Apollo Justice will make an appearance in Ace Attorney 5

I'm wondering how the
trial by jury
will affect the gameplay if any at all.

if they actually implement that, it could probably just base the number of convinced jury depending on critical things you get

which would mean they'd let you progress even despite a screw up

...would be hard to design, but it'd definitely freshen things up. or if they're lame, you can maybe only fail so many times before jury rushes a guilty decision

Is it bad that I hope it gets retconned away? I appreciate why it was put into AA4 and it had a good execution but I see it as more of a hinderance going forward.

So is AA x Layton not getting localized? I wonder what the logic behind that is :(

Oh well, I'll take what I can get. Can't wait for this!

Also, is the above really true? I don't think I've seen anything in recent memory that literally made my body go numb except for the reveal trailer where Wright objects to Layton.

I guess added off-shoot since it won't be off-topic in here. Last I heard, our only shot at AAI2 was a fan translation, is that making progress?

I thought that the jury system used in that final case was more of a pilot program to see if they wanted to adopt it for the whole legal system. So it wouldn't necessarily be in full use if they wanted to say it was still in 'testing'. I can't really remember how it all played out though.

Is Maya still missing in action? :(

I'm expecting at LEAST a mention since we'll have access to Phoenix's thoughts. Instead of that "assistant" of his.

AA4 plot/ending spoiler:
Well with the whole focus on implementing an effective legal system and how the court battles will enter the "dark times", I find it believable that they will use the jury system.

Forgot Shu Takumi isn't actually writing this one.

Really?

Edit: Looked it up, that's kind of lame that he's not working on this in favor of the the cross game. I mean I'm super hyped for AAxPL but he shouldn't divert himself for that reason.

So much Ace Attorney I'm waiting for...
Layton vs AA: needs to be localized.
AA5: Needs to come out in Japan first.
AA123 HD Collection (for Android!): I don't even know their excuse anymore.

I've given up on the Edgeworth series, didn't really care for it.

Because Phoenix Wright in a bad ass pimp suit? Plus the formula is just so beautiful that it always has to work out.

Yeah, but Takumi manages to do something very difficult to pull off- create mysteries with layers that peel like an onion with (breaking the analogy) a sweet surprise at the core. This isn't easy. It's like replacing Harmon on Community. Some licenses are only as good as the man behind them.

On another note, I love how the community uses any tidbit of AA news as an excuses to discuss all things PW.

He was only interested in making the original trilogy. He started working on Ghost Trick the moment he finished the third game. Unfortunately he didn't have the same level of success with that so he worked on the crossover.

I hope he finds interest in something successful again, but he probably won't come back to this series.

I don't see why he doesn't continue with Ghost Trick. Compared to the first AA, Ghost Trick is god-tier. I can't imagine the sales of just the first AA were that great when it first released.

Trucy will almost definitely be in it. This is a year later, right? So she's 16. I doubt Phoenix is gonna abandon his 16 year old daughter.

Though, it does suck that she only got one game of being the assistant. :(

On the DS in Japan it eventually sold 254,681 + 155,813 + 117,784 = 528278

And debuted at 50.5K. I imagine it has been successful in the west for them to localize 5 games, though Investigations did poorly.

hopefully he makes an appearance in jail, never to be seen again

lol

It's pretty much all being handled by the AAI/AAI2 team.

As is apparent in my question above (which someone can still feel free to answer :P), I never played AAI2. Did they pull that same type of garbage that they did in AAI where at the end someone kept jumping in at just the last second to help Edgy out......over and over again. No spoilers please just a vague answer is fine.

And of course, I know it sold well. I'm just saying I can't see how Ghost Trick sold drastically less. Idk, I haven't seen the numbers so maybe I'm just crazy.

I guess Apollo's sense sharingan thing caused him to lose his eye.

By the time AA5 ends he will lose his badge and in his downtime, he'll learn to play the cello. Once the AA series is all said and done, we'll have a whole orchestra of attorneys :P

In Japan, Ghost Trick did (these are numbers that have been tracked, so it should be higher than this) 72,767 (regular price) + 2,941 (best price edition). I imagine Capcom wasn't happy with that.

I hope she's turned into a beautiful woman by AA5.

Maya or Trucy? :p

God, I'm hoping for Trucy

I don't care how pedo that sounds, in most states I'd be allowed as long as Wright approves :P

Good stealth edit before I posted :P Well that's kind of a shame. I liked Ghost Trick more than AA1 and 2 by a mile. Can't be dem feels in 3 though.

Less than thrilled Apollo is coming back, but so long as its only a small cameo in one case I'll be fine with it.

Also knowing he got injured, I really wouldn't be that surprised if something bad happened to Trucy as well.

The man tears would be strong if they killed Trucy.

The only thing that can get Phoenix back into lawyering...

...Is an attempt on Apollo's life.

Phoenix Wright 6: Revenge of the Phoenix.

I never really had a problem with AJ because of Apollo himself, actually. The game's writing was just lackluster.

Happy to see him return.
