Anyone play COD just for the single player campaigns?

Yup. That would be me...
Love them.
Right now, i'm waiting for delivery of my CoD:AW Day Zero Edition for PS4:P
Bought it just for the single player campaign...

Not me personally, no. I couldn't imagine feeling I got a good value out of just the campaign. I have however gotten far more than a 60 dollar value in mp.

Yeah, for sure. I haven't bought 'em at launch since Modern Warfare, though. Always on sale. I haven't played any of them since Black Ops, though.

Yeah I do. The trilogies with World at War, black ops 1 and 2 were great. Even though it was obviously almost as ridiculous as the Modern Warfare ones, I really enjoyed it.

I got sad in BO2 cause I got
Mason
killed which meant
Reznov
also died. >.<

Makrov as a villain was good but sucked he never appeared more often. BO 1 and 2 villains were good.

Lastly, the zombies story was enjoyable. I loved running with the original four and I think nothing could top that at all.

No. The plot lines are childish, the characters are sterile, the gameplay is unexciting and the lack of player agency is frustrating. I'd rather just watch it on YouTube than pay £40 to play it myself.

Too my surprise Black Ops campaign was really fun. I didnt even care for COD4 or MW2 as all I felt was second tier Black Hawk Down imitations.

But I really enjoyed Black Ops. The way it sprang in time, the vietnam scenes and the russian prisons as well as the Nazi flashbacks. it was really really fun.

On the other hand Modern Warfare 3 was perhaps the most boring single player shooter I have ever played. I had more fun with Area 51 or Duke Nukem Forever:/

I would, but I've never thought the SP campaign seems worth $60. These are basically dumb, digestible action movies in game form. I'd play one, but I don't value it a whole lot. And by the time the price drops to an agreeable level, it's about time to start waiting for the new one to drop in price instead. Been this way since Modern Warfare.

If everyone else stopped buying these games, Activision would get +1 sale at $15.

I'm not even buying this for the SP, I'm buying it for Spacey alone haha!

I'll definitely check out all of the modes inc. MP though :)

I only play the SP-campaigns and the co-op modes like Zombies / MW3 strike mode / Exosuit survival with friends.

CoD SP is like a yearly ritual for me now. I love it.

I used to sink my teeth into the multiplayer section of COD.
Haven't done so in a while (MW3 was the last one I believe). I just couldn't stand playing it any longer, it almost felt like a chore, also the community is one of the worst I have ever played with.

There's always someone I know that gets the latest release, I'll just borrow the game and finish the campaign that way.

After modern warfare 2, only the single player campaigns interested me and has been my guilty pleasure for years. Never even bothered with the MP modes since mw2 (I adored the mp on Modern warfare). Ever since battlefield Bad Company, I've been a battlefield convert.

Advanced Warfare, however, might be the first cod mp I've played in many years...

I have always played the SP campaigns of COD since MW1, tried a bit of its MP with MW3 but didn't fit well in...

IMO COD delivers a great cinematic fps campaign...

Have always loved the action-packed endings of the MW series... Ghosts fell short in many aspects and I purchased AW with the same thing in mind although this time I'll be playing MP with friends.

Me. I never touched MP. Single Player story mode is what kept me interested in MW2 and BO2. But Ghosts was below-average for me, story was too try-hard and really lame villain and plot.

I buy the COD's with huge wars for single player. So MW 2,3 are good examples. BO2 not to much, but the MP was the best one so far for that one.

I did

stopped after Black ops 1

I find the cod multiplayer to be a very dull experience

especially after I started playing battlefield

That's be me, but I haven't bought a CoD game in a while. I was thinking about picking up Advanced Warfare and was Googling about it a few hours ago. Then I found out that it didn't have co-op campaign and its only co-op feature was a hoard mode on the normal multiplayer maps.

COD 4 is still the gold standard for me. But MW2 + 3 were complete nonsense. It barely made any sense.

Treyarch has made the best overall COD games. I loved the Black Ops series. I wanted to love World at War too, but some of the most frustrating video game experiences I've ever had were getting through those levels on Veteran. (Infinite grenades!!!)

That would be me. I hate COD Multiplayer. See each other and a second later one guy is dead. I only have Blops2 and I only played Multiplayer for 8h before giving up. I prefer the 2min mano-a-mano battle of Dark Souls on the top of a burning mountain with choirs of nakes angels singing.

