Told you guys Mayflash were making one.

And yes, this works just like the official one. Buy away.

Yeah as soon as the official one was announced I was sure Mayflash was going to make a clone. It's just slightly modified USB HID. I can't believe anyone payed above retail for that thing.

Yeah. I got confirmation they were doing one anyhow.

I'd rather use my DS4. The gamecube's c-stick is essentially the right analog of a DS4, and the DS4 has two extra buttons (R2/L2) to boot. No need for this, I think. Plus I find the DS4 to be more comfortable.

Uh...can you use your dualshock with Smash Bros Wii U? Of course not.

Theres the main selling point for most people, not Nintendont.

I'm at work and can't check out the link in the OP. I bought a Mayflash USB GameCube controller adapter for PC six months ago. Is that compatible with the Wii U?

At this point I'd say we could call Mayflash a 3rd party company instead of an "off brand". They make some pretty solid stuff. Semantics, I know.....

Unless that's coming from old adapters, I remember seeing in the native WiiU Gamecube Adapter for Dolphin support update thread that the Mayflash models are very close to the actual Gamecube adapter, so yes even if it is just that and not identical they seem to be really good.

I'm trying to make an account on Play-Asia but it says "This field has not the required format" every time I try to add my shipping address. Hm.

While I can't speak for this specific adapter, my experience with Mayflash stuff is all-around good. I'd guess this will be fine too, but I have an official adapter so no need for this one.

I guess I was fortunate enough to get a 1st party one. I'm glad 3rd party ones are coming to fill the very real demand for them.

Since it's more expensive with shipping than the official one, no. I'll just wait for the official one to restock.

If it were < $20, yeah, I'd get it.

All those people who paid way above retail for their adapters must be in so much pain right now.
Eh. You'd be surprised at how much people will pay for official peripherals because they don't trust third party products whatsoever.

To each their own though, I suppose.

Ordered one! Fuck you, ebay scalpers, glad I held out.

(Keeping my french amazon order though)

What are the chances of Steam compatibility with this game ?

Can it work like a generic pc ontroller or only with dolphin ?

Well this is news because people want it to play Smash WiiU, it's the sole reason the original/official (the one sold out everywhere) exists.

I want to play Smash, Nintendon't and maybe some steam games

If it is like other Mayflash adapters, it will work with PC by making it a generic controller device. You should be able to use it with any steam games that will allow for generic controllers or you'll need an xinput wrapper.

Yeah, I agree a bit. Maybe "unofficial" would go better. Hori and Mayflash make really high quality stuff.

Also I can see myself getting one for my GC emulation. Xbox 360 controller works, but doesn't feel authentic.

Mayflash's work is nowhere near HORI. Their classic controller pro to USB converter has drivers that give my PC consistent bluescreens. You can not use their drivers but it's still really shoddy.

HORI's stuff is first-party quality.

I have the exact same problem with the classic controller to USB adapter. It causes blue screens randomly and will also cause my system to intermittently hang if it is plugged in when I reboot my computer.

That's really not fair. It is the nature of PC. When I install any Norton, my pc bluescreens with 1 min of booting up.

Installing software or hardware could bluescreen any computer. The question is, is it widespread? It doesnt seem so so it might be just a quirk with your pc. I bet if you reinstall your os with nothing installed it will probably work fine.

I've seen hundreds of Norton installs but they've never blue screened unless the PC has a serious problem unrelated to it. That's not normal and may signify a possible hardware defect or you have some kind of seriously conflicting software like a virus.

But only for Norton? I never had a blue screen before. i even was using Norton for a while but then one day bluescreen all the time. I have to go safe mode then uninstall it. I have used other internet security programs and never had that issue.

I like that it has official drivers for Windows. I may buy one of these just for my PC. The GameCube controller is one of the most comfortable I've used.

(I don't like the idea of using those unsigned homebrew drivers for the official Nintendo GameCube adapter ... I've already gone through one copy of Windows becoming "invalidated" because I used a device with unsigned drivers. It was a damn Kensington bluetooth dongle bought from Best Buy.)

Yes, it's widespread. This is a known issue with Mayflash, and there are many forum threads on many sites detailing issues with it. It's not just one guy's PC.

Additionally, I would note that any Mayflash Gamepad to PC adapters I've used (I have a Saturn one and had a SNES one) have nasty lag. It's not enough to RUIN a game per se, but it's noticeable to the point of being obnoxious.

I was getting bluescreens once every other day and sometimes the restart would hang using the controller to play SNES emulators. I removed the drivers, stopped using the adapter, and started using my PS3 controller. I stopped having issues immediately.

Since then, I reformatted my computer. A few months later, I used a different adapter (I got my girlfriend the same mayflash adapter so she could use it to play SNES games while on a long flight) and I got the same issues. She didn't have those issues on her Mac, so I assume it has something to do with the drivers for PC.

Also, a cursory google search shows others having the same issue. Maybe it isn't true 100% of the time, but it seems to be true enough that there is mention of it outside of this thread/neogaf.

Could someone who buys one post a review up on gaf somewhere? I bought four of mayflash's GameCube-to-Wii remote adapters awhile back and had a few issues: mainly that they were super finicky, didn't read almost any third-party controllers, and the plug for the gc controller was hella loose and unreliable. But when they worked they were lag-free and great!

That said, GameCube to usb seems way more straightforward and I'm totally down to buy one of these, since id really like a second adapter.

This is more or less a clone of the official one. No lag.

How do you know this? (The "no lag" part)

Also... has there been confirmation from Nintendo that there will never be a restock of the official adapters? I'm not even sure if this is the right question to ask... Just because you don't "confirm the no" doesn't mean "yes."

2-4 weeks for delivery?

Is that real?

I was about to checkout, but the absolute earliest I could get it was February 13th?
