Anyone without a screen protector on your phone?

No screen protector, no case, no scratches here. I carry my phone in a separate pants pocket from everything else. I had a screen protector on a Moto Razr phone once, and hated it. Never using one of those again, and cases add too much bulk for me. I'm just careful with my electronics, and that seems to work for me. I would never throw my phone in a bag or pocket with keys though. That's madness.

I've clumsily dropped my phone enough to know that I'm destined to use a case and screen protector. It's saved my life so far.

I have never used a screen protector on a phone and have owned every iPhone sense the 3g. Not a single viable scratch on any of them, and I throw my phone around and keep it in my pocket with keys all the time.

My wife is the exact same way.

I used to have one on my iphone 5S back when I first got it. It eventually fell off on its own cause it was a fairly cheap, shitty one. I've been without one ever since and I honestly don't notice a difference. I don't see any scratches or problems with my screen and, to be honest, I probably won't ever get one again since i'm just so careful with my phone and other devices.

I've never so much as scratched, cracked, or broken a phone screen (knocks on wood) since the iPhone 3G.

However, I work as an engineering inspector and once had my phone knocked from my hand into a 15-20' deep ditch with stone at the bottom. Came out perfectly fine, lol.

That's due to my phone being in a phone case, with a clear protector over tempered glass protector. Haha. Doubled up.

I'm pretty sure my phone could survive a nuclear explosion.

Edit* How do people end up with those spider-webbed phone screens??

I haven't used either a screen protector or case on my HTC One and now my LG V10.

The phones are beautiful and feel great when naked.

I only use something like this:

I've had one of these for the android phone I had ages ago and found them incredibly annoying because of the extra steps required to interact with your phone / return your phone to pocket.
I'm simply using a bumper case and a screen protector these days on my 5S. A dent in one edge of my 4S was the worst I've ever done to any of my phones.

I consider going without a screen protector if I get a phone with 2.5D curvature though, screen protectors on these look awful and the ones that try to account for the curve collect dirt at the corners quickly - judging by the experience my brother had on his 6S and I did on my Apple Watch.

No screen protector on my iPhone 7+. It's scratched but not visible when the screen is on. Doesn't bother me one bit. I'll take scratches and dings over completely ruining the feel of the phone with a case and screen protector.

I still use a 5s and have be ver used a screen protector and stopped using a case months back. My screens never had anything more than a couple micro scratches. But since taking the case off there definetly some scratches on the phone itself...I'm honestly just waiting to drop this thing to justify a new phone

I don't have a screen protector and have no scratches on my screen after 2.5 years... not sure why people find this to be difficult.

I've never put screens on my phone and it's never cracked or gotten any noticable scratches. Just get a case that doesn't let the screen hit the ground if you drop it.

Yeah I do, I also use a case covering; I don't really give a shit on the aesthetic of the mobile fun in terms of every model becoming thinner/sleeker/whatever. For me a mobile device is for texting, calling, and web-browsing when I'm not on my PC.

I go bareback because I know I'll be giving the phone back to Apple once the new model releases. (Apple upgrade program)

I don't use any protection. OnePlus One [64gb sandstone black] is built like a tank. Edges are a bit banged up, but that's fine with me.

Strangely enough I've had this phone for three years. I've dropped it from chest height into gravel, pavement, floors almost a dozen times in total and the screen is still flawless. I guess I just don't see the point of a screen protector.

Yes, currently for the past couple weeks. My tempered glass protector had a crazy crack in it for a while and then there was an air pocket at the top center edge so I finally took it offn. Gonna get a new phone soon tho and I'll just get a protector for the new phone.

I've always had one in my previous phones but I never put one on my current one, Nexus 6. I've had it since launch. Screen only has one or two tiny scratches, barely noticeable. I prefer naked screen, colors and details look much better.

Is there a screen protector solution that doesn't affect the quality of the screen?

I have an outer case, but nothing protecting the screen. I normally have something, but I've gone about 2 years without one, I think I'll be ok for now

Never bothered with a screen protector. Case, yes, protector? Never saw a need. Oddly despite the cases the backs of my phones have taken more dings than the screen ever has.

