Anyone going to import Dragon Quest Builders?

So I just realized this actually comes out in a little less then a mounth (January 28th) in Japan. There is still not news about a possible western release yet but I know that many Gaffers are keen to import games when it makes sense.

I'm was just curious if anyone is going to pick it up, or was excited for it in general as even as someone with sadly little experience with DQ its something that I'm really interested in and I think my daughter will really enjoy it as well since in many ways it looks like a far better version of Minecraft.

I'm really hoping SE will put out a demo on the JP PSN so I can at least let me daughter try it and see what she thinks. I also think it's a little bit weird that SE has still not confirmed or denied any existence of multiplayer/co-op in this but I guess we will know soon enough.

I'm really on the fence about importing it.
I guess I'll clear some stuff in my huge backlog and if by then there's no announcement, I'll import it.

I reckon the limited edition Vita isn't available anymore? That could have pushed me to import day one.
 
Yepp, bought the limited edition PSV on Nipon-yasan. It costs ¥2000 more than AmiAmi and takes a few days more to come but since I'm in EU I don't need to pay any import fees through them. Ever :)

I thought about it, but with DQ7 and 8 suddenly confirmed for the West, I'm willing to wait and see if they announce a localization for this one too.
 
I want this so bad, but I've never imported a game before. I think there's still a glimmer of hope for a localization, considering we got Heroes out of all else.
 
I'm buying it digital day one on vita, which is strange since I not actually a fan of Minecraft. I do hope I end up enjoying it.
 
I'm interested, but I don't need to play it right away, I'll wait, if an english version isn't announced in the next 4ish months, I'll import a copy to play.
 
Doesn't seem like my kind of thing, so I will eventually buy the localization for series support and completionism's sake

I want to wait for the localization to support the series in the West. There's plenty coming out over the next 9-12 months, and a deep backlog, to keep me busy.

But, if a localization isn't announced within a year of release, or by the time DQ11 gets announced for the West, then I'll buy it digitally.
 
I'm thinking about getting the LE Vita bundle.

But if Square decides to skip Vita version in west, I'll definitely import.

Will need to talk to the mods about putting it up earlier, as closer to the day of release will be busy with a bunch of stuff so wont have time to put it up on the usual schedule. Seeing how #FE sharp got the OK for like a week out ahead should not be an issue with getting clearance from someone.
 
This is the perfect game for me, as I'm a big fan of Dragon Quest, and also love Minecraft... but I'm afraid to be lost in the japanese text. The UI and gameplay should be simple enough to be able to play, but I guess the missions and objectives won't be as easy to understand.

Really hope this is localized.
 
I'm hoping for a localization. This is one of my most anticipated games of 2016. No joke, it's probably in the top 3. I love DQ and I love Minecraft. I mean... Square, please!
 
I hope for a western release. I don't think my game experience will be good, if I don't understand a single word. But I want it.
 
I'm not going to import it. I am going to walk into a store on the 28th and buy it, though.
 
Never once did I think "this would be better with Toriyama characters" when playing Minecraft. So no, not really.
 
For people who is still on the fence, on the 22nd they will release the demo for ps4 n vita no ps3 demo. Try it before importing it

That's awesome news, I wonder how long they will keep the demo up since I have noticed that for some reason Demos are often taken off of the Japanese PSN a lot. I'm going to DL the demo asap and check it out with my daughter, really curious if its just something about minecraft that specifically attracts her or just that style of game ( though she loves lego also).
 
Oh, Mincecraft is super popular? We need something similar!

Here it is! Better in every way. What did you say? Multiplayer? Why would you want that?
 
I really love how cute everything looks. I know the earlier installments of the series had it's fair share of cuteness, but this game is oozing with it.
 
Really want to, but I shouldn't considering the number of games I've been buying and not finishing. Will probably pick it up in the future used or something.

To be honest I'm not sure, I just grabbed a couple of shots from google and posted them in the OP. The demo is out on thursday on the JPN PSN so i'll post some screenshots from that as long as SE doesn't block my ability to do so.
 
Looks awesome, I have to wait until I get home to check it out but I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the demo.

Have you noticed anything that may indicate any form of Co-op or multiplayer?

I can't read Japanese (6mth crash course at uni isn't enough) so no I can't make out anything that may have suggested MP. But didn't the devs already deny that though? or am I thinking the first Heroes game...?

As far as I know they have not said anything regarding MP/Co-Op for this, they did deny it for the first Heroes game though which they apparently are adding in the sequel. It seems like a really short sighted thing if this doesn't have it because this type of game gets built on the concept of building things with friends and family, but I guess I wont be surprised if that ends up being the case.
