Ar nosurge Plus (Vita) Localization Announcement Coming Soon

I hope they realize even localizing Ar no Surge was completely meaningless without Ciel no surge. I didn't buy it for that reason specifically.

Localize your first games before bothering with the second!

I don't think KT Europe even has a facebook page? Or at least I can't find one. And they can't delete replies on twitter so this sounds like BS to me

That's why I'm confused. I'm pretty sure they have (had?) a facebook, but I can't check or look for it right now. I'm guessing this is a mixup of some sort.

JP Vita version is PS Vita TV compatible, so I'd assume the localised version will be as well. I tried it out for a few minutes on my Vita TV and it looks nice and runs smoothly. I haven't played the PS3 version, though.

Oh this is good to know. Hopefully the NA release is compatible as well.

It wasnt meaningless at all. Im glad we got the game and on top of it physical for PS3. There are very detailed summaries online for Ciel, which is far from ideal but much better than nothing. Also the combat and OST can stand by itself even if you didnt follow the storyline.

The game is awesome and it was in no way meaningless to licalize it.

I'm sure it is an awesome game, i've seen and heard amazing things about it. But locking away a plot and text heavy game and localizing another plot and text heavy game that relies fully on that first game renders the game absolutely meaningless for most who are looking to actually care or understand the events.

I don't feel like i should have to look up a out of game detailed plot synopsis and in depth descriptions to understand a game before i play it.

And so you'd rather we have not gotten it at all. Ar nosurge was designed kind of to be stand alone,or at least they tried to.

I hope the game grows on me, played about 4 hours and it's not bad but I can't say I'm impressed.
I read the Ciel summary and thought it was interesting.
I loved the first AT.

Ar nosurge is a regular JRPG, Ciel is not and I don't see it selling at all over here and the amount of text that game has is insane, I'm so happy someone dedicated so much of their time to translate the whole story of the game because FUCK IT'S HUGE.

I understand not wanting to read a synopsis, I just don't like to hear someone say that the game getting translated was meaningless.

haha, let's get people to check the OT!

I never said anything about us not getting it. I meant they rendered anyone looking to get into No Surge completely out of the loop, thus rendering their entire localization process meaningless if it meant to get people into No Surge.

But i guess my own issue is how the designers developed the game to lean heavily on a game that isn't really the same kind of thing.

Ar no surge should have been its own completely different story with no real need to understand before hand.

Quite frankly I'm pretty sure the logic wasn't getting folks into surge, but to localize another gust Jrpg as there's a market for it. I don't think there's any intention of expanding surge in terms of corporate view.

What about the non affiliated JRPG fans? Those who want to know about the story and characters but are unable to do so outside of going out of their way to look it up? No?

I'm just angry at the situation, i know the localization team doesn't decide how the previous game was set up or the game they localizing for that matter.

But it just sucks really bad.

And what about non affiliated JRPG fans? What about those who would have a problem with not being able to understand the plot or the character motivations? No?
Hey im just talking Devils advocate here. If you watched how much Tsuchiya was flip-flopping on if Ciel was required or not for Ar nosurge, it's pretty sad. There's clearly corporate and upper management pressure on the guy on how it's being handled and marketed.

I didn't even start the PS3 version since I had a feeling we might get this version as well. I just really wanted the limited edition.

There is no feasible market for a game like Ciel in America. And definitely not on the level of budget they'd need to even localize it. It's hours upon hours text and was 100% voiced on top of all that.

The compromise here is either folks read the amazing summary that Blackraen wrote, or watch his video subs that he just started doing. He's actually up to chapter 3 now, God bless this guy m
Well, some of these graphic novel type games can be surprisingly easy to overestimate relative to other games, since while having a lot of plot they also have minimal misc text to translate like NPCs to talk to or item descriptions. And Koei Tecmo has NOT been shy of sub-only releases, which is part of what made what happened with Ayesha all the more stupefying.

Thats the thing, there is such thing as minimal misc. text in a EXA_PICO game. It's not quite graphic novel either. . . In any case :P

Well, I did say type game, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was a bunch of unexpected crap anyway. Ah well, they could at least come up with their own in-game summary thing, but it's a bit late for that if it's not already in the Plus version.

Even if they do a digital-only release, I'll double-dip again.

Would be nice if they somehow managed to do a LE via the NISA store or something for a limited physical release, though.

(IIRC this version includes the costumes that western players got locked out of due to the server-related stuff being removed from the original.)

It'll be a miracle for us to get Ciel nosurge at this point. At least someone put in the time to give us such a detailed synopsis of the game.

People mentioned they were deleting Ciel no Surge messages, but I can still find those on their Twitter. Are they deleting their own messages?
