Anyone still going to get Ninety Nine Nights?

I liked the demo. It seems like a nice popcorn gameplay experience - straightforward, not very complicated, some nice eye candy and fun enough. I still plan on getting it. I would be kinda surprised by all the dislike for it here... if it wasn't NeoGAF of course. ;)

Not every game in my library has to be a "tripel AAA omfg roxors joo!" title.

I liked the demo, sort of plays like a midpoint between fantasy Devil Kings (which I really dig for its localized lunacy) and relatively down-to-earth DW.

But while I liked it, not enticed enough to part with anything more than $30 for it.

I think that's spot on. I'd be tempted to buy this when it gets cheaper because, much like the overrated DW games, they aren't a genre worth buying at full price.

I'll buy it when it hits 20, maybe 30 dollars. I'm all about the multiple characters, mostly. But frankly, I found it kind of lame.

Surprisingly, I really liked the demo, but I've never played Dynasty Warriors or anything like this before. I guess it kind of reminds me of Diablo 2 / Phantasy Star Online, but with a lot less depth in the RPG elements and more fun in the trying-to-take-out-as-many-guys-as-possible-at-once side of things. Some of the bigger combos were fun.

I'd pick it up, but it's not out until *DECEMBER 13* in NZ, and basically by that time I'm going to be drowning in Wii. I almost got the Asian version, but Play-Asia suggests it's not region free. :(

Just completed the demo too, and I really liked it. The gameplay is intense, and although I usually don't like button mashing games, there was enough variety with the different combos and magic to keep me going. The pacing seems nice, and difficulty seemed a-okay. FMVs were beautiful too, although shame on the english voice acting ("la-landslide!").

So, what's the hate for? I haven't really played much DW, is this inferior to that or what?

Played the demo for the first time last night, brief impressions.

Amazingly clean cut-scene graphics, sooooo purty and shiny but a little.. sterile? Seems lacking in grit or something like that.

Awesome world graphics, especially considering the number of enemies onscreen. Massive battles like this game provides along with the horse and troll-army stages in Kameo really show off the power of the 360.

Not a bad combat engine, I got a 400-something kill combo which was neat but I could barely keep track of my guy during it. I'm afraid the amount of friendly and enemy troops are gonna defeat and overthrow the camera system in this game and what could be epic tactical battles quickly descend into button-mashing and trying to figure out where my guy is.

Mmmm..... nope, I don't think I'll be buying it.

Bad camera - inability to tell friendly troops from enemies - poor collision detection - game forces you to start from the beginning of the level if you fail a mission.

Probably not. It'll be a rental for me.

cancelling my pre-order today when I go to pick up dead rising... Money better spent on Madden..

Just like everyone else, I might look again when it is 30 bucks, but probably will hold off my massive battle hunger with the supremely awesome LOTR: BFME2.

I don't understand the N3 demo hate.

It had it's problems, but it was a ****LOAD more fun than Dead Rising... which was BORING as all hell.

I'm getting n3.

I'm not well versed in this type of game genre, but is there more to this game than just mashing buttons? I tried out the demo this morning, and while the graphics are rather beautiful and the framerate is rock steady, what else is there to it than just running into a bunch of enemies and pressing buttons? Am I just not playing it right?
