Anyone still proudly rocking 360 controllers for PC?

I was using an Xbox 360 wireless controller with dongle since 2008, but recently switched to the XBONE controller using a standard USB bluetooth dongle. Both works perfectly, except the XBONE controller has a superior d-pad.

Yep

Cant see myself changing until it gives up.

Absolutely. Still slightly prefer the feel of the 360 controller overall vs the *standard* Xbone controller. Tho the Xbone Elite (and other updated Xbone controllers like the Lunar White and Dawn Shadows we have) finally (slightly) bested the 360 controller for Xbone use, we still rock (4) 360 controllers on Steam games, most notably for multi-PC / local Dungeon Defenders marathons.

The 360 controller shape just feels comfortable, like a favorite old pair of jeans or slippers. And it feels slightly better in terms of build quality to the OG Xbone controller. The The latest iterations of the Xbone controllers feel great too and have much improved D-pads, shoulder buttons, and improved build quality (not as creaky/twisty as my launch Xbone controllers were).

360 controllers will always have a place in our household, particularly on PC/Steam (I also have one Steam controller, but I'm still slowly adjusting to it...its constructed of cheap materials and will never in a million years be put to use by anyone but me around here...but I like the concept and the usefulness on some games without built-in controller support).

I was until last week actually. The 360 controller was always one of the easiest to set up controllers on the PC, and I didn't really have many qualms with it. The d-pad sucks, but I don't like using the d-pad anyway, so that wasn't much of a negative for me. I'd been rocking that wired 360 controller for many years now on PC and it was still going strong really. It's just the rubber on the left analogoe stick was wearing down, and the A button was starting to stick a bit.

Consequently I ended up buying a Razer Raiju in their 50% off sale a week or so ago as kind of a replacement which I could also use on PS4 if I wanted to. (Only way I'd have bought it really since its base price is fucking ridiculous).

Will miss the 360 controller a bit though!

It's still the most compatible and thus convenient controller to use on PC so I still use it. Fuck using it for anything that requires regular d-pad use though but then I can often just use my Saturn pad.

I do have the option of using a PS4 pad as well but I prefer to avoid having to switch a controller between two systems I'm using so it's a last resort saved for games that need both d-pad and analog.

Most of the games I use a controller with usually relies on d-pad and the 360 d-pad is terrible.

My Rumblepad 2 that I bought in 2006 still does the job.

I went back to the 360 controller after having a DS4's thumbsticks wear out after six months, and the left trigger of an Xbone breaking, also after six months.

Yeah, the Dpad on the 360 pad's awful, but that thing is built to last.

After the DS4 I can't deal with the 360 dpad anymore, even if most of what I use it for are menus.

If there was a good fix for it I'd still use it though. Big fan of not having to worry about its battery, unlike the DS4.

I would have preferred to get a ps4 controller but damn they are way too expensive for me to justify at the moment. The 360 controller is still great and the instant compatibility is convenient.

Yep. Moved to a Steam Controller and then moved back to the Xbox 360 controller.

Ha ha yep, thing is kinda horrible unless it's for point and click games.

Yeah still rocking a wired 360 controller, sometimes use a wiiremote or classic controller for 2D games but 90% of the time it's the 360.

i've bounced between 360 wireless for pc to launch xbox one controller, the improved bumper model, back to 360 wireless and now on the new white xbox one s controller, which is my favourate so far.

Yup. Still rocking my wired 360 controller after seven years, although the left thumbstick lost a lot of its grip and some rubber in the summer 2015 while I played Dark Souls for the first time. Sweating hands plus the heat and some excessive play sessions did not go down well, but other than that it's still great.

Although I do plan to get a better bluetooth reciever so I can use my DS4's better. Right now they have a shitton of input lag.

My battery pack just died and I don't know if I'm going to get a new one, leave it plugged in forever or buy a new controller.

Wired USB 360 controller from my old XBOX 360 :) It's a great controller and I enjoy playing with it much more than Mouse / Keyboard for nearly every console game out there.

You folks are all crazy.

Get an Xbox One Elite controller. That thing is far and away the best traditional controler out there. I wouldn't be able to play on 360 controllers anymore, they feel janky as hell nowadays to me.

Paying $150 for controller and getting this - that's what i call crazy :D

There are some PC games that freak the fuck out when my XBONE controller is connected, so yes, I still have the 360 pad around, although more for the convenience of not having to connect and disconnect all the time than control preference.

yeah i do. wireless. best controller ever made. fyi i also own an xbox one wireless adapter for pc and a ds4. still prefer the 360 pad.

Yes, and I'm probably going to keep using an Xbox 360 controller. I could move on to an Xbox One controller, but I'm used to the Xbox 360 controller after using it as my primary controller for the past eight years, and I have an unopened one I picked up when the controllers were on sale.

Yep. If it ain't broke, don't spend another $60+ on a controller. D-pad is mushy, sure, but few games use it heavily that I play so it doesn't really matter.

Whaddaya mean, I still use Dualshock 1 with an adapter.

X360 controller works fine, as long as the dpad isn't required to be used as primary input.

Sure. See no reason to upgrade, really. X1 improvements (elite or otherwise) are remarkably unnecessary for anyone who isn't obsessed.
Keep a SNES pad and a Madcatz Fightpad on the side for 2D/arcade stuff so I don't have to put up with the crappy Dpad but apart from that it's mostly 360 pad all the way. Also Wii U Pro controller for twin stick shooters and some other occasional stuff that might benefit from it's design.

yep... ordered a wired 360 controller from amazon just now, actually

xb1 controller is fantastic but the signal craps out every once in awhile for no clear reason. something up with the firmware i assume. i just don't feel confident using it for multiplayer

yep. it's perfect for me and would buy another one if it broke. the XB1 controller is fine but just not as comfortable. not a fan of the steam or PS4 controllers at all.
