Anyone heard anything about UT3 PS3 reviews?

Make them crank out Gears of War 2 faster. But yeah, I honestly do feel bad for them. The PS3 will probably outsell the PC at this point.
I wouldn't worry about Epic. They have a full-time job counting all the UE3 royalty checks as they come in. Epic has to be one of the 2-3 richest developers in the business right now.

I would worry about Midway though. They've put out nothing but flops for the past two years. You have to wonder how much longer Poppa Redstone is going to keep propping them up.

As long as they pony up a Hydro Thunder remake, I continue not to care. Grrr Midway do it do it do it!

There are no reviews on IGN for this game or the PS3 version of Orange Box.

Orange Box review goes up at midnight. They said they're taking their time with the UT3 PS3 review so they can put some time into online and mod features.

Midway is just unlucky. It's not like they put out shit. You'd think Stranglehold + UT3 would be safe bets, but hey, not if you don't advertise them I guess.

game should have at least supported 2-player splitscreen campaign.

Campaign? Seriously..
Plus Gears of War coop online and off was basically the best thing ever.
UT3 2 player would suck.

It's no big deal really, all my purchases are single player first, multiplayer later. Doesn't mean I won't enjoy the online modes, but the single player is where I'll spend the bulk of my time in the early days.

Except SOCOM... by god SOCOM single player has always sucked donkey balls.

Singleplayer is just bot matches. And some cutscenes glued in between. Just letting you know.
I think MP is the real draw here....

Well to be honest, Its reminding me of Quake 4 allot. Where 3 and 2 even...had more people on

For those who are wonderin...Checking the stats. Behind both 2k4 and 99. Even if that is the case. Its not bolding well at all for the game. Something is a miss here, whatever it maybe...just too much power needed for computers, gameplay, no marketing. Its not looking good when they aren't even cracking 1000 people now
It's too bad that keeps happening.

Q3 and the old UTs will have to truely die before a new game with reasonable hardware reqs sells maybe

That's the shock rifle, I think. The lightning gun was a sniper rifle in UT2k4, it's not in UT3, because there really wasn't a point for it.

How DARE you.

There was nothing more satisfying then nailing a headshot on another player who thought he was all high-and-mighty trying to kill me with flak from up close with lightning, while they shook violently from the electricity and blood came flying out of their neck.

I hope we get some Jailbreak! (I think that was what the mod was called) and Deathball mod action SOON!

The advertising is there. Lots of folks in this thread have said they either saw it on ESPN. I saw it on SpikeTV tonight during primetime hours. So the ad is there. I'll be enjoying the game later on Tuesday afternoon.

Yes the advertisement is around...but it almost seems like the game just appeared from thin air (to average people). I know it was shown in E3..but I think it needed more internet drama surrounding it....more outrageous claims to shake the internet....maybe a sexy producer to build hype... Or is it they are just comfortable selling only to the hardcore UT followers? Don't want new people?

"Someone needs to port the train level from UT2K4 Assault."

With the way Warfare works, I'd imagine it's not wholly impossible to redo Convoy. I'm not entirely sure if it's possible to make a node uncappable, though.

There is definitely a lack of hype and sales on the PC side though, which is pretty unfortunate for the franchise. It'll sell well on PS3, it's not like there are any other good games coming out this month.

Thus, the...ah, sigh. The greatest undoing of UT3, IMO.

Remaking the Assault gametype shouldn't be difficult either, though. Given how popular it was, It'll definitely pop up eventually.

Why? It won't be long until someone ports Assault Mode itself to UT3.

Essentially, my issue. I have every confidence in the mod community, but, well, shouldn't it have simply been there?

I'm not saying it shouldn't have. Assault was extremely fun, and I don't quite agree with its removal simply because its concepts are incorporated into Warfare mode. It's stuff like that, as well as the removal of modes like Invasion and Bombing Run, where the game truly does feel like a step backwards.

However, that doesn't mean the game is forever doomed to suckiness as yes, someone will most likely come around and port previous game modes to UT3.

So does this have online splitscreen or not? because I'm deciding on this or CoD4 and having played the latter I couldn't believe it didn't have support for it. However, I know from experience that CoD4 is damn fun to play online, so that has given the game a slight edge in my mind. If UE3 has multiplayer online, though, I'm definitely going to pick it up.
