Know what sounds better than 292/292? 304/304 after the next expedition.

5 mil is wild I'll be lucky to hit 1
Yea this part irks me. Everything else sounds fine but 5 million is a lot. I've been bleeding money chasing trials these past few weeks. I've played something like 180 hours, love the game, done everything and this number still feels like it's too high. Honestly was expecting like 2 million or something.

The value of my left over gear and items?

Yeah I'm not even worth 1 million thanks to the fucking dumpster fire trials burning all of my loot just to compete.
Yea mate trials has been a slog. Have lost a lot of money from doing those, not to mention loss of revenue from looting.

As much as I love this game, it's time for me to step away and play more casual.
I've spent the last few days trying to get the expedition done and I'm at stage four needing one leaper core.
But I'm just fed up of the gameplay loop and trying to take down a leaper while dealing with people stealing the core and then taking me down when finishing.
I hope they can change the gameplay loop to be more varied.

1 good Wolfpack is enough to take down a leaper. Depending on spawns you can kill one and get out in a matter of minutes. I know it doesn't always work out but it shouldn't be too hard. Take a raider hatch key too.

Lol a player would have to be mad to do it. 12 extra stash slots hahaha

I'd do it, but theres no way a casual like me can complete the expedition. I have 35 hours played and I'm only on stage two of the expedition, there ain't not way I'll complete it over the next ten days.

Ah well!

Lol 5 milion? That's some bullshit.

So now I'm forced to horde everything in the final weeks?

When exactly am I supposed to use all the expensive gear?

Should be total stash valve over the course of the season not whats in there right now.

If they had blueprints weigh in heavily, you would also provide an incentive for people to continue farming for blueprints up until the last minute and it would feel less bad about losing them

I have a feeling they're gonna be making changes to expeditions in the future. I think what they're doing has unintended consequences of people hoarding instead of using their gear.

Yeah 5 million is a lot. I have a full stash of a variety of valuable things in different categories and even then my total is just under 2 million. Do they expect people to hoard stacks of mixtapes?

This also makes the stash space issue even worse while doing this.

When the Expedition departs, all items in your Raider's stash will be contributed toward it. Your next Raider can earn up to five skill points based on the total value of your Stash and Coins at the time of departure. One million Coins worth of value equals one extra skill point for your new Raider.

It's the fact that it just encourages people to use free/low value loadouts even more now. Goes against the idea of an extraction shooter if you ask me.

I will reset but I'm not interested in hording all my best gear for skill points that hardly matter anyway.

First big mistep from Embark here for me. They really didn't think this through.

There's a ton of missteps lol. 😂 This is not the first or only.

Not for me, I dont engage with the weekly system.

Everything else like weapon balance and bugs etc is whatever and to be expected.

What do you think are the mis steps? Im not talking about stuff that doesn't work in 1.0 but stuff they have changed or announced after launch, hence a misstep.

You're creating your own definition and parameters for the word misstep, which is just defined as a mistake.

The game has plenty of mistakes:
-Trials system. It alone has so many mistakes it's not worth listing anymore.
-Blue prints system
-Expedition system.
-Free load outs in their current state.
-Even the character appearance options are abysmal. It's like one to two decent faces or hair styles.
-Plenty of exploits and bugs now to glitch into environment.
-IMO the game front loads content and has an extreme drought of content for objective focused players on the back end after 50 hours.

Plenty for them to work on and improve.

Yes, I am I'm clarifying what I personally mean by a misstep. All that stuff you mentioned are things from 1.0. Things that need to be improved for sure.

I consider changes that make the game better from that point on a step in the right direction, things that make the game worse for me as a fuck up, a misstep.

Lets see what happens with the first real big patch.

Edit: Also get ready for the internet to burn when they reveal a really shitty or game breaking skin reward for resetting. Not sure why they don't show us what it is right now.

I'm confused with how "expeditions" work and the idea of wiping my character. I'm level 47 and haven't started the expedition process at all and on step 1/6, so obviously I'm not going to make it in time to complete it. When is the next time I can start it to prestige or whatever they're calling it?

pretty sure you can start it whenever and it just saves your progress and you can take off whenever you're ready

Looks like we get one ever couple months or so

Your progress just carries forward and you can "leave" when the next reset happens. Likely some point in February.

