Anyone else playing Cruis'n World right now?

I didn't think so.

Cruuuuuuuiiisin' YEAH!

My brother and I have to be the only people on the planet right now playing Cruis'n World.

Cruis'n Shuffle is the best song in the game.

The Cruis'n games are the most fun to be had with an arcade racer.

Next up...

They are the most fun AT THE ARCADE. N64 ports are ****ing horrible.
Cruisin' USA is my fav of all and it's also the most shitty arcade port of the history of gaming --- it means i'm not happy.

Arcade versions are always the best, but there's no way we can fit 3 arcade cabinets in here.

Cruisn' World is sweet.

MALE: Cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuis'nnnnnnnnnnnn yeah
FEMALE: Exoticaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

I know ports are rarely as good as the arcade version but just to give you an example, i bought San Fransisco Rush because the port (while being less hot than the arcade) was still so goog i bought the game and actually played alot.

But anyway, i support this thread if only just for the love Cruisin'USA "the Outrun ass kicker".

I played Cruis'n USA and World quite a bit on the N64. It's a very fun multi-player game. I love how you crash on the side of the road and sometimes magically appear in the center again going full speed. How did Exotica on the 64 turn out?

Loved Cruisn' USA in the arcade, hated the N64 port. The N64 Midway games were so laughably bad.

After playing Cruis'n USA pretty hard-out on the n64 I was ****ing pumped when I bumped into the arcade version. In the end I was not impressed.

Once again, people complaining about Valkyrie Profile being a bad port. . .play the N64 versions of the Cruis'n games. If you think VP is a bad port. . .you probably haven't played a bad port.

I bought Exotica and remember being pretty let down by it. All the cooler atmosphere elements from the arcade game were missing and the game just lacked a sense of speed. Feeling like every car in the game was just plodding along was a real killer for me. Did they switch developers for that port? Because I remember really enjoying the first two titles...

Cruiiiiiisinnn Yeaaaah-aahheeeeeeeee. Crusin-USA.

YEAH-HEH! WHOAH WHOAH! WHOAH WHOAH WHOAH WHOAHO YEAH! Crusin-USA.

I'm pretty sure it's Eurocom. I remember it getting horrible reviews, but so did the other ones. There are just some games out there that are a lot of fun yet total technical pieces of shit.

Like many youtube videos it is pointless, worthless, and bizarre... but for some reason I watched the whole thing. I think perhaps it is because that it not only is pointless, worthless, and bizarre, but it also makes no sense whatsoever and proceeds in a completely random fashion.

The arcade ones were great. Especially beyond USA because of the double-tap gas for tricks and shit.

One time I was at a pizza parlor playing Cruisn' USA. My sister was there celebrating a good season of soccer with her team. (8 year old stuff, y'know.)
There were some other sports teams there that night, too. Including an elementary school soccer team that was composed of mentally challenged kids. It wasn't a big deal. They did the normal yelling, but didn't bother anyone.
I was playing Cruisin' USA and got a bit of a following. The kids loved watching me play for some reason. Anyways, I just complete the second to last track. As I'm reaching for the quarters in my pockets, one of the retards JAMS the radio button to speed down the counter to 0, effectively wasting my time. I get LIVID and glare at him. He's too ****ing retarded to even know. Argh. I couldn't do anything...

Edit:

I really want to get Midway Arcade Treasure 3. I have the first two for the Cube. I want to get the third for the Cube, but heard there was immense slowdown. If it's just in Rush 2049, I dont' care, because I still have my Dreamcast hooked up solely for that game.

The next Midway Arcade Treasure better have all the Cruis'n games.
I don't think it's likely, as -- though I could be mistaken -- I believe there's some sort of co-ownership deal with Nintendo. None of the games have ever appeared on a non-Nintendo platform.

When Cruisin' USA hit arcades, I was floored. At the time, it was definitely a tell your friends "you have to ****ing play this!" kinda game. Shame about those ports...

If you like the Cruisin' serie, you have to try California Speed [N64]. the music, the course diversity, fun easy controls and the yellow golf cart made this game so much fun! Everything is bad about it except the fun factor. We still play it to beat our time records to these days. :lol

Anyone else seen the Fast and the Furious game that very clearly and obviously uses the crusin engine? we have one here at a local pizza place, even offers up to 4 at a time races.

A few ago, Cruis'n World, unexpectedly, became one of the top most popular games at Sunnyvale Golfland.

Around the time Beatmania IIDX 8th Style was released, SVGL moved it next to the long since abandoned Cruis'n World machine. Thanks to long IIDX lines and boredom, Cruis'n World was then renamed to "Tatsujin Racing" and the coin line began.

Christ, this game is god awful. . but thats what makes it fun.

The best arcade-style racing game for the N64 was the one that never even came out in arcades...

Beatle Adventure Racing

I have no idea how you came to that conclusion, I was a car freak as a kid and i played every single car game there was out there...Beatle Adventure racing was pure garbage....i remember the terrible handling in that game. I must completely disagree.
Best racing game on 64, in my honnest opinion ofcourse, would be between SF Rush, Cruis'n USA/World and F1 pole position racing.

I felt the same - gotta love driving the school bus. Hold the camera button down, bitch. I try to do that in every arcade racer out there since I played Cruisin'.

Hmm.

(Top Gear Rally)

Never played the N64 ports but I can only imagine :P The arcade games were a lot of fun, didn't ever really get much respect with the hardcore but my friends and I would just keep pumping quarters into this game... never forget when we beat World to see our car driving on the moon, that was awesome.

Top Gear Rally was ****ing amazing until I found that the game did not needed to turn :lol

Beetle Racing Adventure was nice art and tech side, but the handling sucked and broke the game.

F-Zero X was the best arcare racing experience on the system.

And my second favorite was MRC (Multi Racing Championship from Genki) wich was not beatiful but enjoyable a lot.

The rest were fine but not enought.

Joke post of the year?

Nope. We just did World, I think USA & Exotica were done by Midway internally.
You worked on World? Got any interesting comments on the development of it?

Also, wasn't Cruis'n a Nintendo IP at one point? Or is it still...

I LOVED Cruisn USA in arcades and was dying to get it for 64, despite all the negative reviews and watered down experience. Unfortunately it was around the launch window when there was absolutely no N64 software available in any store, so I never got to buy it. Cruisn World however did rock. It was a lot closer to the arcade than USA was. Just a fun flashy experience. I love racing games where you race from point A to B instead of lap tracks. I'd love to see a modern take at the game with slightly more realistic driving and amazing looking tracks.
