Anyone else trading their Wii U for a PS4 preorder?

I always find it weird that people think X is something graphically impressive.

on rail =/= free roaming.
That's basically comparing a gif of re4 and a gif of Darkside chronicle.
If Killzone is anything other than your average corridor shooter we'll talk.

Not bad Wario :lol

To answer your question: I'll keep my Wii U and I am on board with the PS4. Can't wait for E3 to see the good stuff!

No

Even if Nintendo's console was an expensive shit, and Sony's console was the second comming of jesus, you can't convince Nintendogs to change sides...

I'm going to trade my Wii U for a PS4 and then trade my PS4 back for a Wii U once Zelda comes out!

(Crazy thing is, I know some people who'd do something like that!)

For me, I'd love to have both as a combo, like the PSWii or Wii60. I still think Nintendo's 1st party games are the best.

Absolutely not.
I still don't know the price of the PS4, neither its launch lineup. Plus, it's not backward compatible. So, I'm not sure to buy it this year 2013. Probably I'll buy it later in the 2014, once finished all my back catalog of PS3 games, so I'll trade in the PS3 to buy the PS4.
Wii U is still in its early start of lifecycle and will offer for sure a lot of interesting exclusive that put aside the vast library PS4 will probably have, will offer a complete gaming experience for this gen.

Nope. Although I've been disappointed so far I know if I sell it now I'll have to buy it again when the franchises arrive. Patience isn't my strong point but I know I'd crumble at 1st sight of a 3d Mario.

Keeping mine. I brought it for Nintendo games and eventual hacking/emulation. PS4 will be my other console for everything else, if I have enough free time when it actually comes out to make it worthwhile to buy.

Short of it dying I won't be getting rid of my Wii U, ever. Anyone who didn't buy a Wii U with the primary purpose of playing the exclusive games, particularly Nintendo first party, has no idea wtf they are doing with their money. I'm as confident as ever that the Wii U will have some killer games and anyone who eskews it it wholly in favor of the PS4 will be missing out.

I will still be first in line at my local gamestop to order a PS4, just as I did with the Wii U. Believe.

... Ever, huh? No chance in hell there will ever be a game on this console that has yet to launch you'd want?

You must be psychic.

hahahaha, ever is a long time
Oh boy, its like I can't want a Sony or Microsoft system. Its like I can't like Sony's or Microsoft's Exclusives. Why is it so wrong for me not wanting their consoles or ever planning on picking them up? Jesus fucking christ.
Sorry I can't hear you over the sound of the entire message board laughing at you. Don't quit your day job, financial analyst.

Haha, man you sure did show me. Thanks, I'll continue being a financial analyst.

No.
I've owned all mainstream consoles dating back to the PS2 era. Don't know how much I'll end up having to fork out by the end of the fall, but I probably won't even open them until a solid lineup of games begin to emerge. Although I did play Gears of War when it came out in 2006, I didn't completely transition off of the previous PS2 era until late 2007, when games like Assassin's Creed, Burnout:Paradise and Bioshock hit shelves. There are still alot of AAA games coming out this fall for the PS3 -- moreso than I recall the PS2 having by the time PS3 was released. I recall that Final Fantasy XII and God of War 2 being the only games on my radar by the end of 2006.

I'll take both.

PS4 can't play Smash 4.

Yeah I have to get one eventually because of games like Smash 4.

But Songs event straight up humiliated Nintendo in my opinion. The Wii U's online initiative doesn't even scratch the initiative of what the other next gen consoles will have and the Wii U hardware itself seems way overpriced in comparison to what Sony and I guess Microsoft will have in their platforms to sustain them for another half decade or more.

Man, GAF is so unreliable for me currently, it's annoying. Doesn't the thread title say something different than the OP body? You're so provocative!

Not at all. I sold my wii last gen on impluse and ended up buying another for last story, xenoblade, donkey kong, etc,. Won't be making that mistake again.

That costs too much money. If I had infinite money I would buy a PS4 day one
but it would be just be gathering dust in my mansion full of pinball and arcade machines
.
Oh.

Well, if I can only have one gaming platform, I'll go with the PC. Fuck Sony and Nintendo.

Nah. I didn't buy a Wii u to play multiplat games on it. I bought it strictly for Nintendo games knowing damn well the ps4 will obliterate it in terms of capabilities.

I was thinking about selling my Wii u, but I spent so damn much on it that I can't do it. I'm just going to wait it out and roll with the Wii u + ps4 combo for years to come.

The PS4 event was pretty impressive, much better than PS3's revealing. Although there's no price point yet, anyone else feel bad about their Wii U purchase?

*bites tongue*

Do you honestly believe that X is technically even in the same league as the Killzone shown last night?

I mean, it looks like it could be a cool game. There is absolutely nothing impressive about it graphically though.

I really don't think there's a fight going on between Wii U and PS4. Nor do I think anyone in their right mind would want to sell their Wii U for a PS4. If you're doing that, what the hell were you thinking when you bought it in the first place?

I was considering it until I remembered that the Wii U still has some awesome exclusives coming... sometime in the distant future.

Oh.

Well, if I can only have one gaming platform, I'll go with the PC. Fuck Sony and Nintendo.

In a perfect world, everything would be on PC. As it stands though, Wii U wins out of the consoles because Nintendo have the best first party. It will make a nice companion to the PC.

I don't understand. If anything, the PS4 was the least impressive generational leap in the entire history of consoles. This is more or less what we expected, but I honestly can't imagine anyone expecting less than this.

Not to say the console is not solid and has a lot of neat ideas (always-on stream recording, GAIKAI, Vita offscreen play), but if anything, the Wii U is looking much less weak to me now. Which is good, as the Wii U has a lot of games in its future that I want, and I'll eventually have to get one.

For now, I can live without either of them for many years. Looking forward to reduce the immense backlog.

Why is that PS3 and 360 graphics are somehow obsolete in the context of Wii U discussion, but most posters are all "OMGAMAZING!" when something like God of War or The Last of Us is shown, knowing full well the Wii U is just as (if not more) capable? Double standards!

Gamestop is giving $120 + $50 for a 32GB Wii U. I'll go $220 shipped as long as everything is like new. Hit me up with a PM.

(I'll also give $100 shipped for a Vita, Gamestop gives $55).

Call me Good Guy Greg.

I will not be trading my Wii U in for the PS4. I will be buying a PS4 day one but the ~$70 I would get in the trade in is not worth it. I have no clue whether I will keep the Wii U but that has everything to do with a lack of software that really interests me. For now it is fun on occasion.

Decided to cut my losses and sell mine. Nintendo has always been a lemon in NZ and it's double-fucked now. I can't be assed importing and jumping through hoops just to play the trinity.

I raise you the new Killzone gif!

ibkLh2II7UZlqe.gif

I'll play anything other than the boring gameplay of Killzone. X looks a million times more interesting.

Why on earth would i do such a thing? Cause the PS4 is more powerful? I don't give a crap if it is. Two things that will never ever get to do this.

1) Can't play Nintendo first party games on PS4

2) Nintendo's 3rd party support will have games that the PS4 will never get.

Nope. Keeping the wii u.
Since the shown stuff was kind of disappointing, im going to stay with microsoft and nintendo.

Will buy the ps4 if gt6 is going to be any good.

because tLoU looks like it marries story, interaction with characters, a world, and an artstyle/aesthetic together incredibly well?

Why do people believe that Nintendo games being in HD make them inherently better? (Hint, this last question was stupid).

Look at the Dolphin thread and the complaining during the last 5+ years

My Wii U is going to be sitting right next to my PS4.
