Anyone else think Infamous: Second Son's hero looks like a dickbag?

I think it suits the infamous franchise to have an arrogant cocky character rather than Cole, the super serious/no emotions guy. Infamous is about having fun & I think they made the right choice in choosing a fun character.
He sort of reminds me of Dante from DMC1 on ps2.

No, but I'm not familiar with how someone can look like a dickbag (unless it's from behaviour? Did he kick a puppy?).

I will say the design is such a cop-out for excluding next gen hair. Cole had a buzz cut and this new guy has beanie.

Yeah I wish there were hair. Also his actual costuming is really weird with that jean vest. but whatever, he seems cool enough. day 1!!

He's a total dork. I love Sucker Punch's games but they sure have a knack for creating unlikable characters.

But still, at least this guy doesn't suck as bad as Zeke.

I think he's alright.

Seems like a cool dude, although I've always liked cocky people.

Big improvement over Cole who was just so damn grumpy all the time.

This new guy seems to enjoy his new powers. I can sympathize with that. I hope to enjoy them to.

I just hate the hat. The rest of it: clothes, attitude, etc. doesn't bother me. Like I've said before. Offer some kind of alternate-hat or no-hat DLC and I'll buy it. Everyone can be happy here.

It's like Bionic Commando 2009. They had their new douche-looking Spencer, but they offered a way to use a different skin (in this case classic Spencer) and I happily took it and have never played the game with douche-Spencer.

This time, I don't even need a skin. Just a way to remove or change the hat. I can't explain why I dislike his hat so much. I don't like those in real life either.

And not in a Kratos' Hulk-Terminator kind of way, but more of dmc Dante pre-fan hysteria that led to character changes.

His face makes me want to punch it rather than play him. The beanie doesn't help. I didn't mind Cole McGrath (hero from previous games) that much.

Yes he is.

I can confirm I am dickbag.

This was the first infamous that actually looked fun to play to me but the main character completely turned me off of it.

I kinda like him, he reminds me of the original Dante. But I guess he's like the new Dante in the sense that it's what Ninja Theory was going for but completely failed on every level.

I'll take him easily over angry, bald, middle-30s white guy. Besides, it fits with the setting (they're in Seattle, come on!) and the whole premise of the game.

To be honest a lot of you judgmental people who'd "like to punch him in the face" just because some fictional character wears a beanie seem much more douche-bagey than Second Son's main character.

I think it should be interesting. I was mostly a dick in the earlier Infamous games so maybe now I can have a character to mirror my actions. Also it has potential to put him through some sort of arch.

I think Tony Soprano is a dickbag

in unrelated news, The Sopranos is a great show

in other words he can be a dickbag as long as he's an interesting dickbag
This. Gamers who make threads on the Internet because try think their precocious avatar needs to be cool/likable/awesome-art-style-bro need to consume some other media from time to time. Grow up!

I can't say much about his personality yet, but I loathe his clothing and dress sense. If I see anyone wearing skinny jeans, I'm obligated to hate them.

I hate his name and his whole "Bam Margera with superpowers" vibe. Bam Margera can suck a nut and if this guy's anything like him, I doubt I'll pick up the game.

Not at all.

I think he looks fun -if someone can look fun-, I like how they are portraying him, he is so different from Cole, we need more diverse characters rather than the same gruffy looking military guy.

You know it's not like some people wear skinny jeans because they make skateboarding easier. The people that wear them are just dickbags.

His cocky-ness is refreshing honestly. Tired of the "I didn't ask for this" style character.

His attitude really fits the style of game they're trying to make IMO.

I think that was the point. Make him look like a dickbag and make his character grow even further. I think its fun playing as him in the Infamous universe though.

Yeah OP, I don't like it much either. Most probably because I'm way too old now to wear skinny jeans. Yuck! Him being more "light hearted" than Cole is an improvement though so... I may like him in the end. I won't give up on the game for that.

Like with most open world games i would prefer character customization.
In that regard a lot of these type of games should learn from Saints Row.

And yeah, i don't like him.

No, SR is fun, but it just feels like so much is tacked on just for the sake of doing it. Not every game needs a progression system like that.

Character seems cool. Of course people are calling him a "douche" after seeing so little of the game. All we've seen so far is someone who wouldn't sit well with most people, obviously he is pissed off any not taking any shit. It's hard for me to view him as anything at this point, we don't know the whole story. Whoever is calling him a douche for what he's wearing.. don't really know what to say to that. Must be some hip peeps.
i don't wear jeans that snug

I was worried at first but he looks like such a fun guy.

We should get him on the show, talk to Zorak.

So having a beanie makes you a douchebag now?

I've come to realize that any sort of clothing style that looks like you spent more than 5 seconds thinking about it makes you a douche bag.

I think the guy in Infamous: Second Son seems like a bit of a hipster douche, but a fun hipster douche. I think it's the kind of character that you don't like immediately, but grows on you like a fungus.

He is happy about his superpowers. I'm a big spiderman fan, but not every super hero needs to treat his powers as a curse or a burden.

I like that he isn't another typical superhero that is all angsty and groaning about his powers being a curse. He actually enjoys them.

Edit: just realised the above post is the same, hehe.

I think that was the point. Make him look like a dickbag and make his character grow even further. I think its fun playing as him in the Infamous universe though.

Why? Why does every character have to "grow" as a person?

I just want to play as a dickbag just like me, who never learns a valuable lesson, takes everything for granted and life just works out great on it own.

This is DMC all over again. Haven't you learned not to judge a book by its cover yet.
THERE'S A THREAD DEDICATED TO HOW SOMEONE LOOKS, OR APPEARS IN A 40 SECOND TRAILER. HOLY SHIT.

Yeah, he's definitely a dickBAG.

So he's now a boosack?

Who gets bullied by 130 lb hipsters?

Garden gnomes, and obese cats. He's one of them.

Honestly, as someone who is not an Infamous fan by any stretch of the imagination, he's the one thing that stood out to me about the game.

I really like his design and somewhat cocky personality. I'll probably give Second Son a chance because of him.