But ... since the Singleplayer is only 5-6h long I will watch the Let's play. Too expensive for that length and no Sales...

Nope. A 5 hour, immensely linear campaign isn't worth it.

It goes to show how Treyarch are the premier CoD developer. If you're going to commit to a short, cinematic campaign at least allow me to branch the narrative a little bit. "You let this character die", or "You didn't notice this thing that's important later", or "You chose the perfect loadout for this mission".

Yes, but I stopped as each game's campaign got worse. They're all cranked up to 11 at all times while you jump from one explosion fest to the next. I look at them as nothing more than marketing material now - video and screenshot generation engines to show in commercials and magazines and websites.

If the series ever goes back to its single player campaign roots I'll be there.

I loved MW1 and MW2 campaigns. I preferred the IW COD games prior to MW3 just because of the story. MW1 was intense and gave me, a gamer who hasn't served, a real respect for what soldiers go through.

MW2 was my globe-trotting G.I. Joe: The Movie, the game. That and the still unmatched Spec-Ops mode was why I enjoyed those games. I didn't honestly enjoy the competitive MP stuff until Blops 2 on the Wii U.

Could barely play Ghosts. Thought it was awful. I don't like any of the Treyarch campaigns. M
We have very similar tastes when it comes to COD. That's pretty much my history too, except for Blops 2/Wii stuff.

Me. I don't like the MP but the SP is fun. The presentation makes it like a popcorn action flick.

I stopped midway into MW3 though. I guess I should continue.

I used to.

Then they removed respawning enemies and made the game infinitely easier. Going through CoD2 and WaW on veteran was so frustrating, yet so rewarding.

I did like the first modern warfare though, but for different reasons.

I strated playing COD4's campaign because it felt kinda fresh in the FPS ethos but I got bored of it pretty fast. 4ever spawning enemies were just no fun. After that haven't played COD SP campgains. Apparently W@W had good campgain but didn't bother with it either.

I used to right from CoD 1 to 3 and WaW it was all about the SP. I played MW1 loads online, MW2 a little bit and nothing after that. I bought Black Ops but never played it online, couldn't manage to finish the SP. I never played another CoD after that..

Battlefield is where the MP fun is for me.

Me, I have always played COD for their single player campaign just to have fun and toss them away...

Not ashamed to say the only reason I got MW3 was to see where the story went. BO2 was kinda the same way but the multiplayer ended up being decent, too.

Stems from having great memories of THE original set pieces from WW2 shooters, like storming Omaha in MoH and the Russian campaign in vCoD.

MW3 MP died pretty fast on PC. Ghosts isn't even worth mentioning.

And no, I didn't get Ghosts at all, single player campaign for that one be damned.

yup.

it's a 60$ 6hrs interactive movie but only COD gets that right (and Asura's Wrath, but I'm never gonna get sequels to that...).

Yeah, and I actually enjoy it. CoD campaigns are relaxing to play, just a few hours of nice and simple entertainment. They do a great job with the scripted setpiece thing, far better than any of the wannabees, like EA's attempts (BF, MoH). Haven't purchased a CoD game myself since the original Black Ops (not paying a full price for them, and you have to wait years for a solid discount) but I played all the newer games at my friends' houses, and I'll eventually do the same for AW, most likely. For example, I was surprised how good Black Ops 2 was!

Haven't played CoD online since MW2, though my favorite will always be CoD 4.

I gamefly them all then return them in 2 days as the campaign is only 5-6 hours. I'm a Halo MP guy, can't stand the MP of the CoD's.

Is there another reason to play this game for ? Obviously I only play the campaign when I can get the game for like ~10$, so about 5 years after release xD.

Haven't played any of them online apart from a couple of weeks of CoD4. Black Ops was the last I played at all. We've had Ghosts here for almost a year untouched. I'd rather play nothing than another fps.

I generally enjoy the campaigns, though I hated MW3 and parts of Ghosts.
I can say that I have played a lot more campaign CoD than multiplayer CoD.

Nope, I actually did only play multiplayer when I still played CoD regularly (~2009), although I finished all MW campaigns when MW3 came out.
Didn't seem special to me, I guess I like MP better.

I've played all single player campaigns of all PC MoH/Cod at least twice, starting with Medal Of Honor Allied Assault.
Last time I touched the MP was Modern Warfare 2