All this losing sleep over an unbelievably bad and undercooked first prestige refresh, jesus. Mind you, back in my fleeting CoD playing days I was never one who saw the appeal then either. These systems seem geared towards players who have been lost something chronic to the game they're living in.

Position 22 this week so SHOULD get a promotion to wildcard 3 rank. Just need 1 more next week to get the outfit. What a fucking battle it has been. Shit system.

What's the point in going up ranks? just for the skin and other cosmetics?

Seems to just make it harder each week, not really engaged much with the system.

It started off just wanting to see how it goes but now it's turned into a wanting to just hit daredevil 1 for the outfit. Not even worried about hitting anything above that as it seems unless you hit the top rank which is apparently top 100 you get nothing extra. Sorta feels like I've gone 95% of the way I just have 1 more week of sweating.and hopefully get there.

Really don't like what they have done with this expedition announcement. Needing 5million to get the 5 skill points after the shopping list of items to build the caravan is wild to me tbh, they should of specified this at the start, I won't be able to hit 5 mil to get the extra points but almost feel forced to wipe now cause of the stuff I've donated. I might have had a better chance to get to 5mil target if I had known at the start but it's still a lot I need to make 3.3m to hit that target after I've been attempting trails and burning through items etc.

Also this is gonna just make some people be absolute scumbags and betray or extract camp with free gear cause they wanna prioritise as much value without any risk even I feel I gotta do that to reach 5mil lol just feels like such a messed up announcement should of been clearer about us needing a million per skill point from the start.

The 5 Million think is such a joke. They really need to rethink that. For the most part, solos, even duos, has been mostly friendly these past few days. We will see how it goes over the next 10 days.

Yeah thats the meta that I won't be participating in. Thats how you burn yourself out and start hating the game. For what? Five skill points? No thanks.

POE2 update in five days anyway so no chance I'll make half a mill, never mind five with my playstyle.

If you don't do the expedition and reset your character and grind and you've completed all of the vendor missions then what's left for you to do?
Do we know what Embark have planned for those players?
Also if you reset your character with the expedition will the vendor missions be the same too?

Very little.

Embark made half of a game. The next few years they'll be building the 2nd half (end game).

Events, raider deck grind

I really don't know what you would do to made an end game in an extraction shooter like this with no enforced wipes. Maybe higher tier maps that cost to enter or have minimum load out requirements?

Marathon has that last map with lvl50 entry requirements and a ranked mode, something similar here would be nice.

We are just running raids for PVP now, which is very fun with a pre made. Will wipe to see if it holds up over the next "season." They need to at least rework the loot zones, requirements for work benches etc etc. If its exactly the same grind as before I think they will lose a lot of people.

I'd be redirecting all my resources at the game right now if I was them, they have a shot at elbowing their way in with the big boys if they don't fuck it up.

Time will tell but I think as mentioned before more and more players will get to the point I got around hour 75, where you've cleaned it all up, especially if you don't plan to expedition, and go "so… why am I playing this anymore?" It's why I mentioned Diablo 4, it's exactly what happened within 2 months after its release and nothing blizzard has done since has made folks think they've remedied the end game issue.

I'm going to expedition and try to be glass half full that they'll surprise us with more content than they are letting on for season 2.

Realistically I think I'll be disappointed and just play a ton of PoE2 new season instead, and then remain cautiously optimistic for marathon to fill my PvP game hole.

It could work to alternate this and marathon once both are out similar to alternating ARPGs like Poe 2 and poe1 season to season.

I feel like I'm losing something

Expeditions work in order to reboot your character, right? Start from scratch with some bonuses.

But ... why would I want that? To get rid of everything I've upgraded, do the same missions all over again etc., all of that for some bonuses?

Sounds wild to me. Why would people do that? Are they that much desperate for content?

Noramlly wipes are forced in games like this to prevent loot bloat. They are trying something different although im not convinced they know what to do themselves, time will tell.

It's pretty standard in loot based online games

Diablo 2 did this with ladder wipes, where it wasn't voluntary. Everyone got pushed off ladders into non ladder servers and you'd have to start over as no one really plays non ladder
