There are definitely work/professional situations where I can understand, but it does seem kind of odd to me at times how touchy dying your hair can be for people in the workplace. No, but I love people with it. Wish it was more acceptable in professional work settings.
Learning through Beloved's experience about how different people have been reacting to it and how some are truly shocked or blown away by her bravery has been truly surprising to hear about.
I mean in my experience here in Australia, it's not really that shocking to see someone with unnatural hair colors, uncommon and a bit of a novelty of course, but not something you see and think "I can't believe they went through with that", especially if it's just someone you see walking down the street.
I mean when I was like 10 I went to school with a kid who had basically rainbow hair and not one fuck was given by anyone really.
Funny coincidence actually, that exact opinion causes me to treat people like they're not adults. If I see hair colours like that I will instantly treat you like you're not an adult.
Strange how that happens.