If you want to protect your screen get a flip cover. Screen protectors are pointless. Your screens glass is far stronger than those things. If its strong enough to scratch your screen it will slice straight through a screen protector and still scratch your screen.

I haven't bothered with them for years and havnt got a scratch on any of my phone's. Just make sure you dont put things like keys in the same pocket.

If you do use a protector then it will prob mean you have to put up with scratches as they mark so easily.

I took mine off since I dropped my phone and had a distracting scratch across the entire screen. I have a case but I'll replace the screen protector in a bit.

I used to not put screen protector to my phones. Paid for that later when I replaced one of my phones with a Sony Xperia. Fell from my hand while doing something, the screen broke.

After that, I use screen protectors.

Nexus 6P here, no screen protector and no case, just a dbrand fake-leather skin on the back only for extra grip and nice aesthetics with the optional Nexus logo imprint.

It's survived a 4 or 5 (~4 feet) standing drops without a scratch or crack, but I dropped it onto carpeted/grass surfaces all those times -- not concrete or tile.

I honestly don't know why so many people find it so difficult to not scratch their phone. I've had my iPhone 6 since launch and had my iPhone 4 before that for four years, both with naked screens and nary a scratch. I'm careful not to put them in a pocket with keys or put them screen-down on a rough surface but I certainly don't baby them.

Even if I did drop it, I'm insured and a screen replacement isn't ruinously expensive.

I never, ever use screen protectors (or cases). They're disgusting and uncomfortable.

My screens have always been fine.

Never, and I've never had a problem with scratches. Smartphone glass is extremely hard. Just don't put it in a pocket/bag with anything else.

If you're worried about screen scratches due to everyday use, have a dedicated pocket for the phone, and you don't need a screen protector. I don't have a single tiny scratch on any of my phones' screens, and I've never used screen protector.

If you're worried about dropping the phone, screen's most likely going to crack, protector or not. A huge rubbery case is about the only thing that helps there.

I've left the plastic cover (i know its not a screen protector) that it came with and haven't had any issues.

What makes you think a thin piece of weak plastic would have stopped it breaking?

Nexus 6P since launch - Slim Spigen case and no glass protection. I've got a little slight scratch but it only goes through the oleophobic coating. Annoying, but doesn't affect anything. I doubt I'll ever get a screen protector (if I did it would be glass and not plastic).

Edit* How do people end up with those spider-webbed phone screens??

Drop the phone on a corner with cheap case that doesn't absorb any of the shock. The popular impression seems to be that dropping a phone face down is what breaks the screen. While I'm sure that's possible and happens sometimes, I think the corner drop is far more damaging because the glass gives before the frame. That's how you get the spiderweb without any of the glass chipping off.

Surprisingly, the leather Apple cases seem to absorb shock just as well as some of the harder cases. I've been using one for a long time and corner drops haven't been a problem. They keep the back of the phone looking new as well.

never used a glass screen protector. That said, my OP3 still has the plastic factory thingy on its screen, I dont mind it so it will stay on until it peels off or something. I've never damaged a phone in my life -knock on wood- and always make sure I dont put it in a pocket with keys etcetera. But, I did get a thin case for my OP3, because I ended up finding it a bit to slippery to hold.

I've never used a screen protector on anything and none of my screens are scratched. They've always seemed like a scam to me. Don't put your phone in your pocket with your keys and you're golden. A screen protector isn't gonna keep your screen from shattering if you drop it on concrete.

Never used one in my life, or a case for that matter, and I've never had any noticeable scratches on any phone I've owned. I just always make sure my phone doesn't share a pocket with anything else.

I don't used one on my S7 but I do use a case because its quite a slick phone (literally) and I don't like getting little scratches on the back of phones because they're about 10 times more noticeable to me.

Screen protectors are garbage. All you need is a thin profile TPU case with a very slightly raised lip in the front. The lip protects the screen from direct impact in most cases (lands on lip when dropped face down). The case absorbs the impact to prevent the screen from cracking and the phone's body from getting messed up.

This combined with screens being pretty durable nowadays means you should never need a screen protector again with normal use. If you are out in the field traversing rock formations, you would have a case to use a much more shock absorbent case like an overkill otterbox.
