That's setting the expectations crazy high tbh.

I know for sure if we can make progress without have to play it constantly it's gonna be fine.

But you will suck with alot of the harder mp games if you don't play it all the time.

You don't need to play constantly to experience this game.

Just pick up the pad turn your mic on and see how videogames can change how you define them. This isn't about "git gud" the emergent possibilities and social interactions have never been done before and im not even sure the devs thought this was how it was going to play out.

Lightening in a bottle.

Its not hyperbole when I say this is a leap forward for videogames.

Some players really have zero survival instinct whatsoever

the amount of players that get angry when you kill them while they run around like elephants. breaching and talking on prox chat with their weapon holstered.. like bro, you are easy pickings for us sociopaths. Give me all your shit 🤣

I think you have to weaken the hornet first or a single charge is not gonna kill it.

My tip for people on montis if you're strictly trying to finish up the event to unlock everything:

Extract asap.

Just find the nearest extract on map, kill easy arcs like tickers or bombers, loot only non breachable shit, fill up, and bail out.

The longer you stay the odds of you dying significantly increases with the chaos of the map, and terrible spawns.

I'm like 3150 points down, with just a little to go.

As for the two quests there, the hardest part is looting the magnetron and getting out. It's a RNG drop that can happen in any item area you search. Better chance near red high loot map areas, but not the seed vault. That place is trash.

So you'll need to sacrifice a lot of augments for a safe pocket till you can finally get one to stuff into the safe pocket.
 
I finally maxxed out Scrappy. Spaceport FTW with three mushrooms in one run from one tree. I wasted so much time (days) looking around on Dam Battlegrounds and only got a few. The last straw was when I harvested mushrooms with a full inventory and it fucking disappeared. I'm kinda sad now that he doesn't need anything else.
 
So, I had my first taste of blood. A kill I intiated without being threatened.

I saw a downed raider across a long hallway and the aggresor standing over him. I took aim at his head with that gimped single shot rifle (lvl 1) and yelled out "did you shoot that man?!" He yells back "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Before he could act again I let the lead fly right into his skull. All it took was one shot to get him down.

I rushed over to finish him off with my bare hands. The deed was done. "There"s no going back now" I thought to myself, accepting the monster i've become.

I loot his body, nothing but trash... but his victim however was stuffed with plenty of resources I needed. God wanted it this way. I was CHOSEN to exact justice and reap the rewards.
 
After much consideration, I said "What the heck, I could use another Mario 64 moment" and I bought it yesterday.

I'm looking for Sythetic Fuel on Spaceport. I go to the high tier loot zone where it supposedly spawns the most...with my free loadout (Kettle). I sneak around and try to drop a player who's shooting ARC in a building. Can't knock him but I chase. Chaos erupts as the wounded player is now shooting other players (that I suspect he thinks is me). For about 2 minutes straight I hide while I hear nothing but shooting and yelling. It finally quiets down and I jog up to the last remaining player who tells me "That guy was a rat, he shot at me!"

I tell him "I just got the game and I'm using a free loadout". He says "That's cool. Take what you need off these bodies."

He goes down to loot one of the bodies and I Kettle his *** like a sociopath. I drop him and the guy starts swearing at me. I say "It's nothing personal" in my best Clint Eastwood.

Then I'm looting these 4 dead bodies for what feels like an eternity. I finally get everything I want, I start jogging away like an absolute fat kid (waaay over encumbered) when someone runs up "Friendly! Friendly!"

I yell "Friendly! Friendly!" back and I hear the guy say "OMG, WTF happened here?!"

I huffed and puffed but I made it out. Lost a few months off my life due to the stress, but it was worth it.

I was half kidding. I've been out of town for the last 2 weeks so I've had to live vicariously through this thread. It's been fun to watch you, clarky clarky , and the rest of NeoGAF embrace this game so much. Y'all really made me feel [not crazy] for championing the genre so much over the last year.

Almost done with work today and this game has been on my mind the whole time. Im 44 and feel like im a kid again thinking about Super Mario 3 while I was at school.

That is the lesson this weekend. Scrappy doesn't seem to be speaking to me and my inventory is trashed.

That game is excellent and is huge, would last a content monster like youself a good week or 2 at least.

Third best game this year and my second favorite open world game after RDR2.

I actually did the same thing yesterday. I saw the flare go off as the ambusher took down their victim.

I walked over, wanting to run, but also wanting some stamina when I got there. I got there in time however, the murderer was still picking over the bones of his victim.

I threw a flame grenade, igniting him, and pulled out my rifle. No words were exchanged before both victim and murderer laid dead together.

Afterwards, I realised I had no idea who had shot first.

GymWolf GymWolf my connection is too unstable to play out of region unfortunately my mushroom quest will have to be a solo affair for now........

Edit: Stuck a vpn on and got back into that game and managed to get out at least. Will try and play again later with you if you are on. Thanks.

Not a big fan of the way trials work. Top 2 on my leaderboards are over 100k, I've struggled to get 40k and only just in top 50 for promotion which I'll probably get bumped down in the next 18 hours before reset. They either need to be cumulative or come up with another measure of skill. Getting the 3 stars is easy but you need to farm 1 thing in a whole round and if the rng on spawns doesn't get you you'll no doubt get flapped at extraction like we did twice tonight.
