DoctorM64, the almost sole developer of am2r "Another Metroid 2 Remake", puts out a cool April Fool's joke ever year. This year's might be the most elaborate I've seen from him yet: amta "Another Metroid Text Adventure". Play Metroid 2... as a text adventure!

So, it's April 1st and you know what that means! Everyone's favorite fake/real/fakereal computer science conference SIGBOVIK is on. You can read the full proceedings of the SIGBOVIK 2016 here (should you care for a laugh and maybe some head scratching): http://sigbovik.org/2016/proceedings.pdf

But onto the title at hand. You may remember the venerable Dr. Tom Murphy VII, Ph.D. aka "Tom7" from his other SIGBOVIK videos/papers in the past few years such as writing generalized programs to teach computers how to play video games entitled "The First Level of Super Mario Bros. is Easy with Lexicographic Orderings and Time Travel (...after that it gets a little tricky)." For you math nerds in the audience, he also established in 2007 that Super Mario Bros. is NP-Complete.

This year, he's back, and he's here to make all your old NES games beautiful and in 3D!

Are they secretly announcing a game or is that a character for a game I don't know?

So the anime of Planetarian wasn't a hoax after all, it seems.

The project's website lists David Production (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Level E) in charge of animation production.

Key made several false announcements on Friday for April Fool's Day, but renewed the planetarian anime project announcement page on April 2 (Japan time).

Here's the full roster. The final character turned out to be Hamster Master.

This makes me so sad, because they nailed the silhouettes so well. Blaster Master's also been on my mind more recently, and Giant Bomb just mentioned it again in their podcast a few days ago (that I was just now listening to).
