging, just completely inadequate for anything that isn't in a standard BD box and even then, you could argue bubble envelope is insufficient.

It has happened once out of hundreds of orders, and they extended my membership for the trouble.

Hang up the phone, get another agent. If they say the same thing tell them you want to cancel.

That's some terrible CS.

But if you're paying 100.00 for Prime stuff like this shouldn't happen..

It seems to happen a lot with prime. But I guess it really only amounts to around 3% to 5% of my packages having issues.. I typically get several hundred packages from amazon every year sent to my home. And I'll have issues with 10 to 20 of them. I'll get a free month of prime and/or up to $20 in credit when a package does not arrive when it's supposed to. In the last nine months I've received a year of prime free, plus around $100 in credits for screwups with my Amazon Prime packages.

Same here always quick shipping! ... but I'm about 20km from the Mississauga warehouse :D

My experience as well.

All the time.
Is why I usually order stuff that I have no rush to get.

Worse is that Amazon Prime for Puerto Rico instead of free two day shipping, is free standard shipping; despite paying the same fee.

Which wouldn't be bad, if it wasn't for the fact that standard shipping from Amazon is "we ship whenever we want to". So even exact same items have different estimates.

So, you can order something today July 11, have a delivery estimate until July 25 and they either:

-Ship July 12 through Parcelpool, which can take up to 14 days therefore meet their estimate.

-Ship July 11 with one day shipping and have it arrive July 12 though UPS.

-Ship July 20 through Priority Shipping and have it delivered by July 24.

-Ship on July 24 though one day shipping and have it delivered on July 25 and meet the estimate.

I still like them and their customer support is great, but their shipping methods has gone down in quality over the years. I still remember when they usually shipped items in 24 hours after placing an order, so even Parcelpool could have it here in 7 days.

Now, the order can sit there for 13 days and they ship it next day, just have it here in the 14th day.

And then there's the packaging. You can receive one game in a box big enough to fit a PS4, and the next game arrive in a padded envelope tight enough to fit the game.

UPS when ordered from amazon sometimes delivers my packages to some fish processing plant with a similar address. The driver seems like he is totally baked as he properly delivers the package and apologizes for the mixup.

Prime is pretty rubbish for release date delivery in the UK. Prime is fine for everything else, I always get it next day. Hell, we have Prime Now here now and I got something within 40mins the other day without even paying for the hour window delivery. Pre-orders end up being hit and miss though down to the fact they don't dispatch early enough. Often not even dispatching till day of release, and well it's too late then isn't it.
I think they give you a free month is your item doesn't make the delivery date
In the UK it's hit and miss if they do that. Often I've complained and just got an empty apology.
