the game is out in europa since december first but i just cannot find any reviews about it. and youtube does only have one gameplay video about it :(

did anyone buy the game? if yes, is it any good?

My bad, Konami kept changing their mind about the release date. Awesome i'm buying it today then if I can find it in France :) I played the 2011 version more than 45 hours, and it had no online.

please keep me updated, sir! really interested in some opinions about this game.

yeah, i'm curious. 2011 on 3DS is okay but it felt WAY too easy and a bit lightweight.

Some early impressions from pesfan.com:

The Good

+ Menus look far better, apart from the main menu which is just the same as PS3/360 versions everything else will look very familiar to PES6, if not identical.
+ Plenty of game modes to keep you busy (Match, Online, Champions League, Copa Santander, Master League, Become a Legend, World Player, League, Cup & Training).
+ Online so far seems lag free (3 Games Played so far).
+ PES-Shop is back (Unlock Feints, boots, double speed match, ball effects, stadiums, teams, players and ability to edit master league structure).
+ Gameplay is good, feels like PES6 (Takes some getting used to thumbpad as d-pad is useless).
+ You can now save goal replays.
+ Edit mode is bigger and better, can now edit kits, logos & badges. Plus the usual stuff.

The Bad
- Team rosters are yet again out of date, teams are just like PS3/360 versions before the online roster update.
- Online, the home team picks the game camera for the match and there is nothing you can do about it.
- The text in the game to me seems way too small.

that sounds pretty great to be honest

.

The 3DS review situation is a joke - really, after havin to wait weeks after release to get some Spyro 3DS videos and reviews it's the same with this.

I want to know how advanced does the game feel technically. Are physics and animation closer to the current installments? Or is this a PS2 game sprinkled with modes, stats, and rosters of today?

Well last years one was the best handheld version of the game, add online for those who like do that and I guess it must be pretty awesome... I'm skipping because I've got too much stuff to play and the old one will do me fine.

I agree, but I still loved it and I think its my most played game on the 3ds.

Checking amazon and gamestops website, Gamestop says it not out here in states till2/21/2012 but amazon says its out but will take 3-4 weeks to ship.

Is there any way for the 3DS to support Option Files?

I thought PES 2011 3DS was brilliant, but the lack of online and default squads/teams/kits was a little too jarring for me.

If this one supports option files I'll buy it and it'll be my game of forever.

great to see some responses here. my 3DS should arrive in the next couple of days. really thinking about picking it up....

I would love some comparision with the Wii version - i already own PES 12 on Wii and its awesome.

Hell yeah its. Ive been switching between playing PES Wii and Fifa 12 (its my first fifa game ive ever owned) on the 360. I think the only Pes Wii game im missing is 11 ( I had to sell in because i was in need of some quick cash). Ive 08, 09, 10, and 12. I know theres some exclusive Wii Winning Eleven/PES games in Japan I wouldnt mind getting for collecting purposes.

How are the PES games on the PS2 and 360. Also how is Fifa on the Wii and 3ds?

I would love a Demo.

Oh yes, i totally forgot about that . with the update coming in 2 days i hope publishers are preparing some Demo versions for the eShop.

Oh cool, it has online this time? Now I'm considering buying it.

Ehhhhhhh, that's annoying >:(

After being supremely disappointed in FIFA 12 for the 3DS (total, 100% garbage) and having PES 2011 be my top-played 3DS game according to my activity log, this seems pretty awesome. However, I can't find any info regarding a domestic release :(

Is FIFA 2012 worse than PES 2011? Because I thought PES 2011 was pretty shocking... like, shockingly bad.

This does look better.

Is there a way to use different Option Files than your own?
Not having real kits (not going to invest that much time doing them myself) is the only thing that might hold me back.

Yep, same.

Just spotted this in my local GAME store. Ready to buy it but the option file issue is holding me back right now.

If you can get the proper kits and sponsors etc, I'll go right back out into the wind, rain and freezing cold and buy it.

I can't believe that 1. it's not out in France, 2. it's out for days everywhere else, and noone seems to have it already!

On PES in general, did people ever really accept the motion controls they invented for that series? I heard they were actually really good. I wonder if Konami ported those controls over to PlayStation Move for the PS3 versions of PES.

I'd like a detailed run through of the edit mode, if you're willing to give one mate. Mainly how comprehensive the kit and logo editor is, and if there's any visible option to import files from elsewhere (which I guess would be required for Option Files)

That's still the only thing stopping me from buying this. Rest of the game looks great.

Could you please PM me the seller? I'm down for that price, damn

it was just a normal auction. no specific seller :(

i was never big into the edit mode but i can look for you! no problem

If it uses the PS2 engine, then it's going to be just fine.

this is what i hope man, i was pretty dissppointed with the latest ps3 entry and i hope this one will be better again.

You're not big on Edit mode means you just import others work, not that you leave it as is, RIGHT? I mean, Bundesliga, helloooooo :P

Also yes, HD PES12 stinks, PES11 is where it's at ;)

i actually never use any EDIT files. as long as ive got my Bayern, i'm all good :D

btw, no shit: played some PES 2008 with my buddy yesterday and i had more fun with it than with PES 2012 haha.

YES!
Bla, let us know how's the framerate (wide), if it changes between 3D and 2D, if the gfx are a bit improved from the previous year, also which modes is missing from the "big" versions.

Later, if you got the time, please tell us if you see any way to import/export option files!

Edit: oh, kramer and Thedrowningman too! Could you expand on the framerate issue? Is there any camera where the fps is 60? I only use wide camera in my PES games, damn :/

first of all, it does not look like there is an option to import stuff from somewhere else!

secondly, if a team does not have the real kit u can change the shirt by urself.

but u can also do emblems and logos

AgkL-NLCMAA23g_.jpg

the rest consists of the usual suspects... edit team, edit player change names yadda yadda

btw, there are no slots for team u can make completely from zero. like in the console games. u can only edit things on the already available teams.

- the framerate on wide is good most of the time. i experienced a few slowdowns but they didnt do much influence on the game

- it seems like all the modes from the next generation versions made it on the 3DS. i actually think there is one the console games didnt had. it's basically be a pro, but u can play this mode with the original football players. rooney, messi etc.

random thoughts:

- it reminds me a lot of pro evolution soccer 5 and 6 and maybe this is also the reason why i like it so much. if u know the controls from these games u won't have many problems.

- you have to get used to the thumbpad. but its alright. after some time it will work out. took me only one game. furthermore the 3DS is no dual shock. sometimes holding and controlling it felt a little awkward. especially when u rely a lot on the shoulder buttons. but its nothing dramatic.

- 3D looks nice but doesnt do much for the game. sometimes i turn it on, sometimes i turn it off.

- the graphics are fantastic. besides some little slowdowns everything looks superclean and sharp. im really surprised about this. especially when i think about the old pes games on the DS.

- it features all stadiums! unlike many other portable pro evolution soccer games which only featured one arena it does actually have all of them. i was surprised. full (german) commentary support as well

- yeah, the text is a little too small.

- play one online game so far. and i'm not kidding. i think that was the first lag-free pro evolution soccer online experience i've ever had! omg!
