"Apple makes more money by TAXING than the big 3 combine" is more accurate.
to quote the thread title:People have been trying to say this/do this with theater movies and streaming movies. What's your reasoning for it?
What about the curated Apple arcade games that mostly end up on PC or console anyway?to quote the thread title:
"apple-makes-more-money-in-gaming-than-the-big-3"
I assume the big 3 is MS, Sony and Nintendo.
MS, Sony and Nintendo and their "gaming" are competing for the same money (though you could say Nintendo are trying to be a little different but it's roughly the same market).
Apple and it's gaming (in fact mobile gaming in general) is it's own market. Different actual games. They are not in direct competition with the big 3.
To your point, you can watch (for example) the same movie at a theater or on netflix at home, yet you can't play (most of the time) a shovelware mobile game on your PS5/XboxX, and you certainly cant play Spider man, Halo or whatever on your phone.
Honestly comparing Apple's gaming profits with MB games' profits is almost as cogent.
"gaming"
what about them? #whatboutismWhat about the curated Apple arcade games that mostly end up on PC or console anyway?
I was referencing this part of your previous postwhat about them?

legit I didnt know what apple arcade was until you told me of it's existenceI was referencing this part of your previous post
And was wondering if this still applies to apple arcade or if that ends up as a weird in-between in your view?
Apple Arcade is their own curated list of high budget and/or high quality titles, so that you don't have to deal with the mess of app store/google play store in order to find something of quality. Quite a few of the games there usually end up being ported to consoles and/or PC after a few months on the service. I don't have a concrete list at the moment but I can find one soon and post it here.legit I didnt know what apple arcade was until you told me of it's existence
what games from apple arcade ended up on PC anyway?
note: the title of this thread was regarding the big 3.
edit - off the bat it sounds like a weird in-between
ok thats very interesting.Apple Arcade is their own curated list of high budget and/or high quality titles, so that you don't have to deal with the mess of app store/google play store in order to find something of quality. I found a small sample size example of what I'm referring to:ok thats very interesting.
can you name 1 or 2 titles? id be happy to look at them
edit - curated from what?
This specifically starts to veer into subjective territory and if that ends up being a big factor, then there's nothing I can present that would prove otherwise for you.all the games I saw were basic and not what would appeal to your typical PS5/XboxX/switch owner.
I assume the big 3 is MS, Sony and Nintendo.

but who cares? why compare apples and oranges? That Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony are competing isn't relevant since it is their combined profits versus Apple's profits.
I found a small sample size example of what I'm referring to:
Quite a few of these games made it to switch/4k consoles/PC either simultaneously or being on apple arcade first for a bit.
The curation is in regards to their mobile app store, because searching for games on it is very similar to steam where there are a lot of cash grabs and asset flips on it that you would normally have to sift through to find good content.
This specifically starts to veer into subjective territory and if that ends up being a big factor, then there's nothing I can present that would prove otherwise for you.
again, "TAKE THAT MB GAMES!, APPLE SMOKED YOUR ASS!"but who cares? why compare apples and oranges?
this thread is just bait for apple fans/haters.
Just wanted to clarify, just because the link I posted says 'switch port' doesn't mean those games were only ported to Nintendo switch. Quite a few of them are also on Steam and PS/XB when searched for.as a regular console/PC player who has no interest in mobile gaming, the only game on that list I recognize is samurai jack. and not because I recognize the game.
those games may have made it to SWITCH (not PC as you posted earlier) but they were curated from their store. a mobile gaming store.
My only case is that the lines might be a bit more blurred than we thought, and part of that is thanks to what Apple is attempting to do by bridging that gap, because these games have to also be playable on their Apple TV boxes."mobile gaming" and "big 3" gaming appeal to different audiences.
ok. well posted.Just wanted to clarify, just because the link I posted says 'switch port' doesn't mean those games were only ported to Nintendo switch. Quite a few of them are also on Steam and PS/XB when searched for.

dude, put it back in your pants.I have so much fun reading this threat and watching the consoles and PC dudes crying likes virgin girls for their plastic toys than is not a dildo... this is so hilarious! You've lost dudes, that's the state of the market. But please be mad, I'm enjoying it so much!
Again, your personal taste of each game being ported is subjective, so there's nothing I can say to prove otherwise to you specifically. If that's what it's coming down to in order to make your case, then I'll automatically have to throw in the towel and tip my hat.ok. well posted.
the big 3 and apple "gaming" are almost entirely different markets, IMO.
all of apple's money coming from "gaming" is definitely mobile gaming. what you referred to earlier sounded like God of War coming to steam. what youre actually referring to is fruit ninja coming to steam (not an apple product). also fruit ninja almost certainl;y made more money on steam than any of those apple store games.
Apple may be making more money from "gaming" than the big 3 but it's not from the same market.
Who are these people playing on mobile and what is wrong with them?

Also it's nothing against you at all. I've just spent way too much time on this forum in general arguing opinion vs opinion because sometimes a person here can feel like they can change the opinion of others. It's fun conversation but a meaningless endeavor.
but who cares? why compare apples and oranges?
this thread is just bait for apple fans/haters.
my mistakeI'm not saying anybody does or should care. You made a point that Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony are "competing for the same money". I was just saying that point isn't relevant since it is taking their combined profits into consideration, not just one of them separately.
I think people will try to come up with some good counters to your point, and a big one you should consider is this:again, well posted.
I think I've made my point. Apple's money they make through "gaming" is not a sensible comparison to the big 3. While there will always be crossover they are targeting different consumers.
are you referring to the old capcom/konami releases? that are being released on steam etc? well they require a controller or keyboard. yes you can play knights of the round on your iphone (can you?), but i bet it sucks.I think people will try to come up with some good counters to your point, and a big one you should consider is this:
Considering that you're sectioning off apple arcade games to be considered different, would you do the same with actual arcade games that were(and still are) being ported to consoles/PC, since they are also completely different experiences(and on the more casual side) than a standard AAA product for console/pc?
"Apple makes more money by TAXING than the big 3 combine" is more accurate.
This is apples problem though. They don't own any of this shit. Just skimming these profits from hard working developers. Luckily all this is coming to an end, with the new laws that will allow third party payment processors. Then watch apples "gaming" profits flatline.
You means hardcore gaming like what there is on PSN with all those app at 1$ to get some trophies... That is hardcore!are you referring to the old capcom/konami releases? that are being released on steam etc? well they require a controller or keyboard. yes you can play knights of the round on your iphone (can you?), but i bet it sucks.
apple gaming is marketing to mobile gamers.
again, the big 3 are not. in general. there is of course some crossover.
good for apple, they make tons of money from shovelware. call it "gaming" if you want but it's a different market from the big 3. I remember people were comparing Wii game sales to x360/PS3 game sales. That makes more sense but let's be honest they were different markets.
Well, box office sales are still considered very important so...People have been trying to say this/do this with theater movies and streaming movies. What's your reasoning for it?
I blame parents.
Also feel sorry for parents. I have to hide my credit cards at home. don't feel safe in my own house.

Same here, i love Marvel comics but can't watch any of the movies. So? Marvel movies make more than any other film on Earth but I wouldn't be caught dead watching that shit.
